OCG Rulings

  • [Regarding the effect "You can Tribute this card from your hand or face-up from your side of the field; Tribute monsters from your hand or field, then Ritual Summon 1 "Nekroz" Ritual Monster from your hand whose Level exactly equals the total Levels of those monsters."][1]
    • This is an Ignition Effect that is activated from the hand or field. (It does not target. Tributing this card is a cost to activate this effect. Tributing monsters and Ritual Summoning are not considered to happen simultaneously.)
    • A "Nekroz" Ritual Monster Summoned using this effect is treated as being properly Ritual Summoned.
    • When Ritual Summoning using this effect, the Level of "Zefrasaber, Swordmaster of the Nekroz" that was Tributed as a cost does not count.
    • When Ritual Summoning using this effect, you can Tribute face-down Defense Position monsters you control.
  • [Regarding the effect "You cannot Pendulum Summon monsters, except "Nekroz" and "Zefra" monsters. This effect cannot be negated."][1]
    • This effect does not start a Chain Link.
    • While ihis effect is being applied, monsters other than "Nekroz" or "Zefra" monsters can still be Special Summoned if they are not Pendulum Summoned.

A: If you activate the effect of "Zefrasaber, Swordmaster of the Nekroz", you can Ritual Summon "Nekroz of Sophia". Since "Nekroz of Sophia" cannot be Special Summoned, except by Ritual Summoning it from your hand using 3 monsters on your side of the field with different Types, even if you Summon it using the effect of "Zefrasaber, Swordmaster of the Nekroz", you must meet these requirements.[2]
