Forum:Advice for editing Spirit deck

This is my current Spirit deck:

I really like this deck, but there are several cards I know need replacing, which are:

the Priests; D.D. Sprite; Hino-Kagu; both Swords; Mausoleum; MRS; and possibly one or both Mirrors

There's probably some other things that could stand replacing, but those are the ones that most blatantly useless whenever I have them.

Problem is, I'm not sure what'd be best to replace these with, so I'm asking the forums. I'd like to stay away from having an Extra deck, and I'm not a fan of the Solemn cards either. Advice? Ninja13 (talk • contribs) 10:43, November 30, 2011 (UTC)

Pot of Duality since you don't Special Summon. Solemn Judgment and Solemn Warning are great cards. Ultimate Offering really isn't necessary. There's little point in using D.D. Sprite. Metal Reflect Slime isn't really worth it. Treeborn Frog is good for tribute summoning and you can use Swap Frog and Foolish Burial to send it to your Graveyard. I was also thinking that 3 Duality might do this good, as would Treeborn Frog, although they would obviously clash with each other. I mentioned that I don't care much for the Solemn cards (though I did spell it wrong as I am prone to doing lol). Ultimate Offering is useful when I only have Spirits in hand, particularly Yaksha to abuse it's effect, though it could be replaced if there's something better. I know MRS and D.D. Sprite aren't worth it, that's why they're in my to-be-replaced list. As mentioned above, Treeborn would be nice, but would also interfere with Duality, and both Swap Frog and Foolish Burial are pretty much dead if I don't use it for Treeborn. I chose Marshmallon over Spirit Reaper because I don't want to attack with Reaper and potentially leave myself open to attacks on it, especially since it's just there as Tribute fodder/walling. I was also thinking of Gorz too, since it would complete my hand-summoning set.

Ultimate Offering stops you from using Gorz and Treeborn Frog. It also costs Life Points and confers no advantage except in decks such as Gadgets. You don't have to attack with Spirit Reaper but if you have the chance you always should because the effect is so good (except against Dark Worlds). You have a point about Gorz and Treeborn, though as I said it's very very useful with a Spirit-filled hand (and DDS can create advantage against a large field). I'm still not comfortable with ever having Spirit Reaper in atk mode, especially since I can't stop any potential attacks on it through Battle Fader, and without using that effect, Marshmallon or even Arcana Force 0 - The Fool are superior. If you suggest it that much I guess I can try it. Here's my new deck:

Now I've only tested this in like 3 duels atm so I haven't gotten to see much out of it, but I'm liking what I'm seeing. I replaced an Izanagi with a 3rd DDS since I don't really care as much if my Spirits are on the Field, especially with my new tribute engine. Is there anywhere you think I can fit in Fenghuang or 2, or should I just stay away from that?

Since I have this deck on DN, I'm also hoping that I could get a Side Deck put together. Any suggestions that wouldn't interfere with the Main Deck strat? Ninja13 (talk • contribs) 07:42, December 1, 2011 (UTC)
