- This card can be searched by "Infinitrack River Stormer", "Clockwork Night", "Machina Metalcruncher", "Urgent Schedule", "Gear Gigant X", "Road Warrior", "UFOroid", "Machina Armored Unit", "Psychic Arsenal", "Biofalcon", "Aussa the Earth Charmer, Immovable", "Giant Rat", "BOXer", "Frontline Observer", "Gigantic Spright", "Small Scuffle", "Packet Link", "Mimiclay", "Serpentine Princess", "Battle Royal Mode - Joining", "Vampire Dragon", "Rescue Ferret", "Umbramirage the Elemental Lord", "Sangan", "Witch of the Black Forest", and other generic searchers.
- This card is a staple for Synchro-centered Decks due to its revival power that is compatible with Tuner monsters as well as its low Level.
- You can discard this card to Special summon "Quickdraw Synchron", then Special Summon this card from the Graveyard. Tune both monsters to bring out "Nitro Warrior", "Junk Berserker" or "Junk Archer" easily.
- If you revive this card with its effect, removing it from the field will banish it as a backlash. This can be negated with "Imperial Iron Wall".
- You can create an OTK by using a Tuner monster, "Imperial Iron Wall", and a card like "Cannon Soldier". "Emergency Teleport" works well in the combo (See Quillbolt Loop).
- Use this card with "D.D.R. - Different Dimension Reincarnation".
- You can set an unlimited mill up with this card and a Tuner monster and 1 or more "Soul-Absorbing Bone Tower" in addition to "Imperial Iron Wall" and "Zombie World".
- This card can be Summoned along with another Level 2 monster, as well as "Junk Synchron", to Synchro Summon "Junk Warrior" and contribute a boost.
- ** You can Summon "Junk Synchron" and Summon a monster using its effect, then Special Summon this card using its own effect and Synchro Summon a Level 7 Synchro like "Black Rose Dragon" or "Scrap Archfiend".
- An even more powerful version of this combo is used the effect of "Quickdraw Synchron" to discard this card and revive it. Also because "Quickdraw" can replace any Tuner monster in your Deck, you can literally Summon almost every Synchro Monster whose Level is 11 or less for the cost of three cards, as long as the required Tuner monster (for some) is still in your Deck (because you haven't used your Normal Summon this turn).
- If you have "The Tricky" in your hand, this combo will let you Synchro Summon a Level 12 Synchro monster, and you still haven't use your Normal Summon!
- You can easily bring out a Level 8 Synchro Monster, like "Red Dragon Archfiend", by discarding this card to Special Summon "The Tricky", then Normal Summoning a Level 1 Tuner (like "Turbo Synchron"). Then, revive this card by its own effect and use all 3 for a Level 8 Synchro.
- Combo this card with "Inferno Reckless Summon".
- If you have 3 copies of this card you can summon one of them, then use "Chain Destruction" to send the other 2 to the Graveyard.
- You can use this card to reduce the ATK of "Light and Darkness Dragon" in a similar way to "Treeborn Frog".
- An easy way to Summon "Red Nova Dragon" is to use two "Dark Tinkers", this card and "The Puppet Magic of Dark Ruler". While you control "Dragon Archfiend", Summon "Dark Tinker", and use "Quillbolt". Then, activate "The Puppet Magic of Dark Ruler" and Special Summon your second "Dark Tinker" from your Graveyard, since "Quillbolt" will be banished anyways.
- If used in an Xyz Summon, "Quillbolt" will not be banished. This allows for an OTK by having 1 Level 2 Tuner on the field and 3 "Quillbolts" in the Graveyard. Summon the Level 2 Tuner, then Special Summon your "Quillbolt" from the Graveyard. Xyz Summon using the 2 "Quillbolt" into "Daigusto Phoenix" and use its effect, detaching 1 of the attached "Quillbolts". Then Special Summon "Quillbolt" again and repeat the process once more until you have 2 "Phoenixes" on the field, 1 "Quillbolt" and 1 Level 2 Tuner. Use the final 2 monsters as Xyz Material for the final "Phoenix". If the opponent controls no monsters, attack to deal 9000 damage.
- Don't forget that this card is a Machine-Type monster:
- Use "Future Fusion" on "Chimeratech Overdragon" to send multiple copies to your Graveyard.
- Overlay any 2 level 4 Machine-Type monsters to Xyz Summon "Gear Gigant X", then use its effect by detaching a Xyz Material to add a copy to your hand.
- This is an Ideal card to power up a "Junk Warrior", Normal summon a "Junk Synchron", and use its effect to Special Summon a different Level 2 Tuner. Then use the effect of "Quilbolt" to Special Summon itself (and another "Quillbolt") then Synchro Summon "Junk Warrior" without using "Quilbolt" as material. "Junk Warrior" will have 3900 ATK. Use your 2 "Quillbolts" to Xyz Summon "Gachi Gachi Gantetsu" to increase the ATK of "Junk Warrior" even more.

- This card combine well with "Card of Safe Return", while "Imperial Iron Wall" is face-up on the field.
- An easy way to put this card into the Graveyard is "Painful Choice".
