OCG Rulings

  • The effect of this card that prevents your opponent from activating cards/effects of a certain type is an Ignition Effect. (It does not target.)[1]
  • Banishing a “Vendread” card from your Graveyard is the cost to activate this effect. Also, you declare a card type (Monster, Spell, or Trap) when activating the effect.[1]
  • The effect of this card that adds a Ritual Monster from your Deck to your hand and sends a “Vendread” monster from your Deck to the Graveyard is a Trigger Effect that activates in the Graveyard. (It does not target, and can be activated during the Damage Step.)[1]
  • Adding a Ritual Monster from your Deck to your hand and sending a “Vendread” monster from your Deck to the Graveyard happen simultaneously.[1]

Q&A Rulings

A: If the effect of "Vendread Battlelord" was activated by declaring Monster, your opponent cannot activate any monster effects. In this scenario, although "Paleozoic Anomalocaris" is unaffected by other monsters’ effects, your opponent cannot activate its effect during this turn.[2]
