Anyone else interested in trivial things like this?

The characters match the the symbol each time, so it should be easy for someone to make a table (or a font) for it, after a while.
(The 8 and 3 are not the same, the arch around the middle dot is in a different position, and the numbers seem to be in order; like reading a clock) -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 07:59, June 12, 2011 (UTC)

I'm always interest in bizarre symbol fonts like this. Any chance of making a version that can be translated to English? 50.102.209.113 (talk) 13:42, June 12, 2011 (UTC)

The 'N' and the 'o' are in English. We'll have to wait for Konami to make more. (The dub is probably going to leave it as it is, or not use the Symbols at all and just use normal English letters for the whole thing) -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 08:34, June 13, 2011 (UTC)

If you will notice, 3 in that text is an "inverted" clock with it's hand pointing at 3 o-clock... Same goes for 8. Start counting from 6 o-clock since it is inverted.—This unsigned comment was made by Coballes19 (talkcontribs) 16:00, 2011 June 12

yea, kinda mentioned that already. What I didn't mention, is that the 10 spikes represent 0 to 9. -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 08:34, June 13, 2011 (UTC)

Where did you get that picture? Please tell me!—This unsigned comment was made by 118.209.227.126 (talkcontribs) 07:22, June 19, 2011‎(UTC)

New page[edit]

The symbols are based off Katakana. I've compiled a list of them at User:Falzar FZ/Sandbox6, what would be a good page name? I can't decide between "Astral symbols", "Astral text" and "Astral language". Or something else if you have ideas.
Does Barian have a set of text? If so, where. -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 08:27, February 4, 2013 (UTC)

I prefer Astral text, since we don't know if it is a language (haven't seen any other proof that it was used in Astral World). As for Barian text, I would ask User:Avatarr about that, since he would probably know. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 16:37, February 4, 2013 (UTC)
Since the links will mostly be from Card Gallery pages, "Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL (Astral text)" seems to sound the best.
Actually, found something in episode 55 [1] and [2]
They aren't Astral text, so it could be possible that they are Barian text. Also the glow for the text, surroundings and gateway was red not blue.
-Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 20:47, February 4, 2013 (UTC)
Those actually look like they could be Astral versions of Latin characters, though that wouldn't necessarily rule out the possibility of their being Barian... It could be that both character sets are based on the same stylization, with Astral using mainly kana and Barian mainly Latin. (of course, this is all from someone who hasn't seen any of the ZEXAL anime, so I could be wildly off-mark) ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 21:50, February 4, 2013 (UTC)
In Astral text, the "No" do not match those ones, which is why I don't think they are Astral text.
Another term that could be used is "Astral runes". -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 21:54, February 4, 2013 (UTC)
I think "glyph" might be more appropriate than "rune". As far as I know, "rune" is used for Germanic language glyphs. Although in a lot of RPGs, "glyph" and "rune" are used for different symbols depending on their functionality.
As always, your SVGs look awesome. -- Deltaneos (talk) 21:10, February 5, 2013 (UTC)
In the Barian text, in the fourth last line, you can see what looks like KESSEN NO YOKAN. This could be romaji, with one kanji/kana equivalent being "決戦の予感", meaning "premonition of the final battle". Would that make sense in the given context? -- Deltaneos (talk) 22:27, February 5, 2013 (UTC)
The last few lines seem to say "最終決戦の予感 運命は 覇者の誕生を望んでいるのであろうか". Google translate's romaji is Saishū kessen no yokan unmei wa hasha no tanjō o nozonde iru nodearou ka, which may not be 100% accurate, but seems to match up with the slab. -- Deltaneos (talk) 22:49, February 5, 2013 (UTC)

Sounds like it's something from Card storylines#Duel Terminal.
"Astral glyphs" sounds fine as well.

Would this help? ;) --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 00:53, February 6, 2013 (UTC)
I can't seem to find that story. -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 01:15, February 6, 2013 (UTC)
Found it at http://yugioh-wiki.net/index.php?DUEL%20TERMINAL%20%A1%DD%BA%AE%C6%D9%A4%CE%C7%C6%BC%D4%A1%AA%A1%AA%A1%DD
Which says it's a story from Duel Terminal - Champion of Chaos!!.
-Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 01:28, February 6, 2013 (UTC)
Barian glyphs added.
-Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 08:24, February 7, 2013 (UTC)
Cool. I don't think that form of romanisation uses "c", "j", "l", "q" or "x". "f" and "v" might be used in katakana romanisations. Other than that, the only letters you need is are "f" and "p". -- Deltaneos (talk) 12:52, February 7, 2013 (UTC)
So, now that most of the glyphs have been vectorised and we've established how they work, shall we get on with making articles for them?
This might also be of interest. Someone else has already created fonts for these. -- Deltaneos (talk) 20:03, February 8, 2013 (UTC)
Astral glyphs exists now. -- Deltaneos (talk) 23:26, February 10, 2013 (UTC)
So does Barian glyphs. -- Deltaneos (talk) 01:09, February 11, 2013 (UTC)

Numbers numbers[edit]

This isn't really directly related to the Astral glyphs, but getting clean SVGs of the digits used to show the number of Numbers monsters on those monsters would also be nice (or have you (or someone else) beaten me to the punch, Falzar? =D ). ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 09:54, February 7, 2013 (UTC)

The summary of File:Numbers.jpg says it's a vector. Too bad it was uploaded as a jpg. -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 10:06, February 7, 2013 (UTC)
That is exactly the image I was thinking of for my request, I think. Must be a special new format of JPEG or something. *snick* ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 21:25, February 7, 2013 (UTC)

Templates[edit]

{{Astral glyph}} and {{Astral glyphs}} can now be used to convert Japanese and limited English to Astral. We don't have an image for "ー". (It can be seen here.) It looks the exact same as the "" glyph to me, but I could be overlooking something. -- Deltaneos (talk) 21:14, February 10, 2013 (UTC)

I thought it was a repeat of the last letter, a, i, u, e, o.
-Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 00:41, February 11, 2013 (UTC)
Ah, I see.
Also, Dinoguy has made {{Barian glyph}} and {{Barian glyphs}}. -- Deltaneos (talk) 01:09, February 11, 2013 (UTC)
Okay, added support for "ー". It might be a bit hard on servers though. -- Deltaneos (talk) 02:21, February 11, 2013 (UTC)
