Q&A Rulings
- Q: I activate "Twilight Cloth", targeting "Jain, Twilightsworn General". If my opponent chains "Book of Moon" and changes "Jain, Twilightsworn General" to face-down Defense Position, how does "Twilight Cloth" resolve?
- A: When resolving "Twilight Cloth", even if the targeted monster is in face-down Defense Position, you still banish one or more "Lightsworn" monsters from your Graveyard, but the targeted monster does not gain any ATK or DEF.[1]
- Q: When the second effect of "Twilight Cloth" is activated in the Graveyard, does it only affect "Lightsworn" monsters that are face-up on my field at the time it resolves?
- A: The effect of "Twilight Cloth" that activates in the Graveyard is applied to all "Lightsworn" monsters that are face-up on your field during this turn. "Lightsworn" monsters that are face-up on your field when the effect resolves, as well as "Lightsworn" monsters that you Summon afterward, will be affected.[2]
- Q: Can I activate the second effect of "Twilight Cloth" when it is sent from the Deck to the Graveyard if I do not have any "Lightsworn" monsters on my field?
- A: The effect of "Twilight Cloth" that activates in the Graveyard is applied to all "Lightsworn" monsters that are face-up on your field during this turn. "Lightsworn" monsters that are face-up on your field when the effect resolves, as well as "Lightsworn" monsters that you Summon afterward, will be affected. Therefore, even if you do not currently have any "Lightsworn" monsters on your field, you can activate the effect of "Twilight Cloth".[3]
