Card Tips:Diabolos, King of the Abyss
- This card can be searched by "Return of the Monarchs", "Mikazukinoyaiba, the Moon Fang Dragon", "Starliege Seyfert", "Draconnection", "Chaos Zone", "Dwarf Star Dragon Planeter", "Magical Contract Door", "Witch of the Black Forest", and other generic searchers.
- This card can be Tribute Summoned with one Tribute using "Double Coston", "Keeper of the Shrine" and "The First Monarch".
- "Totem Dragon" could be used in the case of a card changing its attribute to DARK, such as "DNA Transplant", is in play.
- Note that despite the fact that this card has tricky summoning conditions, you can still Normal Summon it without a tribute if you lower its level with something like "Star Blast", since it only places restrictions on Special and Tribute Summoning.
- "Diabolos, King of the Abyss" is a good combo to use with "Ectoplasmer". Because "Diabolos" cannot be tributed for card effects, "Ectoplasmer" will only tribute your opponent's face-up monsters.
- In Chaos Dragon Deck you can use "Advance Force" to tribute summon this card by tributing "Darkflare Dragon". You can use "Eclipse Wyvern" to add "Diabolos" to your hand.
- Malefic Deck can do the same because all of them are easily searched and special summoned high level DARK monsters.
- You can use "DNA Transplant" to overlook the fact that "Diabolos" needs DARK tributes.
- This card's effect that lets you see the card your opponent will draw is a very good advantage when you have an active "Deck Devastation Virus" or "Eradicator Epidemic Virus". You can manipulate his/her Draw Phase, by allowing him/her to draw the card that will be destroyed depending on the active virus card.
- Dark World Can provide easy tributes for this card, as well as for "Viruses".
- Use "Cost Down" and "Soul Exchange" to make this card easier to summon.
- This card can be returned from your Graveyard with "Erebus the Underworld Monarch".
- The effect to control your opponent's draw gives you a huge advantage, especially against a Lightsworn and Dark Armed Dragon decks and players who like to stack their deck.
- Use "Fires of Doomsday" at the end of your opponent's turn, to summon this card in your turn.
- Use this card in tandem with something that lets you look at your opponent's hand so you can determine whether or not you should let them draw their next card.
- "Star Blast" and "Mausoleum of the Emperor" can aid in summoning this card.
- This card excels in a Dark Scorpion Deck.
- This card is safe from "Share the Pain".
- "Giant Germ" helps to swarm the field so you can summon this card.
- This card can stall Exodia Decks from applying the main card's effect by placing the pieces on bottom of the Deck.
- This card is much easier to "Tribute Summon" with "Domain of the True Monarchs".
- You can search "Domain of the True Monarchs" with "Tenacity of the Monarchs" revealing this card from your hand.
- Combo this card with "Mind Crush". You will get to look at your opponent's draw and immediately discard all copies of it.
- "Tsukuyomi" with "Mask of Darkness" with this combo will effectively redo this combo over and over again until you have dealt all the damage you need.
