• This card can be searched by "Triple Tactics Thrust", "Endymion, the Mighty Master of Magic", and other generic searchers.

• Activate this card to Special Summon a "Totem Dragon" from your Graveyard. Then, Tribute Summon "Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon" by revealing and using Totem Dragon as the required 2 Tributes. Then, use REDMD's effect to Special Summon a Dragon from your Graveyard. In this scenario, The Shallow Grave effectively allowed you to Special Summon two Dragons to your side of the field, one of which has 2800 ATK. This strategy works better mid- to late-game. It circumvents the fact that normally you would have to wait one turn to actually use the monster summoned by The Shallow Grave while also potentially getting rid of the monster that your opponent summoned.
  • Totem Dragon can be sent to the Graveyard with either "Future Fusion", "Dragon Ravine", "Foolish Burial" or it can be searched out via "Masked Dragon" or "Dread Dragon".

• This card can be very useful to revive monsters with helpful Flip Effects, such as "Gravekeeper's Spy", "Penguin Soldier" and "Morphing Jar", and "Magician of Faith", and "Des Feral Imp".

• This card also works well with cards like "Marshmallon", which will often cause your opponent to waste some monster destruction to begin with. Seeing monsters like "Marshmallon" a second time around can be daunting.

• After you activate this card, activate "Nobleman of Crossout" to take care of whatever monster your opponent sets.

• This card is also good for Exodia decks as you can recycle your "Sangan" or "Emissary of the Afterlife".

• Use this card in conjunction with cards with an effect like "Tyrant Dragon" to destroy the revived monster and another that might have been summoned, while you keep the one you selected.

• Use this card with "Mask of Darkness" and "Spell Reclamation".

• Use this card to ensure your opponent has a defense position monster to take advantage of Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon's effect or any other monster that inflicts double piercing damage.
