hi guys ive had a lot of different opinions on this effect some have claimed it can activate at certain times but it states only when damage calc is performed which i assumed was lifepoint damage. any expert opinions here? Sparker19 (talk • contribs) 07:18, December 8, 2016 (UTC)
- Not an expert but... As long as their is potential for damage, then Archfiend's effect can be activated. Damage calculation involves LP damage (if any) and whether a monster is destroyed (if any). Even if no monster was destroyed and no LP were lost by either player, but the attack wasn't interrupted you have preformed "damage calculation". - See damage calculation. If you perform any of that, then you get to inflict damage at the end of the Battle Phase. For instance, cards like "Ally of Justice Catastor" destroy the monster before damage calculation (you don't compare the cards' stats).
