Forum:Deck Contest 15: "Bust"ing your Chops

First of all, I want to apologize for the horrific pun in the title. I wanted to do "Assault Mode Activate!" but that was too obvious.

Second of all, you should have just figured out what this WDC is about - Assault Modes! Your job is to make an Assault Mode deck based around only ONE monster (hear that - not multiple). Voters should be voting based on how well the deck uses the card chosen. So, of course, your choices are:

There's only 6. Additionally, in the interests of diversity, only two people can choose any single monster. Doing the extraordinarily simple math, that means a possible twelve participants. Registration is due by this Wednesday, March 31, and the deck is due a week from now (IE: April 4).

Good luck to all participants! Runer5h 02:14, March 29, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

Q&A

-How many copies of the /Assault Mode monsters do I have to put in the deck? Jampong 11:31, March 29, 2010 (UTC)

At least one, and no more than 3. Put as many as you feel necessary.

-How to submit the Deck List? BF - Black Force March 29,(UTC)

Use the Decklist template, which can be found on the Decks for Free forum page. Runer5h 19:28, March 29, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

can I use a monster as red dragons support although it needs several other cards to work? Or would this be already a focus on "multiple". (or in general parlance: I want northempko with jinns and their effects for red dragon to be safe from synchros/enemy ss and draw power)

Cool idea. I'm fine with it. Runer5h 21:08, March 29, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

I currently had the Deck almost finished what should I do now? BF - Black Force (UTC)

Wait till registration closes, post as close to the deadline for Decks as you can without surpassing it. --Gadjiltron 12:29, March 30, 2010 (UTC)
If you're already done, test it and refine it. You'll probably increase your chances of winning. Runer5h 19:39, March 30, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

Registration is DONE!

It would have ended yesterday, but my internet was down. Good luck to all contestants! Runer5h 21:05, April 1, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

True Friends

Once upon a time there was a Dragon. He could defeat entire armys of any kind of enemy with just one strike. But he felt very lonely because his strike not only beats his enemies but also his followers. Then a woman came and said that as long as he is on her side she never would leave him alone. Since then they fought together...

This is my RDA/Assault Deck

This Deck focus on bringing out Red Dragon Archfiend/Assault Mode and Divine Grace - Northwemko asap and so destroying all the opponents monsters (mine aren't affected since only northwemko is on the field with RDA) and at the same time preventing them from ssing and/or have immense draw power.

Divine Grace - Northwemko can't be destroyed by RDA. Together with her drawpower (Djinn Presider of Rituals) she can quickly gather the cards needed for RDA summon. And/or she simply prevents every possible ss (Djinn Releaser of Rituals). Armageddon Knight is the egg laying wooly milk pig in this deck. Can be used for an instant ritual summon (put a djinn with his effect and you have all you need), for RDA synchro summon (after he got on the field due to Mystic Tomato)... everything you'll use in this deck he can be used for. All the others are searchers and/or material for RDA/Northwemko.

Spells are used for searching/drawpower/stables. The traps negate s/t which could negate our Assault Mode Activate or other threatment (Assault Counter can even negate anoying monster effects when Red Dragon Archfiend/Assault Mode is out) or are RDA support (Call of the Haunted for synchro summon material and Dragon's Rage... he is sometimes lonely and without it he has a really hard time dealing damage). The continous s/t can also be used to make northwemko indestructable and you can't imagine how often (1 or 2)card trader has allready saved me from cards comming into my hand at the wrong time ;)

ok, that's my first time trying to make something for a competition, I hope you like it :) -dest- 01:21, April 3, 2010 (UTC)

The Undead Has Return from his Grave

--This is the deck I have been working on for the past few days. I really love to see a Zombie Deck fighting with a different meaning. They add in Synchros that made it a Zombie Synchro, and now they even made an /Assault Mode of one of its Synchro Monsters.

--The idea of this deck is to fill up the field w/ Synchro monsters. I used the idea of a GigaVise Deck and transform it to a BludVise, a help from monsters like Gorz, Tragy and DaD, and the main monster of the deck, Doomkaiser Dragon/Assault Mode, that if done correctly, it will help the deck to abuse the chances of swarming the field w/ Synchros.

--That's it. Good luck to others.

P.S.

--Please fix my decklist for me. I don't know what's the problem. Thanks.

Star Buster

This was pretty simple to do, since I've done and tested this kind of Deck before...

Right then, this Deck uses and abuses 4+4 combos to quickly Synchro Summon Stardust Dragon, and then flipping Buster Mode to upgrade it to its Buster form. Simple enough. Many of the monsters here either work towards pulling and/or recycling Buster Mode, or making the 4+4 combo. The most evident one here is Flamvell Helldog scoring a kill to Summon Flamvell Magical, and then using the two to Synchro Stardust on Main Phase 2. Otherwise, Summon Priest can toss out unneeded Spells to facilitate this Synchro Summon. Starlight Road is an obvious addition to get a free Stardust in response to a nuke.

I put together a proxy version of this Deck sometime back for test play, and I discovered a few flaws with this: if I can't keep one monster out before bringing out the Tuner to Synchro, it's a downward spiral to defeat. So I ended up putting in a couple of Double Summons to help me out in these sorts of situations. I also ended up swapping Hyper Synchron from a past version of this Deck for Soldier of Mist Valley so as to ensure that I do keep my Stardust, rather than having a temporary powered one.

