Ideas/Suggestions

  • I've invited Runer, do you guys have anyone you've thought of to invite? --Tantara 20:28, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
  • Messenger of the Dark might be a good choice. Many Weekly Deck Competition members could be good choices. -bewk
  • I've just been thinking about him, he could be a good contestant. Which of the WDC competitors do you have in mind? Please remember that this'll be a lot of work. --Tantara 20:36, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
  • Count me in... if at all possible, I'd like Quick Synchro and Monarchs. Runer5h 21:55, 21 August 2009 (UTC)Runer5h
  • If allowed, I could post a generic message on all the contestants talk page with a link to Tantara's talk, and - if they are interested - they could then try and register there. How does that sound?
  • Also, once we get this started, I will probably take on the tasks of writing the Gladiator Beast Guide, the Lightsworn Guide, the Zombie Guide, the and Psychic Guide in fair time. I have much knowledge with those decks, along with partial knowledge with several more decks. I am not 'calling' them, I'm just letting you know what decks I can cover. -bewk
  • Let's not split up the guides just yet, I've invited messenger. Whoo! I feel like we're the elite! --Tantara 00:40, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
  • Are there any other duelists that could be good contestands? --Tantara 00:42, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
  • Yeah, not unlike being the elite. Other ideas for contestants... what about Chris427? He happens to have a deckmaking tutorial already (specifically, a Stone Statue OTK) and it's quite good. Runer5h 00:45, 22 August 2009 (UTC)Runer5h
  • I've thought about Chris as well. I've tried to contact him but he no longer seems to be on. --Tantara 00:49, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
  • Hmm... I don't know... Gadjiltron has made a variety of decks, so I guess he might work. Runer5h 01:08, 22 August 2009 (UTC)Runer5h
  • I vote yes on Gadjiltron. He looks solid. --Tantara 01:12, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
  • OK. Someone notify him. Runer5h 01:15, 22 August 2009 (UTC)Runer5h
  • I'll do it. --Tantara 01:16, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
  • BTW, I probably won't have internet access for about a week starting tomorrow (I may be wrong about this). Runer5h 01:17, 22 August 2009 (UTC)Runer5h
  • This is going to be a long term thing, so no worries. If we start, we'll just start on one guide each. --Tantara 01:24, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
  • I've made a page for everyone else to tell us what guides they'd like. --Tantara 03:06, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
  • How about Trivi-AM? Just look at his decks. -bewk
    • Oh yeah, will we be covering OCG decks, like Genex, Ice Barrier, etc.? -bewk
  • I'd really rather keep it to TCG (OCG is so much bigger), but that's just my vote. And I like Trivi-AM as well. BEWK, would you invite him? --Tantara 05:15, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
  • Hey all, I've heard from you and I'd be delighted to join in. --Gadjiltron 09:30, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
  • Ok, let's all pick out one (yes, BEWK, I'm looking at you!) deck on the to create a guide on. BEWK, have you invited Trivi yet? --Tantara 18:55, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
  • Trivi-AM has yet to reply. Does the deck have to be on that page? I will choose Gladiator Beasts. -bewk
  • If it's not on the page, add it. I gave the wrong link before, oops. Here's the edited link Anyone else want to claim a guide? --Tantara 00:27, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
  • I'll take Macro, I'm experienced in that. --Gadjiltron 05:11, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
  • There is something wrong with the link. And as far as choosing a deck, and building a deck guide, how exactly do we cover that? Isn't that exactly what the Deck Types pages do? Messengerofthedark 08:22, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
Actually, nevermind, I'm going to withdraw myself. I already have WDC, and am fairly busy, so I don't think that I would have the time, and don't really have the qualifications. Messengerofthedark 08:41, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
  • It's your choice, but this isn't something that you have to do all at once. I, myself, am going to do my guides on the week ends. The invitation stands if you'd like to rejoin. Darth Covah and Airbellum would like to join. What do you all think of them? --Tantara 14:04, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
  • Darth Covah, Airbellum, and Blackwingggys would like to join. What do you all think? --Tantara (talk) 22:09, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
  • I can tell you that Darth's a really good deck builder, he'd be perfect for this sort of thing. (I don't know about Airbellum and Blackwingggys, though, never seen their decks so I can't say much about them) --Bluedog (Talk) 23:19, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
  • I'll take your word on it and invite Darth. I'm totally neutral on Airbellum but I'm kind of shaky with Blackwingggys (a few of his card choices are TOTALLY random sometimes) --Tantara (talk) 23:27, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
  • Like I said, I don't really know about them, so you and the others should decide. --Bluedog (Talk) 23:43, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
  • Blackwingggys knows what he's doing to the extent of the decks that he's familiar with, which is enough. I say that we invite him. --Tantara (talk) 00:40, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
  • I say no to Blackwinggys. He needs to show more deckbuilding prowess first. Messengerofthedark 00:46, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
  • Thanks a lot for the invite guys, I won't let you down. As for the other people who want to join (Blackwinggys and Airbellum), here's my opinion:
-Blackwinggys indeed seems to show skill in decks he's familiar with, but unless he can take the principles that made one of his deck good and apply them to a deck he's never built before, he needs more practice. I'm not saying he is not good, quite the contrary, but skill in deckbuilding comes with a lot of practice, and he does not seem to have enough of that. Sorry mate, I just don't think you are ready yet.
-Airbellum... seeing his page, I don't see anything bad, but I don't see anything extraordinary either. His deck is good, but it is just like all other decks of the GB archetype - it has no personal touch. Also, I see no other examples of deckbuilding from him. Now, his deck is good, and I'm sure he can build decks, but I just can't say how good. I'm afraid you'll need to show us some more stuff mate.

