Q&A Rulings

  • Q: I Special Summon a "Time Maiden" from my hand with its own effect. At that time, my opponent activates "Torrential Tribute" and destroys it. During the same turn, can I activate the effect of "Time Maiden" in my Graveyard that Special Summons a "Timelord" monster from my Deck?
A: The effect of "Time Maiden" that activates in the Graveyard cannot be used during the same turn that you Special Summon monsters by other ways. In this scenario, since you Special Summoned "Time Maiden" from your hand this turn, you cannot activate the effect of "Time Maiden" in your Graveyard.[1]
  • Q: When Special Summoning a "Time Maiden" from my hand with its own effect, my opponent activated "Solemn Judgment" and negated the Summon.
In this scenario, although the Special Summon of "Time Maiden" was negated by "Solemn Judgment", you cannot activate its effect from your Graveyard.[2]
