Card Rulings:Poison Draw Frog

OCG Rulings
- The effect of "Poison Draw Frog" is a Trigger Effect that is activated from the Graveyard. (It does not target.)[1]
- This effect can be activated during the Damage Step.[1]
- If a face-down Defense Position "Poison Draw Frog" is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard after being flipped by battle, this effect can be activated.[1]
- If a face-down Defense Position "Poison Draw Frog" is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard by "Dark Hole", this effect cannot be activated.[1]
- If a face-up "Poison Draw Frog" is Tributed for "Hydra Viper", then you can activate the effect of "Poison Draw Frog" and draw 1 card.[2]
TCG Rulings
These TCG rulings were issued by Konami before the introduction of Problem-Solving Card Text. Since the introduction of the new text structure, individual card rulings for the TCG are no longer issued or actively maintained.[3] They have never been formally overturned as a whole and can still be correct, as long as they follow the official gameplay rules and do not contradict card text. |
Mentions in Other Rulings
- Hydra Viper: If you Tribute “Poison Draw Frog” for the attack, you can activate its effect.
Previously Official Rulings
These TCG rulings were issued by Upper Deck Entertainment and have since been declared unofficial by Konami.[4] They were previously considered official and can still be correct, as long as they follow the official gameplay rules, or unless Konami has issued a ruling that says otherwise. - If "Poison Draw Frog" is destroyed by "Acid Trap Hole", you can draw 1 card.
- When a face-up "Poison Draw Frog" equipped to "Relinquished" is sent to the Graveyard, you can draw 1 card.
Mentions in Other Rulings
- D.D. Survivor: If "Macro Cosmos" is active on the field and a face-down "D.D. Survivor" on your side of the field is destroyed by battle, its effect will not activate. "D.D. Survivor" needs to be face-up when it is selected as an attack target in order for its effect to activate. (Similar to "Poison Draw Frog".)
- Giant Kozaky: Like "Atomic Firefly", "Fox Fire", and "Poison Draw Frog", if a face-down "Giant Kozaky" is attacked and destroyed, its effect is not applied. However, if a face-down "Giant Kozaky" is attacked, and is not destroyed by the attack, if "Kozaky" is not face-up on the field, then "Giant Kozaky" is destroyed by its own effect after damage calculation, and damage is inflicted by its effect.

Rules posted online will be limited to super-complicated and really weird situations. Imagine going down to a dozen pages of card rules, instead of a thousand. It could happen.
