Card Rulings:Witchcrafter Bystreet
OCG Rulings
- This card's effect that prevents each "Witchcrafter" monster on your field from being destroyed by battle or card effect once per turn does not start a Chain.[1]
- If there are multiple face-up "Witchcrafter" monsters in your Monster Zone, each one is prevented from being destroyed by battle or card effect once each turn.[1]
- This card's effect that allows you to send it to the GY when activating the effect of a "Witchcrafter" monster instead of discarding does not start a Chain.[1]
- This card's effect that places it face-up in your Spell & Trap Zone from your GY starts a Chain and activates in the GY. (It does not target.)[1]
- This effect can be activated during your own End Phase if this card is present in your GY and a "Witchcrafter" monster is face-up in your Monster Zone. (However, you cannot activate this effect during the turn you applied the effect of "Witchcrafter Bystreet" that allows you to send it to the GY when activating the effect of a "Witchcrafter" monster instead of discarding.)[1]
- When resolving this card's effect that places it face-up in your Spell & Trap Zone, even if you no longer have a "Witchcrafter" monster face-up in your Monster Zone, the effect is applied normally.[1]
Q&A Rulings
- Q: While "Witchcrafter Pittore" is face-up in my Monster Zone, I activate a "Witchcrafter Bystreet" from my hand. If my opponent chains "Mystical Space Typhoon" and targets that "Witchcrafter Bystreet", can I then chain the effect of "Witchcrafter Pittore" and send "Witchcrafter Bystreet" to the GY as the cost?
- A: The effect of "Witchcrafter Bystreet" can only be applied once the card itself has finished resolving. In this scenario, when activating the effect of a "Witchcrafter" monster in the same Chain as the activation of "Witchcrafter Bystreet", you cannot apply the effect of "Witchcrafter Bystreet".[2][3]