All those being said, I'd like some added info on the guides folks. Is anyone in charge of Lightsworn and Burn guides? Shall I write them? Where will we post them? --Darth Covah (Talk | Contribs) 01:21, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

  • I agree with Darth Covah. And will we be having a template for the deck guides like this? That is just my idea for deck guide structure. So, Tantara, could you create - or give your opinion for - a satisfactory template for the guides? I do not mean to rush anything. -bewk
  • We should get started on this immediately, I added links to the section to select Guides to make as well as the template to the guides. I'll tell Blackwingggys and Airbellum NO then. --Tantara (talk) 18:52, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
  • Duelist33 would like to join, I'm not in favor of this. --Tantara (talk) 20:41, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
  • E-Dizzle would like to join, I am in favor of this. Duelist33 looks like he has a lot of knowledge on several decks, but I am unsure about letting him join. On the other hand, we could use all the help we can get... -bewk
  • I say no to both, we can't have mediocre guides coming out. If you have a guide, post it at the top. --Tantara (talk) 02:06, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
  • dragonty08 would like to join --Tantara (talk) 13:09, 30 August 2009 (UTC)
  • What do you all think? --Tantara (talk) 23:45, 30 August 2009 (UTC)

Complete Guide links

/Gladiator Beasts - That was tough... Tell me what you think. -bewk

  • Get rid of the titles (moosh it into one or two paragraphs) and add some glad variants (winged glads and others), it also needs to explain the reliance on Gyzarus and Heraklinos. I'm going to give an explanation and description of every card that I may potentially use in my deck, you don't have too, but it helps the duelist to understand how the deck works. --Tantara (talk) 21:41, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
    • Winged GB decks are impossible to build these days with the lack of 3 Bestiaris. I will make a section on Fissure Glads, though. -bewk
  • It doesn't matter, just put a note at the top that the limitation of bestiari ruins them. Let's get as many variants as we can handle. I'm up to my head in this fairy guide. I'm covering ALL fairy builds and giving a review of most of the competitive fairy cards. --Tantara (talk) 23:44, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
  • Remove the bit about unfair ban lists, lol. We should be objective here. And the new erata states that Indominable Gladiator Beast sends Gladiator Beast CARDS back to the deck :D Gladiator Beasts are really cheap if you build it by hand using ebay, only like, $60-80. Remove that tag-out bit about Octavius as well as well.. Good job so far! --Tantara (talk) 00:03, 26 August 2009 (UTC)

Check out how I started out, I'd like some opinions before I go on writing a OVER 9000 page long article on Lightsworn decks. And something I noticed is that we must mention stuff like consistency, draw power, recursion cards etc, but we can't expect everyone to know what we are saying, so I thought, instead of having to type it in every guide, why don't we make a basic/beginner's guide, that'll cover basics such as terminology explanation, what to look for in a card etc? Because I can't be going about explaining to everyone why a milled Judgment Dragon is more accessible than one in the deck because of the multitude of recursion cards in the deck. I just can't do that. So, please, can we do something like that too? --Darth Covah (Talk | Contribs) 00:10, 26 August 2009 (UTC)

  • That's making 2 guides out of every single deck. no thank you, haha. I'll check out your guide so far. --Tantara (talk) 00:16, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
  • I dislike the amount of recommended cards idea as that lessens creativity and be bad advice in the first place (Most LS I see run 2 ryko, not 1 =P) Speed, Consistency, etc. idea is interesting as well. It may be a good idea for this guide (as good as the idea is, it doesn't fit for all decks, how would giving a 1/10000000 for speed to cloudians help people build/want to run the deck?) --Tantara (talk) 00:32, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
    • I agree with you. Those are the same things I thought were out of place too. I'll get to making version 2. --Darth Covah (Talk | Contribs) 12:53, 26 August 2009 (UTC)

Whoo, just finished mine. Take a look here. --Gadjiltron 11:32, 26 August 2009 (UTC)

  • Left you a message in the sub-page's Talk Page. Could you also check mine out? I added some more content, and styled some points differently, but it is far from ideal. --Darth Covah (Talk | Contribs) 19:43, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
  • I think Covah has the right idea. Listing all the possible tech choices and explaining why they're used is an excellent way to explain how the deck works. I still think that sample decks are needed though. --Tantara (talk) 20:39, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
  • Almost finished mine. That took SO LONG. I made all the variants by hand as well! Let's post our guides under the section at the top. Post the decks like this: Forum:Deck Guide/DECK --Tantara (talk) 00:58, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
  • I have redone my guide, taking the advice of...many people. -bewk
  • It's very good. Gadjiltron and Covah, get your's up already! --Tantara (talk) 02:54, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
    • My Lightsworns Guide is ready. I haven't had time to put the deck variations in it too, but I'll get to it. The guide is damn large though. Maybe too large xD. Check it out. --Darth Covah (Talk | Contribs) 11:52, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
  • Macro Deck Guide fine-tuned and added. --Gadjiltron 14:32, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
  • Anyone want to take a second one? --Tantara (talk) 23:07, 28 August 2009 (UTC)
    • I could do Burn, after I'm done with Twilight, ZombieSworn and RitualSworn xD. --Darth Covah (Talk | Contribs) 23:09, 28 August 2009 (UTC)
    • I will do the Zombie guide as soon as I can spare time for it. -bewk
    • Maybe I'll do plants. A friend of mine runs them, I think I know how to make a decent deck strategy for them. --Gadjiltron 03:52, 29 August 2009 (UTC)
  • Darth, you DO know that Burn would have to include EVERY type of burn besides Volcanics, right? And You have to know the deck inside out, Gadjiltron. --Tantara (talk) 16:50, 29 August 2009 (UTC)
    • I'll switch to Koa'ki Meiru, then. I've played a full-on variant before, and understand how that runs. --Gadjiltron 01:22, 30 August 2009 (UTC)

Back from Maine, had a blast. Well, not exactly; I'm still not quite home, and am stopping at a relative with internet access. I've got my Monarch guide mostly fleshed out, except for strengths and weaknesses. This might be quite a challenge, as Monarch builds can vary vastly - from builds packing Oppression to Macro Monarchs, D-Hero Monarchs and my own Fortune Lady Variant; I've even built 2 builds based around Magical Hats and Psychics packing E-Tele and Telekinetic Power Well.

Still, what matchups should I put in? I've chosen 7 that I think will be relevant come September; Zombies, GBs, Lightsworn, Vayu Turbo, basic BW, quick Synchro, and Skill Drain builds. What else should go in? (Anyone think that Synchro Cat will still be a powerhouse? Or Plants?) Runer5h 22:44, 29 August 2009 (UTC)Runer5h

... um, hello? Runer5h 22:27, 31 August 2009 (UTC)Runer5h
  • Cat Synchro will be reincarnated in X-Sabers. They're amazing. Just put in as much stuff as you can bare. You don't have to put in every variant, just the main ones. --Tantara (talk) 22:38, 31 August 2009 (UTC)
I'm in the process of making the Monarch guide; the problem is that it fits on a 12 page word document. Don't worry; the web version won't be so long, as I had a lot of blank space so as not to cut off deck lists in my word document. Still, it's taking quite a while to transcribe and format correctly. On the bright side, I'm mostly done, so you should see it soon. Runer5h 02:53, 1 September 2009 (UTC)Runer5h
  • We're all warm and fuzzy inside waiting for it ;) --Tantara (talk) 03:08, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

And... done!

