Card Rulings:Nimble Momonga
Contents
OCG Rulings
- "Junk Synchron" only negates effects that activate on the field. It will not negate the effect of "Nimble Momonga" (which activates in the Graveyard).[1]
- You cannot activate the effect of "Green Baboon, Defender of the Forest" which Special Summons itself during the Damage Step when a monster is destroyed by battle. You cannot activate the effect in chain to an effect like "Giant Rat" or "Nimble Momonga" when a Beast-Type monster is destroyed by battle.[2]
Mentions in Other Rulings
- Solemn Warning: "Solemn Warning" can be Chained to the activation of a card or the activation of an Effect Monster's effect such as:[3]
- The activation of an Effect Monster's effect that Special Summons a monster(s), like the effect of "Nimble Momonga" or "Marauding Captain".[3]
Previously Official Rulings
These TCG rulings were issued by Upper Deck Entertainment and have since been declared unofficial by Konami.[4] They were previously considered official and can still be correct, as long as they follow the official gameplay rules, or unless Konami has issued a ruling that says otherwise. Mentions in Other Rulings
- Dark Ruler Ha Des: Flip Effects and effects that activate in the Graveyard WILL be negated. This includes ..."Nimble Momonga"...
- Gravekeeper's Vassal: A monster destroyed by "Gravekeeper's Vassal" in battle is still treated as "destroyed as a result of battle" (for "Mystic Tomato", "Nimble Momonga", etc.).
- Junk Synchron: If you Special Summon "Nimble Momonga", its effect will activate when it is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard. ....
- Light of Intervention: While this card is on the field, if a monster would be Special Summoned in face-down Defense Position (such as with "Cyber Jar" or "Nimble Momonga"), it is instead Special Summoned in face-up Defense Position.
- Metalsilver Armor: When you have a monster equipped with "Metalsilver Armor", your opponent CAN activate the effect of "Nimble Momonga" or "Giant Germ" because their effects do not target 1 card.
- Prohibition: If "Nimble Momonga" ... is on the field when declared by "Prohibition", when it is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard its effect activates, but the Special Summoned "Nimble Momonga" ... "cannot be used", so their effects will not be applied when they are destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard.
- Torrential Tribute: "Torrential Tribute" cannot be activated during the Damage Step. This prohibits "Torrential Tribute" from being used against monsters Special Summoned by..."Nimble Momonga"....
