- "Dragon Shrine", "Dragon Ravine", or "Foolish Burial" can be used to send this card from the Deck to the GY, which can then Special Summon itself via its effect.
- When used as discard fodder for "Pendulum Call", search "Supreme King Gate Magician" as one of the two "Magician" cards, then use this card's effects to Summon itself then search "Supreme King Gate Zero" which can then be activated in the Pendulum Zone. This then enables "Supreme King Gate Magician" to Special Summon itself, providing two free bodies to be used as Link Material for a Link Summon.
- If you open with this card and "Sky Iris" (or a way to search it out such as "Terraforming" or "Planet Pathfinder"), you could play this card as scale then activate this card's effect to place either "Supreme King Gate Zero" or "Supreme King Gate Infinity" from your deck. After that, use Sky Iris to destroy this card and add an "Odd-Eyes" monster (such as "Odd-Eyes Mirage Dragon" or "Performapal Odd-Eyes Unicorn" if you used Zero, or "Odd-Eyes Persona Dragon"/"Performapal Odd-Eyes Light Phoenix" for Infinity) to your hand. Play that monster as scale, and Pendulum Summon Darkwurm from your extra deck and anything else applicable from your hand. In doing so, you can search the other "Supreme King Gate" monster you didn't before, activating it next turn after using Sky Iris to destroy the Odd-Eyes scale.
- Drawing two copies of this card, you can also play one in the Pendulum Zone, then place "Supreme King Gate Zero" onto the other Pendulum Zone, and Pendulum Summon the second Darkwurm from your hand to search the second Gate.