Forum:Deck Guide/Monarchs

It's slightly abridged, as I didn't have the heart to put in Destiny Monarchs or Indestructible Monarchs, but quite good nonetheless. Tell me what you think it needs. Runer5h 03:36, 1 September 2009 (UTC)Runer5h

I'd just thought of pointing this out for the Monarch Deck guide, but if we are including all aspects of the deck there a very old version of it called 14 Monarch which is basically contains any number of Monarchs 3 Mother Grizzlies and a Treeborn Frog. It's rarely used but I thought I would just "throw it out there". On a different note I would be willing to do the Burn Deck Guide, unless someone already has "dibs" on it. --Trivi-AM 22:02, September 2, 2009 (UTC)
  • I'm not calling "dibs", but if you want we can co-op. Something like, you do Stall Burn Decks, I do Fast Burn Decks or something xD. How about it? --Darth Covah (Talk | Contribs) 22:05, September 2, 2009 (UTC)
Sure Ok. --Trivi-AM 22:10, September 2, 2009 (UTC)
  • That's a good idea you guys, please cover Cylinder Burn if you cover fast burn Darth Covah! :D --Tantara (talk) 00:12, September 4, 2009 (UTC)
  • Lifisali would like to join the Deck Guide Project, he's interested in the Alien (he's VERY skilled here), Ojama, and Frog. He's got my vote. --Tantara (talk) 00:23, September 4, 2009 (UTC)
I've never seen any of his work in Ojamas and Frogs, but he does seem to have a much better understanding of Aliens than I do, at least. His explanation for the deck on his page is more thorough than mine (a rare trait), and I think he'd do a good job at explaining that deck. Runer5h 01:05, September 4, 2009 (UTC)Runer5h
  • He's apparently a bigshot on the Gaia Online Forums (not close to TCGplayer or pojo standards, but still.... I know ur reading this Lifisali :P). I told him to put up his Ojama and Frog decks as well. I could probably cover Aliens as well, but he'd cover them much more efficiently. --Tantara (talk) 01:10, September 4, 2009 (UTC)

Would it be possible for me to help, mainly at varieties of Plant Decks,Six Sams,Psychics and I have made a competitive Cloudian Deck before, so if you want guides for the above decks ill help?

Doz Bate 18:19, September 5, 2009 (UTC)

  • Doz Bate would like to join. I'm against this as he doesn't bother to read instructions. If he can't read instructions, how could he possibly make instructions for other duelist? --Tantara (talk) 19:27, September 5, 2009 (UTC)
Personally I'm against it as well (sorry Doz Bate if you're reading this), mostly for the same reasons as you Tantara. On a different note I can't access the Guide template page, whenever I do it comes up with an error message saying that it has an invalid page name, secondly regarding the Burn Guide I will do it (haven't decided which sort yet) but I do have 1 question being would you say that Bad Reaction Burn Deck can be fast or slow so which guide does/should it go in? --Trivi-AM 21:25, September 5, 2009 (UTC)
BLAZING fast. I dueled one that went through more than half my LP in one turn. Runer5h 21:54, September 5, 2009 (UTC)Runer5h
  • any burn deck with very little stall is a fast burn deck. Can I have one more person give their opinions on lifisali and doz? -Tantara (talk) 23:28, September 5, 2009 (UTC)
  • Lifisali and Doz Bates need one more vote before we come to a conclusion. Blackwingggys has apparently made progres as a deckbuilder and would like to apply. --Tantara (talk) 01:26, September 6, 2009 (UTC)

ATTENTION! - I've talked to Dannylilithborne and Deltaneos, there are a series of Deck Pages on this wikia that are being considered for deletion. If they are deleted, we are encouraged to absorb the information off of the page into our Deck Guides. In return, we'll be allowed to have our Deck Guides on the main forum page (along with Deck Help and the Duel Terminal) --Tantara (talk) 01:26, September 6, 2009 (UTC)

If they are deleted, a lot of their content will likely be merged to their Archetype/Type/Attribute/Tips pages anyway. (Not all of them are even being considered for deletion.) Whether they're deleted or not, you can still copy their content here if you wish. Deck Guide having its own branch in the forums isn't really resting on the failure of the Deck pages considered for deletion. If the project is popular enough whether those Deck pages are deleted or not, it can still have its section in the main forum index. -- Deltaneos (talk) 01:47, September 6, 2009 (UTC)
  • Core Chimail Deck Guide complete. Also, I'm voting yes on Lifisali. --Gadjiltron 07:53, September 6, 2009 (UTC)
  • Excellent guide, the only thing I find a little dissappointing is that there are so few Koa'ki Meiru Variants. That's not your fault, so... I'm letting Lifisali know that he's invited for Aliens. Doz Bates still needs another vote --Tantara (talk) 15:21, September 6, 2009 (UTC)
  • Doz Bates needs another vote and Blackwingggys would like to reapply (JUST for the Blackwing Guide) --Tantara (talk) 22:48, September 9, 2009 (UTC)
  • Hmm, maybe I'll take up the Crystal Beast Guide next. Also, for the Blackwings Guide only, I find Blackwingggys fine for that task. --Gadjiltron 09:27, September 10, 2009 (UTC)

I would just like to ask something, regarding the Quick Burn Guide (which I will start very soon) there isn't really a deck called "Quick Burn" and all of the decks are variations of that "idea", so should I treat them as such until proven/shown otherwise? --Trivi-AM 11:38, September 10, 2009 (UTC)

  • Doz Bates needs another vote and Blackwingggys would like to reapply (JUST for the Blackwing Guide)

Duh there's no deck called quick burn, quick burn is just a concept of burn decks that don't run very much stall, quick burn decks include Bubble Burn and Cylinder Burn. --Tantara (talk) 20:39, September 10, 2009 (UTC)

Crystal Beast guide is complete. I think there rare a few other variants I missed, but I lack knowledge of examples. --Gadjiltron 14:55, September 12, 2009 (UTC)

