  • This card seems to be a spiritual predecessor to "Dark-Eyes Illusionist."
    • Both monsters feature conceptually similar designs, including wide, pointed shoulders, underdetailed hands, a lack of a face, and a cloak (particularly in the manga, where the black-and-white artwork gives them an identical color scheme of black stripes on a white body).
    • Both cards feature the word "Illusionist" in their names, and were used by their owner, Maximillion Pegasus in an identical fashion of baiting an attack from Yugi Muto's monster, paralyzing it, taking control of it, and then using the strength of "Dark Magician" against Yugi in the process.
    • Both cards are used at a similar time in the Duel directly after Yugi regains the upper hand against Pegasus.
      • In this sense, "Dark-Eyes Illusionist" can be seen as an upgraded version, as it does not require a support card to use this strategy.
  • In the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga and anime, this card is said to be a very rare one, in that Yugi claims he hasn't seen one before his Duel with Pegasus.
    • Despite this claim, this card has been released as a Common card in the OCG/TCG.
  • This card's OCG/TCG artwork is the vertical version taken from Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel 62 (Duelist Duel 3): "Countdown!!", specifically from the panel where this monster is Summoned.
  • In the French dubbed version of the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime, this card was called "Mage Sans Visage", which translates to "Mage Without [a] Face".
    • In the Portuguese dub of the anime, this card was called "Donzela Sem Rosto", which translates to "Faceless Maiden".
