Card Rulings:Spawn Alligator
OCG Rulings
- The effect of "Spawn Alligator" which Special Summons a monster which was Tributed is a Trigger Effect.[1]
- The effect of "Spawn Alligator" which Special Summons a monster which was Tributed starts a Chain Link during the End Phase.[1]
- If you Tribute Summon "Spawn Alligator" and your opponent controls it during the End Phase, then your opponent activates the effect of "Spawn Alligator", and the Tributed monster is Special Summoned to the opponent's side of the field.[2]
- During the End Phase "Spawn Alligator" will Special Summon the Tributed monster if that monster was Reptile-Type while it was on the field. If you Tribute a Reptile-Type monster whose Type is being treated as something else by the effect of "DNA Surgery", then you cannot activate the effect of "Spawn Alligator" during your End Phase, even though the monster is a Reptile-Type monster while in the Graveyard.[3]
- Suppose you Tribute Set "Spawn Alligator" by Tributing a Reptile-Type monster. If "Spawn Alligator" is face-up during that End Phase because it was flipped by a card effect, then its effect will activate and you will Special Summon the Tributed Reptile-Type monster.[4]
