Forum:"When exactly 1 card is destroyed" vs Equip Spells

Here's a good question - Let's say you control a monster whose effect activated "when exactly 1 card you control (and no other cards) is destroyed" - for example, "Marina, Princess of Sunflowers". Does that mean the effect will not activate if, say a monster I control is destroyed by battle while equipped with an Equip Spell Card, as the Equip Spell Card is destroyed simultaneously (but for a completely different reason)? Or can the effect activate, since exactly 1 card was destroyed by battle there? Battlemaniac (talk • contribs) 20:19, December 16, 2014 (UTC)

Marina only cares about cards being destroyed by battle or by card effect and sent to the Graveyard. It doesn't care about cards being destroyed by game mechanic.--Lê (talk • contribs) 22:23, December 16, 2014 (UTC)