In case things go awry, like Buster Mode getting busted (*rimshot*), Buster Mercenary is always there either to beat face, shred S/Ts, or use as Synchro Material. Getting a StarBuster in the hand is never a good thing, so Magical Mallet is there to cycle it back (along with other bad draws), in hopes of getting a better turnout. Brain Control and Mind Control aplenty to seize the ever-common LV4 monsters to facilitate Synchro Summoning too. And in case I get my hands on a smaller monster there're always the lower-level Synchros to use.

That's about everything. --Gadjiltron 02:26, April 3, 2010 (UTC)

Gigantech Assault

Hi, I'm HHTurtle. I was the person that suggested this WDC so I figured it be fitting if I joined too. I wanted a real challenge for my first time and I got the hardest one. So, please spare some time to look at this newbie's first presentation.

Basically, this deck is a bit of warriors + Synchro supporrt + Assault support. The deck does work on sending cards to the graveyard and we are all well acquainted with Foolish Burial, Dark Grepher and Armageddon Knight. Cards that work in the graveyard include Destiny Hero - Dasher & Malicious, Plaguespreader Zombie and Necro Gardna. Having them in the deck not only helps Colossal Fighter and its Assault Mode, but also helps the speed and protection. Hand Destruction and Upstart Goblin is there to have more controlled discarding and drawing.

For bringing out Colossal Fighter, I've added a bit of Tricky Turbo. Just special summon The Tricky or Cyber Dragon and summon Psychic Commander. Voila, you got the magic number 8 on the field. Other ways include having Plaguespreader Zombie and Malicious in the graveyard. This works very well with this deck. For example, if you have Colossal Fighter/Assault Mode, Malicious, Dasher or any other dead draw in your hand, you can activate Plaguespreader Zombie'ws effect to ss itself and return the card to the top of your deck and then use Malicious' effect to not only be able to synchro summon but also shuffle your deck for a fresh new draw next turn. Alternately, you can set a monster to ss using Dasher's effect.

I have 2 Assault Beast and 3 Assault Mode Activate so Colossal Fighter/Assault Mode can be brought out pretty fast and you can dump 2 more warriors to further reinforce the strategy. I don't care if your Red Dragon Archfiend/Assault Mode has 3500 ATK, it will just bow down under the awesome effect of my monster. So what happens if you got him out? You can just continue on synchro summoning Stardust Dragon for extra protection.

Finally, the Book of Moons are not only used to flip your opponent's monster, it is also used to flip Colossal Fighter and its Assault Mode counterpart. Why? Because most destruction cards only destroy face up monsters, e.g. Mirror Force and I'm not afraid of it having low DEF because it can ss itself after it's destroyed in battle or just use another Assault Mode Activate.

I'm proud of this deck and in the immortal words of Joey Wheeler, I declare that this deck is "not too shabby".--Hide Head Turtle 12:26, April 3, 2010 (UTC)

Shadow Stardust

Curse you Gadjiltron, for stealing my original idea! Just kidding. I have thought of a different one! I will use Level 5 Dark World monsters, along with Level 3 Tuners, to create Stardust Dragons on demand, which transforms into Stardust Dragon/Assault Mode when need be.
Since Dark World monsters need to be discarded to be Special Summoned, I have put in three Dark World Dealings, one Card Destruction, one Morphing Jar, and one Fabled Raven, which when used with a Dark World moster, creates an instant Stardust Dragon. It's effect lets you discard any number of cards, and increase it's level by the amount of cards you discard. It's discarding effect isn't cost, so the Level 5 Dark World monster gets special summoned, and tunes with the Level 3 Raven. Morphing Jar and Card Destruction give me the ability to unleash a massive swarm of Dark World monsters, while giving me a new hand to kill my opponent with. They also trigger the effect of The Fabled Cerburrel, which is a Level two Tuner. I included him in this deck because he is a free Tuner, and lets me fetch a Brionac for a some card removal, or a Goyo Guardian for his high attack.
There are other ways to get a Stardust Dragon out, like the good old Summoner Monk gets out Flamvell Magician trick. Mystic Tomato helps me search out the Monk, but it can find Sangan and Blackwing - Gale the Whirlwind just as easily. I have included a copy of Instant Fusion to Special Summon a Level 5 Fusion monster, so I can easily Tune it with a Level 3 Tuner. There are so many ways to get out Stardust that I usually get it out on the second or third turn.
Emergency Teleport is in here because it can get out the Level 3 Tuner, Psychic Commander, and does it for free! Heavy Storm and Mystical Space Typhoon are in here for their abilities to remove potentially harmful spells and traps, and Bottomless Trap Hole is in here for it's ability to remove powerful monsters from my opponent's side of the field. I included Magical Mallet in this deck to put /Assault Modes, Psychics, and Flamvell Magicians back in the deck, so other cards can search them out, while at the same time, allowing me to draw cards that could help me win. Book of Moon is in here for it's abilities in the field of disruption, and can stop attacks, Synchro Summons, effects of spells, traps, and monsters that target monsters, and other no-good things that might ruin my day. Since my deck fills the grave extremely fast, I threw in a Pot of Avarice to put good things back in my deck, so I can continue my crazy Synchro shenanigans.
I hope you liked my deck, and can see how powerful it truly is. I am planning on making something like this when all the cards become available to me. Please vote for the best deck, whether it be mine or not! -bewk (Blue-Eyes White Kid)

Alright, voting time!
