OCG Rulings

  • "Destroy this card during your 3rd End Phase after activation" is not treated as a Trap Card effect.[1]
  • The effect "Once per turn, if a "SPYRAL" monster is Special Summoned to your field (except during the Damage Step): You can target 1 monster your opponent controls; take control of it until the End Phase, but it cannot attack directly this turn" makes a Chain Link. (The effect targets 1 monster on your opponent's side of the field. It cannot be activated during the Damage Step.)[1]
  • The effect "If a "SPYRAL" monster(s) you control would be destroyed by battle or card effect, you can banish this card from your Graveyard instead of destroying 1 of those "SPYRAL" monsters" does not make a Chain Link. (It can be applied even during the Damage Step.)[1]

Q&A Rulings

A: In this scenario, since the activated effect of "SPYRAL MISSION - Recapture" already resolved successfully, you will still have control of "SPYRAL Quik-Fix" until the End Phase even if "SPYRAL MISSION - Recapture" is destroyed by "Mystical Space Typhoon". (The effect that prevents that monster from attacking directly also still applies.)[2]
A: In this scenario, the "SPYRAL Quik-Fix" that you took control of is no longer affected by the effect of "SPYRAL MISSION - Recapture" that prevents it from attacking directly. (If it is flipped face-up during the same turn, it can attack directly normally.) However, the part of the effect that allows you to gain control of it until the End Phase still applies as usual, and "SPYRAL Quik-Fix" will return to your opponent during the End Phase.[3]
A: Even if the monster targeted with the effect of "SPYRAL MISSION - Recapture" is in face-down Defense Position when it resolves, the effects are applied normally. (In this scenario, you will gain control of "SPYRAL Quik-Fix". If it is flipped face-up this turn, it cannot attack directly.)[4]
