  • It is not necessary to have numerous monsters in the Graveyard to Summon this card. Cards that discard themselves, such as "King of the Swamp", or mill from the Deck, such as "Foolish Burial", can be used to get a single monster in the Graveyard, permitting the Summon of this card on the first turn.
  • This card can be used to recycle monster cards whose effects have already been used, such as "Nimble Momonga".
  • Use "Snake Rain" and select 4 Normal Reptile monsters. If a Normal Monster was discarded for the cost of "Snake Rain", this card will gain a total of 5000 ATK.
  • This card can be used in combination with "Fiend Comedian" to either banish the opponent's cards, or if guessed incorrectly, give this card a huge ATK boost.
  • In a simple Deck, this card's condition that Special Summons itself can give you quick Tribute fodder for monsters such as "Monarch" monsters while recycling the monsters in your Graveyard.
  • This card works well with "Lycanthrope" and an Ojama Deck. When this card is Special Summoned, use "Advanced Ritual Art" to dump three Ojama monsters and Summon "Lycanthrope". "Exodius" will gain 3000 (4000 if you declare an attack) ATK, plus the opponent will receive extra damage from the effect of "Lycanthrope".
  • If this card is destroyed or removed from the field before its last effect is activated, "Backup Soldier" can be used to return the "Exodia" parts in the Graveyard to the hand and get an alternative automatic win.
  • A Pendulum/Xyz hybrid deck centered around Normal Pendulum monsters (such as "Igknights") can get enormous mileage out of Exodius' effects, even without utilizing the alternative win condition. Summoning Exodius can recycle Pendulums that were used as Xyz materials AND return the Xyz monsters to the Extra Deck, while Exodius' Atk gets a boost every time you remove Xyz materials. This works well with Xyx monsters that remove multiple materials at once ("Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon").

Traditional Format[edit]

  • Once this card is Summoned, use "Painful Choice" and select five Normal Monsters to give it a 4000 ATK point boost.
  • This card can be used in a combo with "Last Turn", if there are a significant number of Normal Monsters in the hand or on the field. Activate "Last Turn", targeting this card for its effect. If there are 3 or more Normal Monsters either in the hand or on the field when "Last Turn" is activated, this card will be significantly stronger than the opponent's chosen monster.
