OCG Rulings

• The "When the effect of a face-up Spell/Trap Card your opponent controls is activated: Destroy that card, also, after that, Set this card face-down instead of sending it to the Graveyard." effect is applied when this card is activated. (It does not target. It must be chained directly to the activation of the effect of a Spell/Trap Card. It cannot be activated during the Damage Step.)

• The "Destroy that card" and "Set this card face-down instead of sending it to the Graveyard." are not considered to happen simultaneously.

• The "If this card is sent to the Graveyard: You can target 1 "Junk" monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target in Defense Position." effect is activated from the Graveyard and it starts a Chain Link. (It targets 1 "Junk" monster in your Graveyard. It can be activated during the Damage Step.)

• This effect can be activated even if this card is sent to the Graveyard from the hand or Deck. It can also be activated even if it is sent to the Graveyard as cost to activate another card effect.

• When resolving "Scrap-Iron Statue", if "Scrap-Iron Statue" was destroyed, "Set this card face-down instead of sending it to the Graveyard." is not applied, but "Destroy that card" is applied as usual.
  • If the effect of "Dragon Ravine" is activated, "Scrap-Iron Statue" is activated in a chain, and "Mystical Space Typhoon" is activated in a chain, destroying that "Scrap-Iron Statue", "Dragon Ravine" is still destroyed.

• This card can be activated when the "Once per turn, while this card is equipped to a monster as an Equip Card by a card effect, you can Special Summon this card." effect of "Dragunity Phalanx" is activated. In this case, "Dragunity Phalanx" is destroyed, and its effect is not applied.

• This card cannot be activated when "Qliphort Scout" is activated on the Pendulum Zone. This card can be activated when the "Once per turn: You can pay 800 LP; add 1 "Qli" card from your Deck to your hand, except "Qliphort Scout"." effect of "Qliphort Scout" is activated. (In this case, "Qliphort Scout" is destroyed, and its effect is not applied.)

• This card can be activated when the effect of a face-up Spell/Trap Card like those of Continuous Spell/Trap Cards, Field Spell Cards, Equip Spell Cards, Pendulum Monsters on Pendulum Zones, etc.. are activated. Therefore, this card cannot be activated when a Spell/Trap Card is activated. (This card cannot be activated when the effect of a Continuous Trap Card is activated in the same Chain Link in which that card was activated.)
