Card Rulings:Thunder Dragon Colossus
OCG Rulings
- This monster can be Special Summoned by 2 methods; by using a card such as "Polymerization" to fuse 1 "Thunder Dragon" and 1 Thunder-Type monster, or by its own procedure by Tributing 1 non-Fusion Thunder-Type Effect Monster in your Monster Zone during your Main Phase during the turn you or your opponent activated the effect of a Thunder-Type monster in the hand. (Both methods are treated as "properly" Special Summoning this monster.)[1]
- When Special Summoning this card with "Polymerization", etc., it is Special Summoned by that card's activated effect, but when you Special Summon it by Tributing a Thunder-Type Effect Monster in your Monster Zone, it does not start a Chain.[1]
- The effect of this card that prevents your opponent from adding cards from their Deck to their hand except by drawing is a Continuous Effect.[1]
- The effect of this card that allows you to banish a Thunder-Type monster from your Graveyard instead when it would be destroyed by battle or card effect is a Continuous Effect. (This effect can be applied during the Damage Step.)[1]
Q&A Rulings
- Q: When I activated the effect of "Thunder Dragon" in my hand, my opponent activated "Divine Wrath" and negated the activation. During this turn, can I Special Summon a "Thunder Dragon Colossus" by its own procedure?
- A: If the activation of a Thunder-Type monster’s effect in your hand was negated, as in this scenario, you cannot Special Summon "Thunder Dragon Colossus" by its own procedure.[2]