  • Doz Bates needs another vote and Blackwingggys would like to reapply (JUST for the Blackwing Guide) --Tantara (talk) 01:44, September 14, 2009 (UTC)
  • Would yall please post? Most fairy variants complete :D --Tantara (talk) 00:24, September 16, 2009 (UTC)
Well, the thing is that I've got school work for the first time in about 3 months, and boy is it a doozie. Also, I'm reluctant to make a guide on a deck I've never played before personally. (Among those I haven't played; Arcana Force, E-Heroes, D-Heroes, Cloudians... the list is endless :P) Monarchs are an archetype I am familiar with, but as for the others I don't want to give advice that does not have experience backing it. Runer5h 01:01, September 16, 2009 (UTC)Runer5h
  • Got school too, I'm finding it hard to get time to work on all of this as well. Monarch isn't the only deck that you're experienced with, I know you. --Tantara (talk) 01:30, September 16, 2009 (UTC)
Fine, I have conceptualized decks of nearly every archetype that exists and most that don't. But as for actual in-game experience, I'm a lot less qualified to make a deck on, say, Skill Drain - even if I've made a dozen Skill Drain decks in my mind I have never used one in reality, and there's always in-depth information about an archetype that's nigh-impossible to get without experience. You know; strengths, weaknesses, etc. Runer5h 01:46, September 16, 2009 (UTC)Runer5h
  • Same, I've got school to deal with as well. Busy Lifi is busy. I'll get to work on the Alien Guide as soon as I can though. --Lifisali 01:41, September 16, 2009 (UTC)
  • Lol, Runer, this is what YVD is for. And will you all vote on Doz Bates and Blackwingggys? I just need a vote each. --Tantara (talk) 02:44, September 16, 2009 (UTC)
... For Doz... yes, I vote him in. As for BW... I'm undecided. He plays a helluva Blackwing deck, but I can't speak for his ability on other decks. Runer5h 03:05, September 16, 2009 (UTC)Runer5h

  • Doz Bates needs another vote and Blackwingggys would like to reapply (JUST for the Blackwing Guide) --Tantara (talk) 10:45, September 16, 2009 (UTC)
  • I'm fine with Blackwingggys if he's doing only the Blackwings guide. Doz Bates... sure. --Gadjiltron 12:17, September 16, 2009 (UTC)
  • Hey guys. Sorry that I haven't contributed more for some time, but I have a practical issue (that you'd have noticed if you'd visited my User Page). My PC has kicked the bucket (aka is inoperable, dead, out of order, etc). So you understand that I will hardly be able to see my inbox, let alone contribute to the project. This is temporary (I hope :-S), and I do believe that this situation will be resolved by early October. Again, I'm sorry, but this is out of my hands... when the damn GPU decides it's time to get fried, that's the end of it.
P.S. Please no "GOTCHA IF YOU HAVE NO PC HOW DID YOU LEAVE THIS MESSAGE LOL OWNED N00B". I was using a relative's PC. Simple.
P.P.S. If you decide that you can't wait for me, I can't blame you. But I am still willing to contribute once I'm back. --Darth Covah (Talk | Contribs) 17:18, September 19, 2009 (UTC)
  • Don't worry Darth, we're not doing much. I'm just WAITING FOR SOME VOTES >:( --Tantara (talk) 00:33, September 22, 2009 (UTC)
    • I am so sorry for my inactivity. I have either been sick or really busy. I have updated my GB guide, and I do not endorse the addition of Doz Bate. I have doubts on adding Blackwingggys to the project, but I would not mind having him here. And don't give up - my Zombie guide is almost here. -bewk

Whoa, how long has it been since the last post? I've almost finished my exams, so in between studying for that last one, I'll do the Mill Deck guide. --Gadjiltron 09:35, October 8, 2009 (UTC)

  • I updated the Lightsworn Guide, adding more stuff in the Twilight variant. I'd like some comments please! Also, tell me if you think I've forgotten a card (in the Monsters section, since that is done), so that I can add it as well. --Darth Covah (Talk | Contribs) 22:01, October 11, 2009 (UTC)

Guide Switch.

I'm dropping Aliens and doing Morphtronics instead. Is that okay with everyone? Tantara votes yes, I think. --Lifisali 04:20, October 17, 2009 (UTC)

I vote yes. Also, I was working on my Zombie guide when my computer freaked out. This will delay the Zombie guide further. Sorry. -bewk
Sure. --Gadjiltron 05:51, October 18, 2009 (UTC)
  • I finally finished my fairy guide :D. I'm going to pick out another one now... --Tantara (talk) 20:35, October 30, 2009 (UTC)
  • I've chosen to do Hopeless Dragon, which will be a nice break after my long and arduous fairy guide. I have a proposal - Include a section on how to counter the deck --Tantara (talk) 05:09, October 31, 2009 (UTC)
    • Good idea. It serves as a way for deckbuilders to watch out for the Deck's weaknesses and modify for it, while also allow for other players to see where the Deck is weakest and attack it appropriately when facing it. --Gadjiltron 15:16, October 31, 2009 (UTC)
I like it. -bewk
  • Thanks! I can't stand people like that. He could have read the first paragraph and saved himself all of that work. --Tantara (talk) 04:49, November 1, 2009 (UTC)
    • Your welcome. I modified the opening paragraph, if that was okay with you. Sorry. I feel bad for the guy. -bewk
  • Ok, thanks. He kind of deserved it though... It was obvious what the page was, he had to be completely oblivious to ignore all of it and start a guide. --Tantara (talk) 04:59, November 1, 2009 (UTC)
  • NOTE TO SELF - REMIND EVERYONE TO DO THE GUIDES THAT THEY SIGNED UP FOR --Tantara (talk) 05:01, November 1, 2009 (UTC)
  • Mill Guide is done. Check it out here. I'll probably add the Iron Chain Stall form later. --Gadjiltron 05:06, November 1, 2009 (UTC)
  • I am close to completion. -bewk
  • I have finished the main LS guide, now working on finishing Twilight (I even added the horrendous new LS cards. But I would appreciate some comments! Also, I think the "anti-" section is a good idea, I'll probably add one too, but some time after the guide is fully completed. --Darth Covah (Talk | Contribs) 13:04, November 1, 2009 (UTC)
I have updated my GB guide. Please comment on it! -bewk
  • I commented. User:Flushy would like to join us. I say yes! He knows a lot about multiple decks and his builds are innovative and powerful, though a teensy bit unorthodox (see his DivaDAD-DDT hybrid) --Tantara (talk) 23:14, November 16, 2009 (UTC)
Me too. I've been eyeing his decks on his userpage for a while. -bewk
  • I'll vouch for Sub. He's a really good deckbuilder. As for the "get active" request, trust me, I am trying. It's really hard to do anything this semester. I'm fully loaded with classes and labwork, and I have minimal free time. Sorry. I'll get to it ASAP. --Darth Covah (Talk | DeckZone | Binder) 22:47, November 19, 2009 (UTC)
  • Ok, I'll let him know he's in, what about Flushy? We need another vote on him, he's an

excellent deckbuilder --Tantara (talk) 22:55, November 19, 2009 (UTC)

