- Q: During a turn that I already Normal or Special Summoned an Effect Monster, can I activate "Pacifis, the Phantasm City" to my Field Zone?
- A: Even if you already Normal or Special Summoned an Effect Monster this turn, you can activate the card "Pacifis, the Phantasm City". However, neither of its effects can be activated this turn.[1]
- Q: "Pacifis, the Phantasm City" is face-up in my Field Zone. In this situation, if my opponent activates "Ojama Trio" and Special Summons 3 Ojama Tokens to my side of the field, can I activate the effects of "Pacifis, the Phantasm City" during this turn?
- A: In this scenario, although the Ojama Tokens are Normal Monsters that were Special Summoned to your Monster Zone, they were Special Summoned by the effect of your opponent’s "Ojama Trio", you cannot activate the effect of "Pacifis, the Phantasm City" that adds a “Phantasmagoric Dragon” card from your Deck to your hand. Furthermore, although your opponent activated a card in this situation, since its effect Special Summoned Tokens to your side of the field, you cannot activate the effect of "Pacifis, the Phantasm City" that Special Summons a Phantasmagoric Dragon Token.[2]
- Q: I have a Phantasm Spiral Token on my field, Special Summoned by the effect of "Pacifis, the Phantasm City". In this situation, can I activate the effect of a face-up "Sea Stealth Attack" by banishing that Phantasm Spiral Token?
- A: When activating the effect of "Sea Stealth Attack" that prevents Spell/Trap Cards on your field from being destroyed by your opponent’s card effects this turn, you can banish a WATER-Attribute Token as the cost. In that case, the Token disappears and does not return during the End Phase, but that effect of "Sea Stealth Attack" applies normally.[3]
- Q: "Pacifis, the Phantasm City" is face-up in my Field Zone. In this situation, if I Normal or Special Summon "Gemini Lancer", can I activate the effect of "Pacifis, the Phantasm City" that adds a "Phantasm Spiral" card from my Deck to my hand?
- A: You cannot Normal or Special Summon an Effect Monster during the turn you activate either effect of "Pacifis, the Phantasm City". If your Normal or Special Summoned "Gemini Lancer" is treated as a Normal Monster on the field due to its own effect, you can activate the effect of "Pacifis, the Phantasm City" that turn. Also, if the effect of "Superalloy Beast Raptinus" that treats all Gemini monsters as Effect Monsters is applying when you Normal or Special Summon "Gemini Lancer", you will be Normal/Special Summoning an Effect Monster, so you cannot activate the effect of "Pacifis, the Phantasm City" during the same turn. (This includes the effect of "Pacifis, the Phantasm City" that Special Summons a Phantasm Spiral Token.)[4]
- Q: "Pacifis, the Phantasm City" is face-up in my Field Zone, and a "Poly-Chemicritter Hydragon" treated as a Normal Monster is face-up in my Monster Zone. In this situation, if I Normal Summon "Poly-Chemicritter Hydragon" again so that it is treated as an Effect Monster, can I activate the effect of "Pacifis, the Phantasm City" that adds a “Phantasm Spiral” card from my Deck to my hand?
- A: You cannot Normal or Special Summon an Effect Monster during the turn you activate either effect of "Pacifis, the Phantasm City". In this scenario, if you Normal Summon a Gemini monster again so that it is treated as an Effect Monster, you will be Normal Summoning an Effect Monster, so you cannot activate the effect of "Pacifis, the Phantasm City".[5]
- Q: "Pacifis, the Phantasm City" is face-up in my Field Zone. In this situation, if I Special Summon a "Dragon Spirit of White" from my hand or Graveyard, can I activate the effect of "Pacifis, the Phantasm City" that adds a "Phantasm Spiral" card from my Deck to my hand?
- A: You cannot Normal or Special Summon an Effect Monster during the turn you activate either effect of "Pacifis, the Phantasm City". The effect of "Dragon Spirit of White" treats it as a Normal Monster while in the hand or Graveyard, but a Special Summoned "Dragon Spirit of White" is treated as an Effect Monster on the field. Therefore, since you are Special Summoning an Effect Monster, you cannot activate the effect of "Pacifis, the Phantasm City" during the same turn. (This also includes the effect of "Pacifis, the Phantasm City" that Special Summons a Phantasm Spiral Token.)[6]
- Q: "Pacifis, the Phantasm City" is face-up in my Field Zone. In this situation, if I activate "Burst Rebirth" and Special Summon a monster in face-down Defense Position, can I activate either effect of "Pacifis, the Phantasm City" during the same turn?
- A: In this scenario, if you Special Summoned a Normal Monster with the effect of "Burst Rebirth", you can activate the effect of "Pacifis, the Phantasm City" this turn. If you Special Summoned an Effect Monster with the effect of "Burst Rebirth", you cannot activate the effect of "Pacifis, the Phantasm City" this turn.[7]
