Q&A Rulings
- Q: When activating "Monster Reborn Reborn", can I target a "Elementsaber Molehu", "Elementsaber Lapauila Mana", and "Phosorage the Elemental Lord" in my Graveyard?
- A: When activating "Monster Reborn Reborn", all 3 targets must be monsters that can be Special Summoned. In this scenario, since "Phosorage the Elemental Lord" cannot be Special Summoned from the Graveyard, it cannot be included as a target when activating "Monster Reborn Reborn".[1]
- Q: I activate "Monster Reborn Reborn", targeting an "Alpha the Magnet Warrior", "Beta the Magnet Warrior", and "Gamma the Magnet Warrior" in my Graveyard. If my opponent chains "Ojama Trio" and Special Summons 3 Ojama Tokens to my field, so that I have no vacant Main Monster Zones remaining, how does "Monster Reborn Reborn" resolve?
- A: As in this scenario, if there are no available Monster Zones to Special Summon in when resolving "Monster Reborn Reborn", its effect is not applied. (In this case, all 3 targeted monsters remain in the Graveyard.)[2]
- Q: I activate "Monster Reborn Reborn", targeting "Alpha the Magnet Warrior", "Beta the Magnet Warrior", and "Gamma the Magnet Warrior" in my Graveyard. If my opponent chains "Vanity's Emptiness", how does "Monster Reborn Reborn" resolve?
- A: If the effect of "Vanity's Emptiness" is applying when "Monster Reborn Reborn" resolves, its effect does not apply. (In this scenario, "Alpha the Magnet Warrior", "Beta the Magnet Warrior", and "Gamma the Magnet Warrior" all remain in your Graveyard.) If the effect of "Vanity's Emptiness" is already applying, you cannot activate "Monster Reborn Reborn".[3]
- Q: I activate "Monster Reborn Reborn", targeting "X-Head Cannon", "Y-Dragon Head", and "Z-Metal Tank" in my Graveyard. If my opponent chains the effect of "D.D. Crow", and banishes "Y-Dragon Head" from the Graveyard, how does "Monster Reborn Reborn" resolve?
- A: When resolving the effect of "Monster Reborn Reborn", if one of the three targeted monsters is no longer in the Graveyard, the effect is applied using the remaining 2 monsters (in this scenario, "X-Head Cannon" and "Z-Metal Tank"). The monster chosen by your opponent is Special Summoned, and the remaining monster is banished.[4]
- Q: I activate "Monster Reborn Reborn", targeting "Alpha the Magnet Warrior", "Beta the Magnet Warrior", and "Gamma the Magnet Warrior" in my Graveyard. If my opponent chains "Imperial Iron Wall", how does "Monster Reborn Reborn" resolve?
- A: If the effect of "Imperial Iron Wall" is applying when "Monster Reborn Reborn" resolves, although your opponent still chooses 1 of the targeted monsters for you to Special Summon, the part of the effect that banishes the remaining monsters is not applied, and those monsters remain in the Graveyard. Also, if the effect of "Imperial Iron Wall" is already applying, you cannot activate "Monster Reborn Reborn".[5]
