- This card's name is derived from a similarly named creature from Magic: The Gathering.
- Amongst the Japanese player community, this card holds a similar position to "Shapesnatch" in the TCG community as a joke. But, as "Morinphen" cannot be searched by any monster recruiter like "Sangan", "Mystic Tomato", etc., it is hard to Special Summon from the Deck.
