OCG Rulings
- The effect "While you control another Pyro-Type monster, this card cannot be attacked" is a Continuous Effect.[1]
- If there are only 2 "Solar Flare Dragons" in the player's Monster Zones, and no other monsters, the effect of each "Solar Flare Dragon" is applied and neither can be attacked.[1]
- The effect "During each of your End Phases: Inflict 500 damage to your opponent" is a Trigger Effect. (It does not target.)[1]
- The effect to inflict damage to the opponent can only be activated once during the End Phase of each of your turns. (It cannot be activated multiple times in the same End Phase.)[1]
Previously Official Rulings
These TCG rulings were issued by Upper Deck Entertainment and have since been declared unofficial by Konami.[2] They were previously considered official and can still be correct, as long as they follow the official gameplay rules, or unless Konami has issued a ruling that says otherwise. - If you have 2 "Solar Flare Dragons", or a "Solar Flare Dragon" equipped with "Raregold Armor" and another Pyro-Type monster, your opponent cannot attack.
- Even if "Solar Flare Dragon's" Type is changed, as long as there is another Pyro-Type monster on your side of the field, "Solar Flare Dragon" cannot be attacked.
- You can apply "Barrel Behind the Door" to the effect of "Solar Flare Dragon".
Mentions in Other Rulings
- Patrician of Darkness: The effect of "Patrician of Darkness" does not override the effects of..."Solar Flare Dragon", etc. You cannot choose an attack target prevented by the effects of these cards...
