Colorful rare
This article is about OCG/TCG cards featuring nonstandard name foil colors. For the rarities in Yu-Gi-Oh! 7 Trials to Glory: World Championship Tournament 2005, see Sparkling Yellow Rare, Yellow Rare, Blue Rare, Red Rare, and Gray Rare.
Colorful rares are Rare, Ultra Rare, or Secret Rare cards which use a color of foil for their names other than the standard silver (for Rare) or gold (for Ultra Rare). The term "colorful rare" comes from the rarity ratios listed on card packs, which mention "colorful Ultra Rares". A number of colors have appeared to date: black, white, blue, green, purple, bronze, silver, and red.
- Battle Pack: Epic Dawn featured black foil, except for Xyz Monsters which instead used white foil
- Battle Pack 2: War of the Giants featured black foil
- Dragons of Legend: The Complete Series, Legendary Duelists: Season 1, and Legendary Duelists: Season 2 featured variant Ultra Rares with blue, green, and purple foil
- The Duelist League 2010 participation cards featured blue, green, bronze, and silver foil
- The Duelist League 2, Duelist League 3, and Duelist League 13 through Duelist League 18 participation cards featured purple, red, green, and blue foil
- "Ten Thousand Dragon" featured red foil

OCG Test promotional card, Yu-Gi-Oh! United Duel Tournament, Yu-Gi-Oh! at Home Sweepstakes, and Palladium Oracle Mahad Sweepstakes promotional cards all featured blue foil