  • I'm saying yes. I can't see anything wrong with Flushy and his decks - if anything, they're really good - original and well-built. --Darth Covah (Talk | DeckZone | Binder) 22:58, November 19, 2009 (UTC)
  • I'm okay for both of them. As for guides... I'm not sure on which to start on next. --Gadjiltron 10:10, November 20, 2009 (UTC)

Can anybody give some advice for my Forum:Deck Guide/D-Hero/Non-Synchro? I just started work on it. Is providing 5 types/variants of deck build enough? Flushy 12:09, November 20, 2009 (UTC)

Five is definitely enough. By the way, I DID do a section on D-Hero Monarchs. Runer5h 20:49, November 20, 2009 (UTC)Runer5h
I thought you didn't. So, should I cover it anyway? Or I don't? Flushy 23:09, November 20, 2009 (UTC)
  • D-Hero isn't that expansive of a subgroup, it's the general DARK variants that are trouble. Things like DDT, DARK Return, Norleras builds... there might be dozens. Anyways, User:Akiza'sRose66 would like to join us. --Tantara (talk) 21:58, November 20, 2009 (UTC)
  • Oh no. Hmm... I must gather more research on dark. I say yes. Although all of his decks are creative, some are really very good, honorable mentions are Endymion Earthbounds and Hopeless-Sworn. For that guide, I might work on another section for that guide to add in a DARK attributed decks. --Flushy 23:09, November 20, 2009 (UTC)
  • Agreed, no one guide should be more than six variants (see my fairy guide... it was so much work...). Need another vote on Akiza's Rose. I'm not sure about this one. The decks are decent, but they lack perfect synergy. I'll try to remember to ask her which guide she's going to apply for. --Tantara (talk) 00:15, November 21, 2009 (UTC)
  • I say we add her. I think that experimenting with as many decktypes as she has is good, and she could write guides on uncommon decktypes. At the very least, we could put her on probation. --Darth Covah (Talk | DeckZone | Binder) 02:04, November 21, 2009 (UTC)
  • Ok, we need one more vote to clinch this. --Tantara (talk) 02:09, November 21, 2009 (UTC)

Hey, Gadjil? Given that so many Insects have mill effects (Needle Worm, Aztekipede, Doom Dozer, Warm/Shield Worm, Chainsaw Insect) you might want to make an insect-specific Mill decck. Just putting that out there. Runer5h 02:38, November 21, 2009 (UTC)Runer5h

  • So Insects won't get their own guide...? They're not as bad as you'd think... Maybe a Spider/Insect build? --Tantara (talk) 02:47, November 21, 2009 (UTC)
I don't think they're bad at all. I used to use a Verdant Sanctuary-based beatdown build, and it worked fairly well. But I think Insect Mill should be put in the Mill category AND the Insect Category. Runer5h 02:52, November 21, 2009 (UTC)Runer5h
  • Oh, that? Well, I did plan out a Worm Mill Deck before... Maybe I'll put that in. --Gadjiltron 13:03, November 21, 2009 (UTC)

Zombie guide...is almost...finished...sorry...tight schedule...busy with Decks for Free...I...vote yes for Akiza...decks look solid...cosplay wierd though...so tired... -bewk

  • I'm looking forward to this guide. I'll let Akiza know she's in, I sympathize for your exhaustion, BEWK --Tantara (talk) 03:18, November 21, 2009 (UTC)
  • User:Animedude3000 would like to join, as well. --Tantara (talk) 14:08, November 22, 2009 (UTC)
  • I say no. That deck he made was average and the spell line-up lack full synergy with the monster line-up. He is playing 3 CotLB with only 5 Lightsworn monsters and there are no monster reincarnations in his deck. Its a good concept, but very under-developed. Flushy 00:24, November 23, 2009 (UTC)
  • Ok, need two more votes. --Tantara (talk) 01:44, November 23, 2009 (UTC)

I would like to take the Plant deck Guide, along with possibly a category of Insects. I would also really like to do a few guides on the Earthbound Immortals, either seperately or as a whole. Thank you for accepting me into this!!--Black Rose 19:23, November 25, 2009 (UTC)

Sorry. I did decide on Plant to start with though. And just as a heads up, it might be a while before the guide is finished, I'm really busy with school at this time. I'm on Thanksgiving break, so I may be able to finish early, but I felt I should give you fair warning, so as you don't consider me lazy on my first job.--Black Rose 19:47, November 25, 2009 (UTC)

  • This is a long term project, we don't expect you to just spew them out. Welcome to the team :) --Tantara (talk) 20:22, November 25, 2009 (UTC)

The Destiny Hero Guide is done. The link can be found here. Please rate and comment its content, and hopefully, you guys also give additional feedback on any inaccuracies that is found in the Guide. Thanks. I'll be starting on Dark builds on another page if you guys don't mind. A Dark Guide link will be posted over on to the D-Hero page also. --Flushy 12:02, November 26, 2009 (UTC)

Ah, it's about time I get to work on another Guide... Right, I'll go take Slow Burn. Do Reficule builds fall under that category? --Gadjiltron 01:37, November 27, 2009 (UTC)

  • You've gotta double check with Triv, but I think it classifies as a Quick Burn deck. How much stall do Reficule builds use? --Tantara (talk) 01:53, November 27, 2009 (UTC)
  • I'm sure they take some time to get their combo set up, particularly with the Gift Card OTK involved. It won't be rare to see some stall be used in Reficule builds. --Gadjiltron 01:59, November 27, 2009 (UTC)
  • I'd think that it'd run more like gadjets, with Kuribon, Soul Taker and such. Anyways, ask Triv. --Tantara (talk) 02:03, November 27, 2009 (UTC)

Can I have Plants to start out then? I could cover Gigavise, Plant Synchro, Debris-Hime, Amaryllis Burn, DARK Plants, Garden Control, and Gear Garden.--Black Rose 21:51, November 29, 2009 (UTC)

  • Fine by me. --Tantara (talk) 21:56, November 29, 2009 (UTC)

And this question may make me seem like a complete idiot, but how do I start the new page where my guide will be?--Black Rose 22:33, November 29, 2009 (UTC)

All right, got it, Thanks. Now begins the long, hard part...--Black Rose 23:04, November 29, 2009 (UTC)

Where can I find information on recent reigonals and rankings for my deck guide?--Akiza Izayoi 18:40, December 13, 2009 (UTC)

