Hey guys, it's me Fallensilence. Been a while hasn't it since I responded but it's hard being around with business trying to be the best duelist and all. Well I couldn't have gone far without correcting mistakes and jack, especially from the past 10 years. After getting cards, recovering from card loss and trying to create better strategies, I'm still not pretty good. Then I remembered: why did I start playing Yu-Gi-Oh! in the first place? If I can get 5 or more post about their stories, I will tell you mines. Sorry for sounding like an old man and have fun posting. Fallensilence (talkcontribs) 03:22, April 16, 2011 (UTC)

I remember the first time i took my Gravekeeper's Deck to a tournament. I set a new personal win record. =D Good times... Goooood times... MachinaMan (talkcontribs) 03:41, April 16, 2011 (UTC)

I've had a lot of memories regarding Yu-Gi-Oh, starting from being initiated by my neighbours and playing with a mishmash Deck before the banlist arrived. Loads of arguments were had over nonexistant effects and the like because we didn't exactly know how the card game worked. Then, after some absence from the card game, I got back into the action and began focusing on a theme, starting with the trusty Rat Toolbox. From there, I started to get an interest in Deckbuilding after being inspired by many card combos I've witnessed and heard from many duelists. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 02:01, April 17, 2011 (UTC)

When I was 6 I got into Yugioh. I had some neighbors who played it. They didn't know all of the rules, so they played with five copies of the same card in their decks and they thought that certain normal monsters had effects (eg: Flame Champion could not be destroyed by battle). My brothers and I got a few packs here and there, as well as me getting multiple of almost every Starter and Starter Evolution. I usually used Toons at first but I wasn't very good. My best friend got into the game and we had a lot of fun. Eventually, I got better and got more cards. My game improved drastically after trading for all of someone's Archfiends and Gravekeeper's. Of course-the text for Necrovalley confused me: I had no idea what it meant exactly so I used direct logic-every card that destroyed cards could not be used. Of course, this was wrong. But that's not important. I went to a few tournaments with different decks, learned that you can't Special Summon another Spy face-down and what Necrovalley's real effect is, and I had fun. I was a big fan of the manga. I stopped playing when 5D's first came out so I missed out on a lot of strategies, especially the incredibly evil Dark Armed Dragon decks. I got into other things but I remained a fan of the manga. One day this year my brother got a Yugioh DVD on Netflix and watched it. It reminded me of playing with my Yugioh Cards-which I then proceeded to get out. Unfortunately, a lot of my rares had been damaged from being in a box, and my commons weren't in great condition. But this wasn't a big deal. I had more rares than I could possibly have imagined. I played without a format for a while and lost because my middle brother and I didn't know the difference between cost and effect (so we both used lots of Dark Worlds and Snipe Hunter). One day, I found that my friend was still into Yugioh. I had been making decks and I ended up trading my Zombie deck for his Fortune Ladies. He also traded me his E-Heroes for my Gemini deck and he traded me his Synchro Deck at some point. I traded him a lot of Counter Fairies and he gave me a Koa'ki Meiru deck on my birthday. I used the Synchro Deck at a tournament and found it lacking. I improved and improved until I had my "good stuff" deck. It was quite good at low-level events. And that brings us to sometime around now. In the process of all of this, I had bought a lot of Yugioh manga, gotten a lot more cards, found the Yugioh IRC and the wiki, and gone to a big tournament.BobaFett2 (talk)

I started when I was 10 I believe. Game was simple and fun, with no banlist. Playing PoG and Graceful Charity, 3 holo Gracefuls that is, and using my favorite cards from the anime. Then GX came out and I quit. Then I came back when Crimson Crisis came out and pulled the first pack my brother bought. And what do you know, the entire Reactor archetype, one of each card. I was happy and decided to build a deck with these 4 as the main monsters. I also got alot of Blackfeathers and mixed them in together to make a BF Reactor deck. Took it to a store and fought a guy using GBs. He was playing an odd strategy of just drawing a card every turn and ending. So naturally I attacked and attacked relentlessly. Then I made a large mistake and played Card Destruction, milling him of 7 cards. That's when I saw his graveyard and saw those GBs, thinking, ah crap I'm screwed. Then he fusions up and whoops my butt. However, that deck evolved into 2 separate decks and I've learned that the new Meta Gamer can only be played by the rich and lucky. So I still buy packs, getting the occassional holo, but I play an online version of Duel Monsters now and enjoy playing the game and spending nothing for it. My how 10 years of YuGiOh have gone by. Truely I look forward to ZeXaL. Adamtheamazing64 (talkcontribs) 23:41, April 18, 2011 (UTC)

I started when I was six; the guy above me, my brotther got rather TERRIBLE LUCK. I played but didn't know the rules completely, and he cheated with that oportunity. Then GX came, I quit like him. When one day I turn on the TV and see that next week will be the first airing of 5ds (dubbed) so m and him both watch it like "This is going toi be bad.". But in the end we found it interesting and cool so I bought a few packs some times and got mor holos than Adam..... Then came RGBT(Raging Battle) we went to our first sneak peek we were excited, I wanted to get Power tool Dragon, but didn't pull him. So.... I bought t=TONS of packs (about 25) so on the 25th pack he's like "Bro, this is your last pack of that set." I agree and open it.

If I remember the cards were ALL spell cards the rares: One for One and......... Power Tool Dragon (ultimate). Ever since I usually get a holo in 1 out of 2 packs. :)71.194.60.36 (talk) 02:16, April 19, 2011 (UTC)

As I promised, I'll tell you my story. Yeah I started when I was 8. Yeah sounds pathetic but it got the benefit. My deck key card was Leogun and Leogun only and uses strategies that revolve around him. It wasn't bad since I was third rate duelist at my school and started calling me Joey just because I use Leogun. However everything changed. A guy stole my deck. I chased after him and then witnessed him tearing all of my cards, especially Leogun. I beated the crap out of him and he swore to get backup. And so he did but when they looked at me, they laughed at him for getting beat up by a scrawny looking guy like me and left. (I was lucky because I was sore from yesterday)Then my urge for dueling increased until one day everyone stopped dueling. (I bought a Dino Structure Deck and used a Macro Deck) Hope was lost back then. Then during high school, everyone started dueling again! Sweet to me except for the fact that I gave my deck to charity.....(Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to look cool, I gave it to a kid). So I needed to figure out a way to start dueling. A dream hit me. I saw a white card and saw stars adding up to create that card. There I was then, buying the second starter deck. I recustomized, however I can't keep up until I got Stardust Dragon my father gave to me. As I looked at Stardust Dragon, I recognized his importance: the levels are the stars in Stardust Dragon's stardust. Then my deck improved and finally I got close to pros, but sank down thanks to an Infernity deck, but came right back up after getting more Synchros. And now this is where it led me. Thanks Yugioh Wikia. Thanks. Fallensilence (talkcontribs) 13:22, April 20, 2011 (UTC)
