The second competition is to build a deck based around summoning a monster card that's very hard to summon, me and BF2 took the ideas you gave us and added some of our own. Also if you are unable to register, please come back and vote. The contest official starts Thursday, but I'm making this a little early. Post your decks up on September 7, 2011, I know that this makes the contest a little less than a true week, but its so me and BF2 can announce a winner and start a new contest on the following Thursday.

- --User:GoldenSandslash15 - I'll take Armityle the Chaos Phantom. I already made a deck around him a long time ago. Just needs some updating.
- --User:Synchro Maniac10 - I'd like to tackle Flying Fortress SKY FIRE. Apparently, I'm the only one who's taken this one. (Well, at least it's not Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth...) By the way, I went ahead and added my name next to the card. ^^
- --User:Lappyzard - Kinda though we'd post our names next to the cards like last time, but whatever. I'll do SKY FIRE.

It's a difficult deck indeed, I somehow made it work... somewhat. It's a stalling deck, though Gravity Bind will be a problem if the high leveled monster gets out. Which is why Mystical Space Typhoon and Anteatereatingant are there. Howling Insect and Gokipon are to bring Petit Moth and Cocoon of Evolution into your field/hand respectively. The rest is pretty straight forward. Chaosdukemon (talk • contribs) 19:04, September 7, 2011 (UTC)

Meet Armityle, aka Doctor Overkill. If you were silly enough to summon him correctly, it would take 9 cards! But forget that, I'm using no more than three. Here's the combo: kill all spells/traps, then activate Photon Veil to search out 3 Prismas. Then, summon a Prisma and activate HERO'S Bond, bringing out the other two. Then activate their effects, summon the Doctor, and win.
Pot of Duality, Upstart Goblin, and Gold Sarcophagus all will help you find your combo pieces. The LIGHT monsters I included either stall or help pay the cost of Photon Veil. E - Emergency Call and Reinforcement of the Army also aid in the activation of Veil. -bewk

Extra Deck:

Well. It's a Deck designed for bringing all the VWXYZ monsters onto the field or into my hand, using cards like Jade Knight, Machina Armored Unit, Shining Angel etc. Once there, I combine them all into the XYZ-Dragon Cannon or VWXYZ-Dragon Catapult Cannon. If they get killed, I can use Dimension Explosion, Burial or Return to revive the materials. Xyz Monsters and Chimeratech Fortress are in there should my VWXYZ become sealed or stopped, or if I need a strong monster fast. --Blue-Eyes Starlight Dragon (talk • contribs) 04:13, September 7, 2011 (UTC)
The deck isn't fully focused on VWXYZ, but this is what makes it versatile. It also functions as a Rabbit Xyz deck as well as allowing you to use Prisma. There are four cards to Special Summon monsters from your Graveyard, plus staples. There's also two Synchro Monsters for "captured" Veilers and Earths (from Agents). Basically, this deck is made to Special Summon and protect VWXYZ's components to summon VWXYZ once everything is in place. If anything becomes irretrievable, the remaining monsters can be used as Xyz Material Monsters. That pretty much makes up the deck. Defensive (and offensive) cards to protect, quick-summon cards to swarm, and Fusion/Xyz Summons to destroy. It's pretty easy to use and really fun. --Hail Me! Somehow, I managed to draw SKY FIRE in every single test duel, despite running only one and doing my best to put him in the Graveyard. >.< Anyways, the idea is to put my Reactors in the Grave, summon them all back via Reborn, Call, and Salvo, and bring out SKY FIRE. The ideal play is to summon Spell Reactor and set Fake Explosion, leading into the summoning of Summon Reactor, and then summon Trap Reactor via normal means or Salvo. Once I get SKY FIRE out that's pretty much game. I didn't run BLS or Chaos Sorcerer because the idea isn't competitiveness or winning, it's getting out the chosen monster as consistently as possible and keeping it there, and my deck is built to do just that. I hope you like it! Lappyzard (talk • contribs) 19:07, September 7, 2011 (UTC)
I decided to go the Dark Flattop method. I was very surprised, as you can imagine, when I found the ruling that I had to summon SKY FIRE properly before I could summon it with Flattop! Nonetheless, I incorporated the Reactors by taking out my Tour Guide engine, especially with the new Xyz rulings. I also took out 1 SKY FIRE and 1 Machina Fortress. I need SKY FIRE in my hand with this deck (unlike Lappy's) to discard for Machina Fortress. I tried a Geartown Engine is this deck as well before, but decided it worked best without it, meaning I had 4 engines! But back to the point. I use Dekoichi for draw power and a target for Salvo or Machina Fortress. Gearframe searches Fortress out, and Stygian Security (which is quite easy to have or get on the field) can be tuned with Fortress for Flattop. Then, you summon all of the Reactors with his effect and Salvo, as well as Monster Reborn to summon SKY FIRE. Machina Fortress is the fallback if this strategy so happens to fail, as well as Salvo. The other cards in the extra deck are pretty much staples and other options if I'm in a jam. Well, I hope you liked the idea! Thanks for your time! :D Synchro Maniac10 (talk • contribs) 22:29, September 7, 2011 (UTC)

