Card Rulings:Mischief of the Time Goddess
OCG Rulings
- "Neither player can activate cards or effects in response to this card's activation. Cannot be activated as Chain Link 2 or higher" is not treated as an effect.[1]
- This card can be activated at the end of your Battle Phase (= End Step) if the only monsters in your Monster Zone are face-up "Valkyrie" monsters.[1]
- If this effect is applied, the Main Phase 2 and End Phase of that turn, the opponent's next turn, and the Draw Phase, Standby Phase, and Main Phase 1 of your next turn are skipped. (As a result, you resume the Duel from the Start Step of the Battle Phase of your next turn.)[1]
- You cannot activate "Mischief of the Time Goddess" at the end of the Battle Phase (= End Step) of the turn you resumed the Duel.
Q&A Rulings
- Q: Can you activate "Mischief of the Time Goddess" while the effect of the opponent's "Macro Cosmos" is being applied?
- A: Even if the effect of the opponent's "Macro Cosmos" is being applied, you can activate "Mischief of the Time Goddess" at the end of your Battle Phase if the only monsters in your Monster Zone are "Valkyrie" monsters. If you do, "Mischief of the Time Goddess" is not sent to the Graveyard and it is banished, but the process that skips to the start of the Battle Phase of your next turn and the process that prevents you from activating "Mischief of the Time Goddess" until the end of that turn are applied as usual.[2]
- Q: The only monster in your Monster Zone is a "Valkyrie Erda" that you took control with "Enemy Controller". In this scenario, if you activate "Mischief of the Time Goddess", how does the effect resolve?
- A: In this case, the turn is skipped by the effect of "Mischief of the Time Goddess", and the effect of "Enemy Controller" stops being applied. Therefore, control of "Valkyrie Erda" returns to the opponent.[3]
- Q: "Valkyrie Brunhilde" and "Athena" are face-up in your Monster Zone at the end of the Battle Phase. After banishing "Athena" with "Interdimensional Matter Transporter", if you activate "Mischief of the Time Goddess", what happens to the banished "Athena"?
- A: In this case, the turn is skipped by the effect of "Mischief of the Time Goddess", and the End Phase in which the monster banished by the effect of "Interdimensional Matter Transporter" returns to the field has already ended. Therefore, "Athena" remains banished.[4]
- Q: If you activate "Mischief of the Time Goddess" while "Swords of Revealing Light" is in your Spell & Trap Zone, and the opponent's turn in which "Swords of Revealing Light" would be destroyed is skipped, what happens to the effect of "Swords of Revealing Light"?
- A: In this case, the turn in which "Swords of Revealing Light" would be destroyed is skipped by the effect of "Mischief of the Time Goddess". Therefore, "Swords of Revealing Light" is not destroyed, it remains on the field, and the effect that prevents your opponent's monsters from declaring an attack remains applied.[5]
- Q: While "Valkyrie Sechste" and "Valkyrie Erste" are the only monsters on my field, I activate the effect of "Valkyrie Erste" and banish a "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" from my opponent's GY, so that the ATK of "Valkyrie Erste" becomes 3000. In this situation, if I activate "Mischief of the Time Goddess" at the end of the Battle Phase, what happens to the ATK of "Valkyrie Erste"?
- A: In this scenario, the rest of the turn is skipped by the effect of "Mischief of the Time Goddess", and the effect of "Valkyrie Erste" is no longer applied. Therefore, its ATK returns to 1600.[6][7]
