- "Des Wombat" is useful against Burn Decks, thus making it a great Side Deck card.
- It can also prevent effect damage from "Dark Snake Syndrome", "Power Bond", "Graverobber", "Tremendous Fire", "Meteor of Destruction" and other powerful effect damage cards.
- If you play this card along with "Astral Barrier" and "Spirit Barrier" you create a situation in which the opponent can't inflict any damage to you.
