True Draco

These need to be updated, because, apparently, the "True King" are "True Draco King" in the OCG. The archetype name is actually "True Draco". This means that, in the TCG, there will be both "True Draco" and "True King" and cards like "Master Peace, the True Dracoslayer" also are part of it. Also, YGOrg names.

ARC-V Episode 69 with the dub names of "Flower Cardian Five Lights" and "Card Regeneration" aired today in Australia. We should get the names from the episode instead of renaming twice.--X-Metaman (talkcontribs) 12:23, October 21, 2016 (UTC)
Oh, very good. Removed from the list for now then, just in case. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 15:31, October 21, 2016 (UTC)

"Chemical Beast" will be changed as well, but the name is still not decided upon. DN being gone has slowed the Org a bit and various members have been busy. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 21:28, July 21, 2016 (UTC)

Movie Pack and other movie-related stuff

Is everyone still excited for the movie? I'm not, so I hope someone is and wants to help with these!

Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 01:23, April 23, 2016 (UTC)

Ok, Blackwing. Thanks for the help. I won't have time for more now. Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 12:44, April 23, 2016 (UTC)

Some Official English names.

Secrets of Eternity

Awesomely enough, Konami is deciding to be consistent with "Rengoku" S/T Cards, so we're using "Void".

Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 16:55, November 18, 2014 (UTC)

Tribe Force again

This is due to the official archetype name for what we had as Spirit Beasts being known. Its "Ritual Beasts". "Spiritual" has "ritual" in it, and we think that's the pun Konami might be going for. Then "Espritual" (NOT Espiritual) for the Fusions (look up esprit).

The "cloth" in "Necloth" is often used to mean "armor" in Japanese. So "Nekroz Armor", since well, they are literally armors.

Tribe Force

Ok, per discussions at Forum:Literalism in translations and other issues, consensus is to use card names that the Organization uses as our article names (which naturally, are still unofficial). In other terms, this means "use the card names that Dueling Network uses".

Help moving these would be appreciated. Those of you with mover rights can also move the images at the same time if you like, though that can always be saved for later too. For names where differences are purely aesthetic, I've redirected them to the right articles. For example, I see little point in moving "Bachibachibachi" to "Bachi Bachi Bachi", so the redirect should suffice (though that's simply my opinion and if others disagree, feel free to argue against it). In addition, "Rank-Up Magic - Barian's Force" is an exception. Due to the dub terms for Barian/Varian, we should keep it as-is for consistency's sake.

Is it okay, if I question a few?
  • "Protect Dragon" and "Drain Dragon": Why are the first portion of their names being dropped?
  • "Vampire Shadow": Why is the order being reversed?
  • "Number 46: Draggluon the Æthereal Dragon": If these are approximates for what they might be called in the English TCG, shouldn't we avoid using foreign characters, such as "Æ"?
-- Deltaneos (talk) 20:33, July 21, 2013 (UTC)
  • Yes, of course.
  • Its just highly unlikely they'll be kept in the TCG and they really are superfluous to begin with. They sound awesome in Japanese. In English, not so much; the names just get long and clunky. They did attempt to integrate those names in a shorter fashion, but were unable to come up with anything that didn't in the words of Ark, "sound like ass".
  • Archetype names are usually put in the same part of each card. Also note that the card can be taken either as "a vampire that is a shadow" or a "a vampire's shadow" (and it appears to be the shadow of "Bram", actually, so its more than likely both).
  • That one I'll have to ask about myself. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 21:02, July 21, 2013 (UTC)
Should redirects be left for the images? --Dark Ace SP (Talk) 22:59, July 21, 2013 (UTC)

Why should Secret Sanctuary of the Spellcasters be moved?! It's a parallel to Secret Village of the Spellcasters. MadRest 21:52, February 22, 2013 (UTC)
That's the name they used. Its possible they did not notice or forgot about the similarity with the card you mentioned. I'll take the card off the list and look into it. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 22:17, February 22, 2013 (UTC)
Ok, that was something Atem had noticed himself and simply forgot to fix. He'll fix it on DN shortly. So there is no need to move it. Thank you. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 22:44, February 22, 2013 (UTC)
Also, Vulcan is named after a Roman god. "Volcan" makes no sense, not to mention that if they're going to do localization, they should adapt it after Beast King Barbaros. MadRest 01:31, February 23, 2013 (UTC)
Yeah, I thought of that too. Best guess is that they wanted it to evoke "Volcano" more closely (even though the name "volcano" was derived from "Vulcan" in the first place). --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 01:39, February 23, 2013 (UTC)
I'll ask about when I get a chance later. Good work, guys. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 10:21, February 23, 2013 (UTC)

Okay I am sorry, but ...what are the reasons for all of these changes - actually someone please just explain to me how "Number 104: Masquerade Magician - Shining" becomes "Number 104: Masquerade" and "Chaos Numbers 104: Masquerade Magician - Umbral" becomes Number C104: Umbral Horror Masquerade I could understand Magician being removed in both circumstances as it really doesn't add anything of value or place shining/umbral before magician/masquerade to make the name sound a bit more natural etc. I just don't understand what was wrong with those names and I haven't seen any reasons beyond this article... I don't know yet how many other articels listed here have gone through seemingly equally ...strange... changes. It just really looks like people have gone overboard IMO --slave(command) 09:47, July 23, 2013 (UTC)

Redirect with history at new page title

Power Tool Mecha Dragon needs to be moved to Machine Dragon Power Tool (apparently from a new translation of the manga; I'm just passing the message along from someone else), but the destination page has some history, so it can only be done by someone with deletion powers. --SnorlaxMonster 18:25, November 5, 2013 (UTC)

