OCG Rulings
- Returning the targeted "Mist Valley" monster to your hand is an effect of "Mist Valley Apex Avian", and is performed at resolution. If an effect like "Ring of Destruction" is Chained so that the targeted monster cannot be returned to the hand, then the effect of "Mist Valley Apex Avian" is not applied and the effect of the Spell Card/Trap Card/Effect Monster is not negated.[2]
- You can activate this card's effect and return itself to your hand.[3]
- You cannot activate the effect of "Mist Valley Apex Avian" multiple times in the same Chain.[4]
- You can activate the effect-negating effect of "Mist Valley Apex Avian" during the Damage Step.[5]
- The effect of "Mist Valley Apex Avian" which negates the effect of a Spell Card/Trap Card/Effect Monster is a Quick Effect which you activate in Chain to the effect which will be negated. This effect targets one "Mist Valley" card you control.[6]
- You can activate the effect of "Mist Valley Apex Avian" in Chain to the activation of the effect of a face-up Continuous Spell/Trap Card.[7]
