- This monster is based on Sun Quan (courtesy name: Zhongmou), from the historical novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms, founder and emperor of the Wu state during the Three Kingdoms Period, having enjoyed the longest reign among all the founders of the Three Kingdoms (Liu Bei and Cao Cao).
- This monster's turtle and snake motif might be referencing the Black Warrior, one of the Four Symbols that corresponds to the Water Element (The Southland's Attribute). Moreover, the turtle and the snake symbolize longevity.
