The Z-Virus

Nothing to do with a Virus Control deck (simply an innuendo to the Resident Evil series), this is simply my newest inspiration - a Zombie Synchro deck! It is far from complete, but I was so impressed with its outstanding performance that I decided to upload it prematurely:

  • Statistics:
    • Monster Card to Spell and Trap Card ratio: ~1:1
    • Win/loss ratio: Never lost a match (so far)... just some duels. And yeah I've beaten Tele-DAD, Lightsworns and Zombies.
  • Comments:

This deck uses at its core the Field Spell Zombie World, to turn all monsters on the field and in the Graveyard into Zombie-Types. This may seem like small, but is actually the driving force of the deck, as it gives you the ability to recycle monsters that weren't originally Zombies, like Exiled Force, Molten Zombie and Rose, Warrior of Revenge, and re-use their effects, or use them as Synchro Materials. Yes, this deck can perform a Synchro Summon with very little difficulty, maybe a tiny bit harder than a Zombie Deck with 3x Plaguespreader Zombie. Drawing power is abundant, in the shape of 2x Card of Safe Return and 1x Molten Zombie. And, as a last resort, you can use the opponent's own monsters against him, as you essentially run 3x Brain Control: 1x Brain Control and 2x Marionette Mite - this deck is just full of surprises. Used with caution, this deck can work wonders - which easily makes it one of the best decks I've ever made :-).

Cards I don't have so don't suggest them:

Plaguespreader Zombie. Don't wanna use it anyway - this deck is supposed to be competitive without it.
Allure of Darkness. Not many DARKs anyway.
Dark Armed Dragon. Likewise.
Dark Bribe. Don't have it, can't find it. If I did, I'd add it.
Emergency Teleport. Likewise.
Destiny Hero - Malicious.
Destiny Draw.
Crush Card Virus.

Useful cards I have and am consider adding:

1x Solemn Judgment.
3x Krebons
3x Psychic Commander.
3x Caius the Shadow Monarch.

Cards I'm trying to get:

1x Mezuki.
1x Burial from a Different Dimension.
3x Necro Gardna.

Other than those, please speak your mind. Even if I don't have a card you have in mind listed or not at all, I could be able to get it. So do mention card changes. Just don't mention cards in from the "Cards I don't have so don't suggest them" area, unless if it is absolutely necessary. Thanks! --Darth Covah 22:30, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

  • Well it looks like a great deck ya got there! Especially since it thrashed me the other day... XD --Bluedog (Talk) 00:32, 14 January 2009 (UTC)

Personally, I feel that a few more Paladin of the Cursed Dragon wouldn't hurt. It's a nice beatstick, with the added Goyou effect should you have Zombie World out. Molten Zombie and Marionette Mite both appear to be moot points if you don't have Zombie World out, so these two can go once you get cards to substitute them. --Gadjiltron 01:51, 14 January 2009 (UTC)

That's All?

C'mon people, the deck is far from perfect, so why won't you comment on it? --Darth Covah 16:04, 15 January 2009 (UTC)

My Input

I'm not good enough to comment on it, as my knowledge of the game is simply basic. My strategies are simply basic as well. Where I can help you is that I have an extra Mezuki, and would be able to help you by perhaps trading you that for a Terraforming If that is not a suitable trade for you, I might be able to help you with some other cards. Tell me the cards you need, and I can see what I can do.

Duelist33 17:13, 15 January 2009 (UTC)

  • I'd normally take that trade, but there are two issues:
1) Mezuki is more expensive than a Terraforming. Twenty times more. Terraforming is 1$, Mezuki is 20$. I don't rip anyone off, especially my acquaintances (well maybe I rip them off a tiny bit xD).
2) Distance. Although my English might imply otherwise, I'm not English or American. I'm Greek, so if you are not European, postage alone would be more expensive than the card you'd be geting.
Be patient, though. I'll post my trade binder soon, and if you see enough cards you want, we can arrange a trade with cards of enough value to justify their postage. --Darth Covah 17:33, 15 January 2009 (UTC)

Edits

Swapped 2 Book of Moon for 2 Creature Swap, and the Marionette Mite for a Mirror Force. Also left out a Reinforcement of the Army to add a Card Destruction. Any more suggestions people? --Darth Covah 02:01, 20 January 2009 (UTC)

Just a suggestion.

replace molten zombie with des lacooda for the draw power.

