Hey! I am planning to make a ancient gear deck which focuses on getting a 2000+ monster out first turn and then continuing.

Criticism welcome, but please justify all remarks.

You really shouldn't use Chimeratech Fortress Dragon or Cyber Dragon-it's just begging your opponent to use your Cyber Dragon with another Machine-type monster and steal your monsters. Future Fusion is limited so you shouldn't have more than one. Ancient Gear Tank is not a very good card.BobaFett2 (talk)

that makes no sense whay they would steal them? and maybe put in chimeratech overdragon

Not literally, he means fuse all your monsters to make their Chimeratech Fortress Dragon, causing you to have a clear field, while they have a 2000+ monster-Resk (✩) 21:19, June 21, 2011 (UTC)

yeah still makes no sense.

I would drop 1 magical hats, because you only have 3 copies of geartown in your deck. Kinda makes the second MH useless.

How does that not make sense? If they have any Machine-Type monsters and you have Cyber Dragon they can get rid of their Machines and your Cyber Dragon and make a stronger monster. Likewise, if you leave a bunch of Machine-Type monsters on your side of the field along with Cyber Dragon they can just clear your field to Fusion Summon Chimeratech Fortress Dragon. Also, having 2 Magical Hats increases your chance of drawing it in the first place. BobaFett2 (talk)

makes no sense cuz to fuse to make it they would need that card they cant just magically make one appear and they also cant force you to summon it. you can summon it when you need to.

But if THEY have one THEY can summon it using YOUR monsters.BobaFett2 (talk)

they would need one first and if they have one. you can be certain they have their own cyber dragons. so your argument doesnt makes little sense.

also put bottomless traphole in and mirror force if you got them.

Read Chimeratech Fortress Dragon's effect: "You can only Special Summon this card from your Extra Deck by sending the above cards from either side of the field to the Graveyard." They don't need any of the materials-if you have them out, they can clear your field and get a big monster.BobaFett2 (talk)

i get that. and if you summon cyber dragon you can use it to fuse for him before your opponent has a chance that is if they have the card and if they have it doesnt matter if you have cyber dragon out of not they can make it themself with their own cyberdragon then it doesnt matter.

So what is actually happening?

Most of the previous posts have just ended up in an argument. Is there any advice people can agree on or that is solid throughout? Thanks

well, chimeratech F. is a situational card, usually with all the money players around they dont have space in their extra for fortress, and for the people who do you can be sure they have a c. dragon of their own, or at least machine monsters, anyways, c dragon can be a side depending on what deck ur versing, if its not a machine, u can play c dragon most of the time, if it is, well, both players have a good chance of summoning C. fortress, it just depends on who has the initiative. Anyway you need to balance ur trap/spells, that way you have an out if c. fortress is summoned
