  • This monster is the "Sacred Beast" counterpart of the Egyptian God card, "Obelisk the Tormentor".
  • Both cards share a blue-colored card border in the anime.
    • Both monsters share the same Level, DIVINE Attribute and Divine-Beast Type in the anime.
      • However, "Raviel's" Attribute and Type was changed to DARK and Fiend-Type upon its release in the OCG/TCG.
    • Both monsters share physical similarities, including a blue color scheme, wings, and muscular humanoid appearance.
    • Both cards share the same ATK, DEF, and feature similar summoning conditions and effects by Tributing monsters in the anime; however, while "Obelisk" can be Normal Summoned by Tributing 3 monsters and can Tribute 2 monsters to gain infinite ATK, "Raviel" can be only Special Summoned by Tributing 3 monsters and can Tribute up to 2 monsters to gain their combined ATK. (In the OCG/TCG, this card only can be Special Summoned by Tributing 3 Fiend-Type monsters and can only Tribute 1 monster to gain their original ATK once per turn.)
  • The Sacred Beasts are named after characters in Judeo-Christianity; therefore "Raviel" is named after Raziel, an angel known as the Angel of Mysteries.
  • According to a Pojo post by Dan Scheidegger (an Upper Deck Entertainment employee), this card was originally approved to have "Genma" in its TCG name, but a 3rd company decided "they didn't like the word."
    • In another Pojo post, Dan further explained that this was not for censorship reasons, but rather because the company did not think the name was "cool enough."