Guide

  • Thought I'd open a new section for more efficiency... Anyways, if any of you know the Hopeless Dragon deck, would you mind telling me which cards I missed here?--Tantara (talk) 02:12, November 27, 2009 (UTC)
I think you missed out Five-Headed Dragon and Future Fusion. These are very good milling cards. And you might have missed out A Wingbeat of a Giant Dragon. --Flushy 04:49, November 27, 2009 (UTC)
  • I got Future Fusion, but I'll add the Dragon Synchros, Five-Headed Dragon, and Wingbeat. Thanks! --Tantara (talk) 04:53, November 27, 2009 (UTC)
  • Quick update on my guide. I was out during Thanksgiving week for a wedding. Indian weddings are generally a one to two week event, so I didn't have time to work on it then. I've made great progress so far, but I'm not going to post anything until I get the first BW variant completely done. --Sub (Talk | Contribs) 23:03, November 29, 2009 (UTC)
  • Would you mind adding your name to the list at the top of the page? --Tantara (talk) 23:08, November 29, 2009 (UTC)
  • BTW, should a section for side decking to be added for competitive deck, or both competitive or non-competitive decks? --Flushy 12:13, November 30, 2009 (UTC)
  • I'd do side decks for just competitive decks. It's really your own choice, not everyone has a side decking section (though this is an excellent idea...) --Tantara (talk) 00:39, December 1, 2009 (UTC)
  • Right, User:NYKid8295 and User:Animedude3000 are interested in joining us. NYKid could possibly work on Cloudians and Animedude on X-Sabers. Need votes! --Tantara (talk) 01:26, December 3, 2009 (UTC)
    • I'm not too sure about both of them. They'll probably need to show a little more... ingenuity with their deckbuilding. --Gadjiltron 02:17, December 3, 2009 (UTC)
True. -bewk
  • I haven't seen Animedude's builds, but NYKid can make some pretty good stuff. Recently, he made an anti-meta Fortune Lady deck for Decks for Free!. It was very interesting, utilizing Barbaros and Future Visions with Fortune Future. I'll vouch for his building of the cloudian guide. --Tantara (talk) 02:23, December 3, 2009 (UTC)
  • Guess I'll need to look more thoroughly when I try to evaluate potential members. NYKid's done some interesting ideas here. Thumbs-up for him. --Gadjiltron 02:34, December 3, 2009 (UTC)
  • He's new to deckbuilding, I think he'll be pretty good with a little more experience. Plus, it's just cloudians :) --Tantara (talk) 02:36, December 3, 2009 (UTC)
    • I say yes to NYKid. -bewk
    • I think NYKid must prove himself more? But I'll say yes. I like his Core Reactor Deck. --Flushy 15:52, December 4, 2009 (UTC)
  • Can we get a few more votes on both NYKid and Animedude? --Tantara (talk) 03:20, December 5, 2009 (UTC)
  • Hey, I will be starting on the Dark Guide soon, for your info. --Flushy 09:41, December 5, 2009 (UTC)
  • I'm not sure on NYKid...I'll give my decision on him in a couple days (too tired to even think about it right now lol). As for Animedude, he's my brother so there would be a conflict of interest in voting for/against him. My Blackwing guide is finally up! You can take a look at it here. I will be updating it some more in the next couple days (adding more variants, proofread more, etc.), but I just wanted to get something up right now. I will probably be doing a small analysis of each variant, so that readers can get a better feel for the deck before trying to build it. I'll also be adding cost of the deck, etc. Feel free to comment on it though! --Sub (Talk | Contribs) 06:54, December 6, 2009 (UTC)
I'd have mentioned Burial from a Different Dimension for Vayu builds. Runer5h 23:04, December 6, 2009 (UTC)Runer5h
  • Well guys, I guess it's time for me to make my Deck Guides debut. I'll work on X-Sabers (which I have become very familiar with recently) if nobody is already working on them, and there are no objections. DemonGodAsura 05:13, December 7, 2009 (UTC)
Oh, you are very familiar with them indeed. I have no objection. Runer5h 20:26, December 7, 2009 (UTC)Runer5h
  • No objections, either. We still need votes on NYKidd and Animedide. --Tantara (talk) 23:40, December 7, 2009 (UTC)
  • Hey guys! I kinda disappeared for a while, but I'm back. I've started my Morphtronic Guide. You can view the progress I've made so far on my User Page(yeah, its going to be there. I might make its on page sometime later, but for now I'm keeping it on my profile)--Lifisali 05:43, December 13, 2009 (UTC)
  • Hi everybody. I am really happy that i was accepted even though you all didnt finish voting (thanks Tantara!) and i am going to start right away on the guide. Again, i am absolutely excited to be here and i have a break coming up this thursday that goes all the way to Januray 7th so i will try to get this up by then but i cant guarantee anything cause my mom really wants me to start reading more; i havent read a book in 6 months. It is depressing that i have sunk that low so i am trying to fix it before my mom takes any drastic measures so please bear with me.NYKid8295 18:14, December 13, 2009 (UTC)
  • We did finish voting, Messenger gave me his vote in off of this thread. This is a long term project, NYKid, so It's no big deal. --Tantara (talk) 18:36, December 13, 2009 (UTC)
  • If anybody wants take a look at the guide so far, here is the link Forum:Deck Guide/Cloudians. I have gotten a good amount done so tell me what you think so far. Am i saying and covering enough or do i need to sya more on what i have already written? Do you guys think that my logic is ok so far? Take a look and tell me what how i am doing for a newbie. NYKid8295 20:54, December 14, 2009 (UTC)
  • Quick revision, with the exception of defense, all of the fields (speed, consistency, power, etc.) should be lowered to .5-2.5. Cloudians are renowned for being one of the worst archetypes ever created, terrible speed, low power, etc. Another thing that you should note is that there is, in fact, a cloudian draw card (though it's unusable). Also, remove all the stuff about recommending how many of each card should be run, we should encourage creativity, giving a duelist a set path does not endorse this. Besides these things, nice guide so far. We need one last vote on animedude. --Tantara (talk) 00:56, December 15, 2009 (UTC)

I guess. Maybe because i thought that cloudians have potential. I think that with some modifications, they can be very good, not as good as Lightsworns or Gladiator beasts but they can be good if you add more to them like monarchs and stuff because they can get them out easily. They can have a lot of power in this way but speed, and power in general, should be lower i guess. Maybe i was being too enthusiastic about them. I still think they are good and arent the worst archetype ever but nobody has ever bothered to try to power them up or make them competitive. I know i am new and i dont know much about AnimeDude but i saw his decks and i like the Diva Zombies but his X-sabers were a little weird because he used only 5 Lightsworns in the whole deck so i dont know about what he really has in mind. I only saw two decks that he had so i dont know but from those 2 i think he might have to show more because the decks dont look so outstanding that i would say yes at this point. Just my thoughts, no offense to Sub or anything. NYKid8295 16:47, December 15, 2009 (UTC)

