Forum:Create An Archetype

The title pretty much says it all; you get to create your own archetype! While I shouldn't be doing anything like this (I've never actually dueled anyone yet, but I have seen others) I'm going to do it anyway. Creativity is key. I'll post my idea after at least one other person seems interested in this. SomeTigOlBitties (talkcontribs) 15:04, May 12, 2013 (UTC)

I made a couple of archetypes on Yugico.com, a couple of them are as follows.

Patriotic: A good all-around deck...too good... OTK's were commonplace, no matter what.

Binary: A mutated version of Hieratics, Focused on Tribute SUMMONING and level modulation. Several boss monsters, but are usually too slow. Destroyer83 (talkcontribs) 18:38, May 12, 2013 (UTC)

Had an idea, but didn't really pen it down. Named it "Sanguine", and the general strategy is based on effects that trigger whenever you gain LP. Would consider a card that allows you to win if you have an absurdly high LP count, but will take some effort to balance that. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 08:29, May 13, 2013 (UTC)

I'm sure we've had a topic like this before... Well, anyway, I recently expanded "Ice Beast Zerofyne" into an archetype of "Ice Beast" cards that focus around Ice Counters and gaining ATK through them, as well as other various effects. They're supported by a Field Spell Card called "Crystal Nest, the Sublime Kingdom".--YamiWheeler (talkcontribs) 12:44, May 13, 2013 (UTC)

The Negative Numbers, all are opposite of the hundred-plus numbers. All the effects of the Numbers are reversed, involving keeping Overlay Units to gain power. SwordoftheSpirit (talkcontribs) 17:01, May 18, 2013 (UTC)

Another Archetype I made on yugico is a "Speed" deck, it's focused on even greater swarming but a great reduction of OTK's because each of them has their own little..."Restrictor plate" which prevents them from being summoned in certain situations, and which prevents them from attacking during the turn they are summoned, however, they do have cards which lifts these restrictor plates. All except one "speed" spell is a quick-play spell card. There are no "Speed" specific traps. 76.19.31.134 (talk) 01:20, May 19, 2013 (UTC)

I guess mine is "Cosmo". The deck focuses on sending cards to the graveyard (and partially relies on Banishment). One of the ace cards in the deck is the already existing "Macro Cosmos". =) 108.86.104.40 (talk) 04:15, May 19, 2013 (UTC)

Too many to count. And there really are a lot of them.--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 09:07, May 19, 2013 (UTC)

i would expand on the Satalite Archtype. the cards would all be high level monsters with 0 attack points but powerful effects. to get them out i would make the Lanuch series that can summon any satalite for 100 lp *monsters level and a new feild spell to protect the zeo attack monster. Deep Space prevents Satalite monsters from being targeted and space wall a 3000 defense monster that can use the lanuch seris. --Venom assult trooper (talkcontribs) 18:57, May 19, 2013 (UTC)

You guys came up with OCs that use those archetypes? If so, I'd like to know how their story goes.--Hawk00Refferencer (talkcontribs) 19:31, May 19, 2013 (UTC)

.

I often created archetypes for fun, but the only one i can remember were the "MD", which stands for military dragons. they were fusion monsters, summoned by fusing machines of a certain attribute with a dragon having at least a certain level. of course there were support cards to change attributes and levels. I'm creating on YCM Wiki the "Space" archetype: it's focused primaly on Xyz Summoning and creating an HUGE card advantage, and it contains some beaters. This is the link to list: SD:SIF I'm even writing a fanfic on fanfiction.net on these cards! --XBrain130™ Xブレイン130」 16:51, July 26, 2013 (UTC)