Or maybe not. I'm not sure. Either way, it shouldn't be moved by copy/pasting. --SnorlaxMonster 18:26, November 5, 2013 (UTC)

God of Darkness - Dark God

"God of Darkness - Dark God" need to be renamed to "The Dark Creator" (Tag Force name). --Dlamash (talkcontribs) 16:31, January 8, 2014 (UTC)

"The Dark Creator"? --Missign0 (talkcontribs) 02:42, January 9, 2014 (UTC)

There's two. "The Dark Creator" is a TCG card, and the Dark counterpart of "The Creator", while "Dark Creator" is the anime name for the "God of Darkness - Dark God." Sanokal K-T (talkcontribs) 02:50, January 9, 2014 (UTC)

I know, I was just pointing that that exactly name was already used. This is another "Armor Break"/"Armor Breaker" situaiton. --Missign0 (talkcontribs) 03:09, January 9, 2014 (UTC)

Okay. I decided to edit this one instead of making a new topic underneath. This conversation is stating an almost same reason as mine posted here. Forum:Where can I request to change card names/page link? First, can I move this post to somewhere it can get answers. It's all about some card names in Tag Force. And it is Tag Force 5 so it's official. God of Darkness - Dark God should be named Load of Darkness, also some cards like Judgment Rebirth which should be Declaration of Rebirth. And a few more posted in that link. --Michael lawrence dee (talkcontribs) 04:37, October 16, 2014 (UTC)

Moved "Rebirth Judgment" and "Name of a Friend". However, the page you linked to and the move template on the card page itself list different names for "Infinite Fiend Summoning Mirrors". Which is the more recent name. Also, "Load of Darkness" is currently at the right title. Thanks, Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 23:57, October 17, 2014 (UTC)
Wow, Load of Darkness was already moved, didn't notice that. Thanks for the other 2 though. --Michael lawrence dee (talkcontribs) 02:07, October 19, 2014 (UTC)

Forum Page not in any Category

I don't know what just happened, I think I deleted the first few lines and when I created the page, it wasn't in any of the Forum's Categories, can I ask this to be moved to the correct one? To where do you think it should be placed in? Here's the page: Forum:Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL World Duel Carnival Character Decks --Michael lawrence dee (talkcontribs) 13:42, October 27, 2014 (UTC)

Anime card names with abbreviations in them

Referring to all the anime card articles with "Zexal Weapon" in their title, as well as articles like "Red-Eyes Black Dragon (anime)".

These articles should all have the same title as their TCG names. All the proof you need can be found by doing a search on, which undeniably lists the official English anime names of all cards. As a side example, take a look at its page on "Obnoxious Celtic Guardian", which specifically notes the difference between its English anime name and its English TCG name.

Just because a card's name happens to be read out loud in a certain way doesn't mean it's spelled a particular way. Works of fiction can make up new words and pronunciations all the time. Unless there's specific evidence of a difference between an anime name and a TCG name, they should be kept the same (and here, there's in fact specific evidence against a difference).

For example, "VWXYZ-Dragon Catapult Cannon (anime)" isn't located at "V to Z-Dragon Catapult Cannon" even though that's exactly how its name is pronounced and is supposed to be pronounced. If I were to activate "Prohibition" and declare that card in a real life game, the correct way I should pronounce the name would be starting with the phrase "V to Z". If I were to do the same to "Number C39: Utopia Ray", the correct way to declare that card name would be starting with the phrase "Chaos Number Thirty-Nine", not "Number C Thirty-Nine". Same goes with everything mentioned in the first sentence of this post. The anime characters are pronouncing the same card name as in the TCG, correctly.

Blueapple128 (talkcontribs) 18:00, April 20, 2015 (UTC)

"Red-Eyes" is not the same thing as the rest of these examples. Its actually always called "Red-Eyes Black Dragon" in the dub. Similar, these other cases usually write out the name in the dub, but those can be chalked up to not using the abbreviations. The inverse is true in the "Red-Eyes" case. Other than that, I support the rest of your arguments. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 18:55, April 20, 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for the support. But how is "Red-Eyes" different? What's the difference between your second sentence and the sentence "It's always called "Chaos Number 39: Utopia Ray" or "V to Z-Dragon Catapult Cannon" in the dub? "B." is equally an abbreviation for "Black" as "CXyz" is an abbreviation for "Chaos Xyz". The dub alone does not write out a single thing - all we get from the dub are the correct ways to pronounce the names. However, we do get the written names of the anime cards had they been written out in the dub thanks to the site, which is where we get the correct spellings of some obscure anime-only cards. Barring "Obnoxious Celtic Guardian" and anything similar, the dub (supplemented by the site) pronounces and writes the names exactly the same way as the TCG, "Red-Eyes B. Dragon" included. Yu-Gi-Oh! Movies

Not a card, but articles in general. A while back, I sought to clarify the titles of the first two Yu-Gi-Oh! movies, both from 1999 and 2004. I was skeptical of the names Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie and Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie: Pyramid of Light, and challenged anyone to find evidence that these names were actually used, and not just made up by fans. No such evidence was uncovered. Therefore, the following changes should be observed:

I think this forum is more for pages, where it pretty much goes without saying that the pages need to be renamed, you just need help doing it. These renames are more disputed. You should probably go to the talk page for the 2004 film and add the {{Rename}} tag to the article.
Yes, this was brought up before. I'd still be in favour of the renames if you want to continue the discussion. -- Deltaneos (talk) 21:11, July 16, 2017 (UTC)