  • Just so you know, you're not the only duelist to have attempted cloudians. There have been dozens, if not hundreds of attempts by people throughout the online forums. All of the attempts have failed for a reason; they're a sub-standard archetype with pathetic support and a poor archetype-strategy. --Tantara (talk) 00:43, December 16, 2009 (UTC)
  • I checked TCGplayer and found only a little even on the official discussion thread. I think their support is ok but you are right when you say that their strategy is weird and kind of slow. NYKid8295 15:47, December 16, 2009 (UTC)
  • Whoohoo! X-Sabers are (for the time being) finished. Let me know anything you think I should add/remove, and I will review it. Not too bad for my first one since joining a few months ago. ^_^ DemonGodAsura 10:32, December 17, 2009 (UTC)
  • You didn't cover a normal X-Saber deck. They are a little more consistent than SaberSworns so you should probably include a section on that. I think that it was a great idea not to give an example deck and i like how you only posted staples and their use in the deck. Not bad but too short for me. You should have included an explanation for all of the X-Sabers and their uses and some tech cards too. This is like a video game guide. It lists all the levels, extras, and items and walkthroughs for them. In the same way you have to explain and list all the cards and tech cards. NYKid8295 16:50, December 18, 2009 (UTC)
I planned on making a normal X-Saber section once Absolute Powerforce is TCG released, as I'm building one. The cards in that set are critical, but that section is coming. DemonGodAsura 17:50, December 18, 2009 (UTC)
Also, because this is an archetype, I figured that posting all the X-Saber cards is useless, as they already have an article, including a play stye. This is just a guide to the decks, not for the archetype. ^_^ DemonGodAsura 17:59, December 18, 2009 (UTC)
  • Alright, that's cool and i get it but maybe you should explain the use of some X-Saber cards in the context of the decks because that is what people need to know when making the deck because, taking me as an example, i never thought about a deck's strategy altogether but just how good the cards were individually and i didnt think about their synergy either so you should explain that at least. I still recommend having a section on the cards specifically explaining them and their play style because the guides are supposed to cover everything from the mechanics to the cards and their uses. Look at everybody else's guides and you will see what i mean but i still like your take on the way you explain the decks:) NYKid8295 13:17, December 18, 2009 (UTC)

Section

When do you all believe that we should attempt to have our own section for these? I say maybe 1-2 more guides. --Tantara (talk) 23:30, December 18, 2009 (UTC)

Do you mean on the Home Page? Yes, I think that after a one or two more of the top-tier deck guides are completed.--Akiza Izayoi 00:41, December 19, 2009 (UTC)

  • Yeah I'd agree with that. I'd at least like to see the Zombie guide up before adding another section. --Sub (Talk | Contribs) 01:40, December 19, 2009 (UTC)
  • I have a question. Should we take credit for these by signing it (i.e. Fairy Guide by Tantara)? -bewk 02:56, December 19, 2009 (UTC)
  • Yeah, I mean under the forums section (it'll be there along with the Duel Terminal and Weekly Deck Competition). I believe that if we took the time to make the guide, we should get some credit for it. These aren't an official explanations, these are user created guides. Signing our names will provide people someone to ask questions to. --Tantara (talk) 03:27, December 19, 2009 (UTC)

I'm not sure if this is worth mentioning, but I was browsing the Koa'ki Meiru Guide, and Maximus' Summoning requirements are explained wrong. Gadjiltron said that you must remove a Koa'ki Meiru monster in order to Summon him, whereas in actuallity you must revove the Iron Core to bring him out. Like I said, not sure if this is worth mentioning or not, but I figured I should.--Akiza Izayoi 12:53, December 21, 2009 (UTC)

  • Thanks for pointing this out. I'll go rectify the error immediately. --Gadjiltron 01:58, December 25, 2009 (UTC)
  • True, Akiza, but try and leave such comments on the corresponding guide's Talk Page - it is much easier for the person who is responsible for that guide to see them and correct them quickly that way. Plus we are all happy to see someone took the time to read through our guides and leave us a message! --Darth Covah (Talk | DeckZone | Binder) 09:55, December 22, 2009 (UTC)
  • Hey everybody. Just want to say Happy Holidays! I just posted my new Zombiecharge deck i made because i got some Lightsworns (finally). Please go and check it out and leave some suggestions on my talk. Read the explanation under the decklist too so you see where i am coming from:) Thanks! NYKid8295 15:34, December 23, 2009 (UTC)
  • Haha, wrong place to ask for help, NYKid. And while we're off topic, who's excited for March?! Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon and Dandylion have been confirmed as the ABPF SE Promo Cards! And NYKid, make sure to sign your name in the decklists of finished decks on DFF (e.g. Cyber Triple OTK by Martyn). Merry Christmas, Happy late-Channukah, good Eid Ul-Adha (sorry if I got this context wrong...), etc. --Tantara (talk) 19:26, December 23, 2009 (UTC)
  • Happy holidays indeed - as we say around where I live, happy Hannakwanzamass. (We're VERY politically correct.) Runer5h 01:35, December 24, 2009 (UTC)Runer5h
  • Yeah, i know it was off topic but since all the best are here than i thought that it would be easier to post something here:) I cant believe that Red Eyes Darkness Metal and Dandylion are going to be the promos. That's awesome! I need some Metal Dragons because they are awesome. You must be especially happy Thor, since you're using Dragon Nohr now. Right, i forgot about putting my name in the deck title but i thought that it's a little obvious that i built the deck when it was in my post and signed the post at the end but i guess you're right. I'll keep that expression in mind Runer. BTW, to all who dont know (it was so obscure that i had to even ask), Akiza is a GUY! Sorry dude but i have to say, nobody could tell by the way you wrote and since you call yourself akiza, it's a little suspect. Anyway, i thought i should inform the curious masses;) NYKid8295 14:50, December 25, 2009 (UTC)
  • You can just call me Martyn. It's not like i havent said that's my name and since you kinda gave it away anyway, you all can just call me that:) NYKid8295 14:52, December 25, 2009 (UTC)

Slow Burn Guide is done, though I haven't finished the example Decks. I'd like to know whether I missed out on any notable variants. --Gadjiltron 04:20, December 31, 2009 (UTC)

  • hey im still here and interested in creating the frog guide. just message me if I'm accepted. thanks Lord of Amphibians 10:22, January 3, 2010 (UTC)
  • Very sorry, but a no. You are not showing me that you have completely mastered frogs. I've touched them before and you are not doing it the right way. --Flushy 11:45, January 3, 2010 (UTC)
  • We also state very clearly at the top that anyone who's not a guidemaker is not to post here. --Tantara (talk) 23:21, January 3, 2010 (UTC)
  • sorry I thought the rule of not posting here was referring to posting deck guides. Lord of Amphibians 00:38, January 4, 2010 (UTC)
  • There you go again... :P
  • On a side note, I may be able to do another guide if I have the time. Runer5h 01:06, January 4, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h
  • I looked at the Frog deck in your profile, Lord of Amphibians, and its horrible. So my vote is obviously NO. If anyones going to make a Frog Guide, it's going to be me. I've been playing with them since they debuted, and have continued to play with them since. At all my locals that I go to, ALL shiver in fear of the presense of my Frog deck. I'll start on that guide once I'm done with Morphtronics.

