Forum:"Once Per Turn"

Does "Once Per Turn" mean I can only activate the monster's effect once during my turn regardless if I have more than one copy of that same card? Or does it mean that I can only activate the monster's effect "Once Per Turn" for that individual card and if I had a second copy of the same card on the field then I can activate its effect too.

Activating Same Effect Only Once REGARDLESS of same number of copies VS Activating Same Effect Once Per Individual Same Name Card of Card.

E.g. Player A has two face-up Summoner Monks on the field and is able to activate its effect only once regardless if Player A has two copies of Summoner Monk on the field because its effect said "Once Per Turn."

Player B has two-face up Summoner Monks on the field is able to activate the effect two times by activating the effect "Once Per Turn" for each individual Summoner Monk.

Which is the correct ruling and/or example? --SittingWonderDuck (talkcontribs) 14:47, October 10, 2011 (UTC)

1) "Once per turn" have nothing to do with "once during my turn".
2) You can active effect of each card once per turn.
3) If Konami want to restrict the effect, they will say "The effect of ABC can only be actived one per turn", like Mystic Piper or Rescue Rabbit.-- (talkcontribs) 14:53, October 10, 2011 (UTC)

Awesome. Thanks for the clarification. I really appreciate it [: --SittingWonderDuck (talkcontribs) 17:30, October 10, 2011 (UTC)

Does it work for magic cards too? for Card Trader in example? Because I want to run an assault mode deck and the tips for Card Trader says "Do not think that you can use two of this card and two "Volcanic Shell" from your deck. The effect is "once per turn". "

Thanks in advance.

It apply for "everything", unless the card specific say "this effect".-- (talkcontribs) 13:24, October 11, 2011 (UTC)
