Card Rulings:Swordsman of Revealing Light
OCG Rulings
- The "You can Special Summon this card from your hand" effect is a Trigger Effect that is activated from your hand. The "if this card's DEF is higher than the attacking monster's ATK, destroy that monster." effect resolves as part of that effect. (This effect does not target.)[1]
- Gaining the "●" effect is not a Continuous, Ignition, Trigger or Quick Effect.[1]
- The "●" effect is an effect that is permanently gained by the Xyz Monster that uses this card as an Xyz Material.[1]
- When the "You can Special Summon this card from your hand" effect resolves, if the attacking monster's ATK is higher than this card’s DEF, then the last thing to happen is the Special Summon of "Swordsman of Revealing Light" and your opponent can activate "Double Trap Hole".[2]
- When the "You can Special Summon this card from your hand" effect resolves, if the opponent’s attacking monster has less ATK than this card’s DEF, then the "if this card's DEF is higher than the attacking monster's ATK, destroy that monster." effect is applied and the last action to occur is not the Special Summon. Therefore, the opponent cannot activate "Torrential Tribute".[3]
- If an Xyz Monster that was Xyz Summoned using "Swordsman of Revealing Light" as an Xyz Material is flipped face-down by "Book of Moon", then the "● Once per turn, this card cannot be destroyed by battle." effect is not applied.[4]
- While "Skill Drain" is active, the "● Once per turn, this card cannot be destroyed by battle." effect gained by an Xyz Monster that was Xyz Summoned using "Swordsman of Revealing Light" as an Xyz Material is not lost, but its effects will be negated. Later, if "Skill Drain" is no longer applied, then the "● Once per turn, this card cannot be destroyed by battle." effect will be reapplied.[5]