Fusion Monsters: Side Deck:
Side Deck: |
There it is. First time doing something like this, so I hope it works.--Kagimizu-Seeya 'round 03:30, September 7, 2011 (UTC)
Explanation: since the main method of summoning Mirage Knight is by destroying Dark Flare Knight in battle, this deck has a primary focus in first using various methods to quickly get out the Fusion Materials required to bring forth Dark Flare Knight as fast and quick as possible. This is given additional support through various Spell and Trap control cards, meant to keep the opponent from destroying the monsters before you can complete the fusion. Then, Battle Mania is used to force the opponent into battle, while Imperial Iron Wall keeps Mirage Knight on the field, allowing it to keep on fighting. Additional possible cards include Mirror Force and Magic Cylinder, which can punish them even further by destroying their monsters or redirecting their attacks after they destroy Dark Flare Knight, possibly leaving them vulnerable to a direct attack, or with that many fewer Lifepoints. I also threw in Summoner of Illusions for another method of quick summoning, though in the end I decided Prisma was more deserving of being in the Main Deck since its effect can allow it to be treated as the correct cards required by the other Fusion Substitute Monsters. De-Fusion was thrown into the side deck to be used in case Dark Flare Knight might be destroyed by something other than battle, allowing Dark Magician and Flame Swordsman to still remain on the field for an addition fusion in the future. Is that a decent explanation?--Kagimizu-Seeya 'round 03:51, September 7, 2011 (UTC)

When I first looked at the monsters I could choose from, an immediate thought popped into my head - what's Mirage Knight doing there? He's not particularly difficult to summon. Here's my deck.
I'll start by explaining the monsters. Dark Magician is essential, as Fusion Material for Dark Flare Knight. King of the Swamp and Elemental HERO Prisma can also be used. Obviously, I have Mirage Knight, and Honest backs up his effect. Lastly, A Cat of Ill Omen searches my key traps, while Gravekeeper's Commandant searches Necrovalley, making the Cat a lot more useful, and is a beatstick when Necrovalley is out.
There's not really much to say about the spells. I've got 2 Polymerizations for fusions, as well as Pot of Duality and Summoner's Art for speed. Heavy Storm and Monster Reborn are staples. Instant Fusion is my easy method of summoning Flame Swordsman, and Necrovalley helps with A Cat of Ill Omen, as well as being all-round great grave control.
By now you're probably thinking 'What Trap Cards could be so important that the deck contains 3 Cats, 3 Necrovalleys and 3 Commandants?' The answer is Imperial Iron Wall. With it, I can keep Mirage Knight around for longer than 1 turn, possibly even the whole duel. Safe Zone can help to keep it there, Call of the Haunted is useful to revive cards such as Dark Magician and Flame Swordsman for fusions, or Honest for an ATK boost. Mirror Force, Torrential Tribute and Solemn Warning are staples made better by the fact that this deck has a lot of Trap-searching.
The Extra Deck is fairly unremarkable, although beyond Flame Swordsman and Dark Flare Knight, Dark Paladin, the listed Elemental Heroes and the Xyz monsters can be summoned.
So, that's it! All that's left to say is, vote for me! Battlemaniac (talk • contribs) 18:16, September 7, 2011 (UTC)

I had to bring out a monster that can only be summoned by a fusion effect. And that fusion can be brought out by another fusion. Sounds easy enough.
I decided to combine Mirage Knight with an archtype all about fusions, the Elemental HEROes! Sounds simple enough. Use Prisma to become Dark Magician, activate Instant Fusion, and fuse. The cool thing? This deck has an inherent back-up plan! This deck can bring out all the Elemental HEROes, without the use of your opponents monsters (but Super Polymerization is in there anyway). The deck supports itself as a toolbox, getting the right HERO for the job. The reason Dark Paladin is there? This deck has Dark Magician and a fusion substitute, why shouldn't it be here? VOTING
After Elite Wolf posts I will create a poll. ---Dark Ace SP™ (Talk) 22:51, September 7, 2011 (UTC)
<Poll> Which deck will win this competition? Chaosdukemon's "My Perfect Specimen" Bewk's "Spectrum of Chaos" Blue-Eyes Starlight Dragon's "Cannons Online? VWXYZ Activate!" BF2's "VWXYZ" Hail Me! aka. Darkskylarkalexanderx's "VWXplosion!" Lappyzard's "SK, Y - FI, and RE Spell Your Doom" Synchro Maniac 10's "Machina Salvo Reactors" Kagimizu's "Mirage Knight" Battlemaniac's "Mirage!" Elite Wofl's "Elemental Hero Mirage Knight" </Poll>
In my experience polls like this aren't particularly reliable. People can just log out and vote again, or have other people vote as well multiple times. Maybe having people actually saing what they vote for would be a good idea?--Kagimizu-Seeya 'round 03:00, September 8, 2011 (UTC)
- But the thing is, we expect people to be honest, plus one of our rules is for you to NEVER vote for yourself. We expect that, plus its easier this way. WE EXPECT EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATES TO NOT VOTE FOR THEMSELVES. ---Dark Ace SP™ (Talk) 03:24, September 8, 2011 (UTC)
- Also, I post on the general Forum to let random wiki users know about the voting, so people might come and vote. However, I will ask Dino if there is a way to track who votes... ---Dark Ace SP™ (Talk) 03:27, September 8, 2011 (UTC)
That's just it: there isn't. People could cast a vote and no-one would possibly know.--Kagimizu-Seeya 'round 18:34, September 8, 2011 (UTC)
Winner
Congratulations to Bewk! Now, if you didn't win, don't feel bad I saw a lot of good creative ways people built there decks. Also, thank you to everyone who participated. ---Dark Ace SP™ (Talk) 21:58, September 8, 2011 (UTC)
