"~Changes~ Preparing for the Tournament and a Looming Shadow" is the sixth chapter in the video game Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's World Championship 2011: Over the Nexus.

Summary[edit]

Back in the City, Toru announces that the team is going to enter the World Racing Grand Prix. They decide on a team name (between "Future Speed", "Shining Storm", "Caprice Trio", "Triwinds", and "Twilight Moon") and begin maintenance on their Duel Runners. The player discovers that Yusei's left some of his tools behind and decides to return them to him. At Yusei's garage, they introduced to Bruno, the mechanic of Team 5D's, while Trudge and Mina come in and inform the group about a mysterious assailant named Ghost that has been attacking Turbo Duelists off the roads.

After returning to Toru's garage, the team finishes maintenance and decide to take their Duel Runners for a test-drive on the highway. However, the player is interrupted by Ghost, who challenges them to a Turbo Duel. Ghost must be defeated after he Summons Meklord Emperor Wisel. Toru and Misaki later warn the player to be careful of future run-ins with Ghost.

Back at the garage, Crow introduces the team to Akiza, a newly-initiated Turbo Duelist. They decide to have a practice Turbo Duel to help her learn the ropes. The player first duels with Akiza. After winning, the player duels with Crow while Toru duels with Akiza. After the duel practice, Crow is not yet satisfied and challenges the player to a race. While racing, a mysterious Turbo Duelist appears and tells the player that they have to evolve their Synchro Summon in order to defeat the Meklords, and then leaves as quickly as she appears.

A few days later, Klaus complains of noisy Duel Runners in the middle of the night. The player tries to confront Toru, only to find that his Duel Runner has been stolen. The player approaches Yusei to find out if he knows anything, and discovers that Jack's Duel Runner was stolen too. Jack runs off to find the perpetrator, while Trudge and Mina suggest that the player investigate Satellite due to a sudden, suspicious increase of cheap Duel Runner parts on sale. They go to the shop that sold them fake parts years ago, and finds the shopkeeper selling many Duel Runner parts at low prices. The player duels with him for information, and he reveals that he bought the parts from Syd.

At the port, the player overhears two of Syd's henchmen, Ida and Kameno, talking about selling Jack's Duel Runner. They discover and corner the player, but Jack arrives and challenges the henchmen to a Tag Duel. As the henchmen flee and Jack gives pursuit, Syd comes in and Duels the player himself. Jack makes short work of the henchmen and then confronts Syd himself, and Sector Security arrives in a nick of time. A cornered Syd tries to flee but remembers that he can't swim, and is apprehended. Sector Security recovers and returns the stolen Duel Runners.

At the garage, Akiza turns up and asks to spar with Misaki. However, Misaki is busy working on the new Duel Runner program. Akiza suggests that Bruno could help, while venting her frustration over Yusei neglecting her. The player delivers the news to Bruno and Yusei. Bruno heads over, while Yusei goes to apologize to Akiza. As the player leaves, they meet Leo and Luna, and Leo challenges the player to a duel. After the duel, the player runs into Jack on the way out, who informs the player that Bruno has completed the Duel Runner program.

The next day, the team decide to test the new program at the combat lane. Shortly after a test run, Jack shows up and forces the player to duel with him. The player defeats Jack and his Duel Runner crashes, revealing it to be a robot. The real Jack also shows up, outraged that someone would make a cheap imitation of him.

Somewhere else, Lester bemoans the failure of the Jack robot, and Primo suggests that they should have stuck with mass-produced Ghosts. However, the Infinity Circuit finally appears, and Jakob puts his plan into motion to complete it.
