What will happen to the effect of Beckoning Light if your opponent chain macro cosmos?

Kaiser-kun 02:44, September 7, 2009 (UTC)

  • The cards will be discarded to the Removed from Play zone instead. ATEMVEGETA (Talk) 06:12, September 7, 2009 (UTC)
    • ...and the rest of the effect will resolve properly - you will still add to your hand a number of LIGHT monsters equal to the number of cards discarded to the Removed Zone. --Deus Ex Machina (Talk) 01:08, September 8, 2009 (UTC)

Thks

I thought I will never add cards where did you get the answer?

Kaiser-kun 03:02, September 11, 2009 (UTC)

  • From nowhere! Since discarding the cards is not a cost, then the effect will try to resolve as much as possible and remove from play the cards instead! It it was a cost, then since it could not pay the cost, and send the cards to the Graveyard, the card should not be able to activate. ATEMVEGETA (Talk) 07:17, September 11, 2009 (UTC)

If im right discarding is not a cost to this cards effect?

Kaiser-kun 06:21, September 13, 2009 (UTC)

So....

so since its not a cost I may still get cards from my grave by the number of cards I discard?

Kaiser-kun 13:38, September 16, 2009 (UTC)

Further...

Analyze this situation:

  • I activate Beckoning Light and my opponent chain Macro Cosmos so I will discard all my cards in my hand and get Light-type monsters to my grave equal to the cards I discard
  • Another: I activate Beckoning Light and my opponent chain Macro Cosmos and since I do not have any exact Light monster in my grave the effect of my beckon. disappears then no cards is been discard nor get to my grave

Kaiser-kun 13:42, September 16, 2009 (UTC)

1) Correct!
2) you must have have as much LIGHT monsters in your Graveyard as there are cards in your hand in order to activate Beckoning Light. Otherwise you cannot activate it.

Hello

I already activate the beckoning light (link to 2nd situation)

Kaiser-kun 02:58, September 21, 2009 (UTC)

You cannot activate "Beckoning Light" if you don't have a number of LIGHT monsters in your Graveyard equal to or greater than the number of cards in your hand. This applies regardless of "Macro Cosmos". Your situation is illegal. --Deus Ex Machina (Talk) 03:29, September 21, 2009 (UTC)

?

I already activate my beckoning light and he chain macro thats the situation REmember you cannont say I cannont activ8 beckon. but I already actuv87 and he only chain macro gets?

Kaiser-kun 02:23, September 24, 2009 (UTC)

  • Please, explain the situation more clearly! Now it seems that you are asking the same question as your first one! How many Light monsters do you have in your Graveyard before you activate Beckoning Light and how many cards do you have in your hand? ATEMVEGETA (Talk) 16:03, September 24, 2009 (UTC)

Uhm...

What I meant to say is that I already activate that trap card and my opponent chain with his Macro Cosmos and I found out that I have only 2 Light monsters in my graveyard and I have 3 cards in my hand what will happen?

Remember my opponent chain his Macro Cosmos so I already activate Beckoning Light so you cannot say that I cannot activate this trap card..

thnx..

  • You will roll the game back to the point when you activated Beckoning Light, since the move was illegal. To activate Beckoning, you need an amount of LIGHT monsters in the grave equal to or greater than the amount of cards in your hand. If you have less than that, you can't activate Beckoning! If the condition isn't met, the card can't be activated! You can't just, i.e. flip your Mirror Force face-up in your Main Phase, then when your opponent says "you can't", say, "but I did, so destroy your ATK position monsters". It's an illegal situation. That's what ATEMVEGETA was trying to explain to you. --Darth Covah (Talk | Contribs) 21:38, October 2, 2009 (UTC)
Please see Card Rulings:Beckoning Light.
If you don't have as much LIGHT monsters in your Graveyard as there are cards in your hand, you cannot activate "Beckoning Light".
In your situation, you had three cards in your hand, but only two LIGHT monsters in your Graveyard. Thus, you cannot activate "Beckoning Light", regardless of what is in your hand. Your situation is illegal.
