Card Rulings:White Wing Magician
OCG Rulings
- The Pendulum Effect "Once per turn, when an activated card or effect resolves that targets a DARK Spellcaster-Type monster you control, negate that effect, then destroy this card" does not make a Chain Link. (It does not target. It can be applied even during the Damage Step.)[1]
- If a DARK Spellcaster-Type monster in the player's Monster Zone is targeted by a monster effect, activated Spell/Trap Card, or the activated effect of a Spell/Trap Card, when that effect resolves, that effect resolution can be negated. (If it was negated, perform "then destroy this card".)[1]
- The application of "Once per turn, when an activated card or effect resolves that targets a DARK Spellcaster-Type monster you control, negate that effect" and the application of "then destroy this card" are not treated as being done at the same time.[1]
- "(This card is always treated as a "Synchro Dragon" card.)" is not treated as an effect.[1]
- "If this Pendulum Summoned card is used for a Synchro Summon, banish it" is not treated as an effect.[1]
- "White Wing Magician" is only banished if it was Special Summoned by Pendulum Summon and is used as a Synchro Material for a Synchro Summon. (It does not make a Chain Link.)[1]
- If a face-up "White Wing Magician" in the Monster Zone that was Normal Summoned or Special Summoned by a method other than Pendulum Summon is used as a Synchro Material for a Synchro Summon, it is placed face-up in the Extra Deck as normal.[1]