I would replaces the 3 rose warrior of revenge with 3 krebons and the reinforcements of the army with emergency teleports( i know i read your thing, just saying )...

more paladins couldnt hurt, the added four star from your opponents graveyard is usefull for tribute/synchro fodder plus he's a pretty considerable beat stick at 1900 for 4 stars...

malevolent mech should be main decked.

anyhoozle, thats just me.

I would take out molten zombie keep only one creature swap, and use royal decree X2.. it almost never fails. Exiled forces are great too. and snipe hunter! CURLY BESHIA

First question: How in the World of Warcraft do you get Goyo out ?

  • You have no level 2 monsters to Sychro summon Goyo using Rose (level 4) as the Tuner.
    • Consider Quillbolt since your running Chain Destruction.
  • Since your running Ill Blud, consider running Double Summon, Ill Blud, being gemini you can use his effects immediately after you tribute summon him. Eitherwise take him out he could get destroyed before you Summon him by his effect.Vanhelsink 13:28, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
Quillbolt seems like a good idea, I need to find out what to remove for some copies though.
Il Blud is not an essential part of the deck, he is mainly used because he lets me SS more, while drawing more with COSR and abusing Zombie World by reviving Exiled Force. I usually have time to use his effect, since I SS him by Pyramid Turtle, Book of Life and/or Mezuki, so I can still Normal Summon. Double Summon would help if I ran 3 Il Blud, but here it will be kind of a dead draw, since the deck relies on searching/drawing, and its monster count is relatively low.
Thanks for the advice guys, keep it coming. --Darth Covah 13:37, 20 January 2009 (UTC)

More Edits

-1 Creature Swap
-1 Card Destruction
+1 Torrential Tribute
+1 Royal Decree --Darth Covah (Talk|Contribs) 09:19, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

Nice Deck...

Wow... pretty solid build. I'd suggest taking out one Terraforming and Molten Zombie (optional, but its an unstable card). You should Side Royal Decree, Grand Mole, and Heavy Storm (not splashable because of Field Spell).

Add a Giant Trunade, another Creature Swap (recomended if you keep Molten Zombie) a Smashing Ground, and a pair of controversial cards that fit this deck.

I'd add two Hand Destructions, but it depends on your local Meta. If your common opponent plays Lightsworns (with Judgment Dragon) or any deck with Malicious, don't add it. They'd be happy to dump anyone of their cards into the Grave. Its a weaker, yet more relliable version of Card Destruction, but with Sasuke Samurai on it. It would be a welcomed addition to your deck.

Don't add that Quilbolt thing. It'll be horrible to draw, and foolish to Foolish Burial. Blue-Eyes White Boy 20:07, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

  • Thanks for the advice. I'll take it into account. What would you say "a pair of controversial cards that fit this deck" could be? Oh and my meta is 25% Tele-DAD, 10% Zombie Synchros, 10% Macro Cosmos, 15% LIGHT Anti-Meta, 10% Plants, 10% Burn, 20% Random. No Lightsworns but lots of Tele-DAD. --Darth Covah (Talk|Contribs) 00:41, 28 January 2009 (UTC)
  • I was talking about Hand Destructions, and I called them controversial because some people think they aren't good cards. People actually play burn at your Tourney? Hmm, maybe Hand Destructions are not a good addition, because almost every deck you listed thrives off of the Grave. And just one tip to apply to every deck, NEVER use Reckless Greed. P.S. Would you mind looking at my Zombie World Deck and messing with it, its under 'Diamond-World' on my User Page and Sig.

Yeah, more edits...

Took out the Il Blud for a Krebons, to ease stalling for time if necessary, and give access to LV6 Synchros. --Darth Covah (Talk | Contribs) 17:23, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

  • Still two ROTA? Otherwise, I would take out one for a Mind Control. Imagine, on the first turn, you opponent sets a Hoplomus, and you Mind Control it. Then, you normal summon Rose, and ram the opponent with Stardust Dragon. For the rest of the duel, you have them in a Stardust lock, while swarming with Zombies. That would be a good day. -bewk
