Card Rulings:Princess of Tsurugi
OCG Rulings
- The effect of "Princess of Tsurugi" is a Trigger Effect that activates on the field. (The effect does not target.)[1]
- The effect always activates if "Princess of Tsurugi" is flipped face-up. (It also activates during the Damage Step. It activates even if your opponent controls no Spell/Trap Cards, but since they control no Spell/Trap Cards, the resulting damage to your opponent becomes 0.)[1]
- Inflict 500 damage to your opponent for each Spell/Trap Card they control when the effect resolves. (This also includes face-down cards in the Spell & Trap Zone and Field Zone.)[1]
- If a Normal Trap Card or a Quick-Play Spell Card is chained to "Princess of Tsurugi"'s effect, the Spell/Trap Card remains on the field until the chain finishes resolving, and is still counted for the damage of "Princess of Tsurugi"'s effect.
- Example: If "Just Desserts" is chained to "Princess of Tsurugi", then "Just Desserts" is on the field when resolving the effect of "Princess of Tsurugi", so the activated "Just Desserts" is included in the amount of damage received.[2]
Previously Official Rulings
These TCG rulings were issued by Upper Deck Entertainment and have since been declared unofficial by Konami.[3] They were previously considered official and can still be correct, as long as they follow the official gameplay rules, or unless Konami has issued a ruling that says otherwise.