Anyways. Sorry I haven't finished with my guide quite yet. School and other bothersome IRL stuff has been bogging me down a lot. Once I think I have enough free time I'll start grinding out some more on it. Also need to update my deck list a little. I've developed a pretty consistent FTK with Morphtronics, and I'm rather liking it. :) --Lifisali 01:05, January 9, 2010 (UTC)

Infernity

Would anyone be annoyed if I did this? No one's asked for it, to my knowledge, so that might be a problem - as would be the fact that the best cards for the archetype aren't even released in Japan. Still, it would be fun and I'm itching to do another guide - I've got a killer Infernity build. Runer5h 02:57, January 9, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

  • I actually had plans to embark on this, but if you're going to do this I won't stop you. Just stay to the cards that are confirmed for real life so far, and edit accordingly as information becomes available, I suppose. --Gadjiltron 03:07, January 9, 2010 (UTC)
Actually, I'd be delighted to collaborate with you... and AkizasRose66. He's got a VERY good Infernity deck, and I think the more perspectives on this the better. Runer5h 03:16, January 9, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

I was thinking about this while we were dueling, actually. I'd be happy to jump in on this. Gyahahahaha! --Akiza Izayoi 03:24, January 9, 2010 (UTC)

Indeed. So, yours uses Infernity Revenger as opposed to Infernity Beetle, and you run Veil of Darkness. I like to have 3 Waboku and 3 Necro Gardna. What about you, Gadjil? I've never seen your build. Runer5h 03:32, January 9, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h
  • Ah, my build hasn't changed much since the last time I touched it, and it was built around Dark Signer Kiryu and his 100 Eye Dragon. It's the one currently somewhere on my user page. --Gadjiltron 03:35, January 9, 2010 (UTC)

I've found Veil of Darkness extremely handy while top-decking. It digs through my deck, until I draw the Infernities I actually need in my hand, like Gun, Mirage, and Archfiend. I also like the idea for 3 Necro Gardnas, although I think Waboku could be dropped down a bit.--Akiza Izayoi 03:37, January 9, 2010 (UTC)

OK... BTW, I saw a really interesting build somewhere that comboed Handless Fake with Necroface and then revived the removed cards for an OTK. Interesting disruption, says I. Here it is. Runer5h 03:53, January 9, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

I've started, want to see? I need feedback, as I've only made one Infernity deck and your opinions are welcome. Runer5h 04:11, January 9, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

I went ahead and createed the stats for an average Infernity deck. Feel free to tell me if you think they should be changed or anything.--Akiza Izayoi 16:07, January 9, 2010 (UTC)

Looks pretty good to me. I'd say it has more power than 3/5 - even if they don't have beatsticks besides Destroyer the synchro summoning means you'll easily be able to make up for that with multiple level 8 and 9 monsters. Runer5h 19:18, January 9, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h
  • Hey guys, umm... i was wondering if i could help out on this. Despite what it may look like with me only doing cloudians, i am a great deckbuilder (i am also on Decks for Free and have already done numerous decks) and i have also looked at the infernity support extensively plus i have a few ideas of my own on possible variants/infernity decks so~ yeah, i think i can help out a lot! NYKid8295 14:16, January 12, 2010 (UTC)
I created a new Infernity varient, that utilizes Sky Scourge Norleras to bomb the field, then use the card I top-deck to OTK the opponent. It can be found |here. I could use suggestions and comments.--Akiza Izayoi 02:41, January 15, 2010 (UTC)
  • So what's the verdict, am i in? I was thinking about the norleras thing too. I am also thinking about a Dark World/Infinity Hybrid but i am not sure on that yet. I'll make up a decklist so you all can see. NYKid8295 11:41, January 15, 2010 (UTC)

Hmm... let me see that decklist first. By the way: what does the cost/return category on the page mean? Runer5h 22:35, January 19, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

OTK?

This probably isn't the greatest idea, and I'm okay with the fact that it might get shot down. Anyway, what do you guys think about making a Guide for those duelists to finish their opponent in one turn? There would probably be a lot of varients, maybe even too many. Possible decks include:

We could simply give an explanation on how each OTK works, the required and recommended cards, then provide statistics on how often you could pull off he OTK. There could also be a price section, for duelists to determine which costing deck is right for them. Like I said, feel free to shoot the idea down, I would just like some feedback.--Akiza Izayoi 03:31, January 17, 2010 (UTC)

HEADSHOT!!! Good OTK's are usually part of a balanced deck like return otk's with Dark/RFG decks or Lumina Swarm/JD otk's in LS decks. You are doing plants anyway so Gigaplant can go in your plant guide. Viable FTK's/OTK's are never their own deck. I wouldn't want to encourage players to try Exodia decks where all you do is draw the balls out of you and then hope you land the cards before you're bitch smacked by LS and BW. I am aginst these decks on the whole but you can create a guide for them but i dont see them as viable deck options. P.S. i am not really talking about the ones you mentioned because they are highly splashable besides the Explosion OTK (Quillbolt in Quick Sync/Athena in Fairies/Gigaplant in Plants) but stuff like EXodia and all that. NYKid8295 15:55, January 17, 2010 (UTC)

  • Most OTK's will fit under a guide, things like Athena OTK and Gigaplant OTK (...Gigavise...) are already covered, I believe. Quillbolt OTK, Magical Explosion, and maybe a couple other misfits could go into an "Assorted OTK Guide" that has sections for each OTK with links to the corresponding guides. I believe that Exodia and Final Countdown should go into a Stall Guide (Exodia may need it's own guide, there are so many FAST variants)--Tantara (talk) 03:20, January 21, 2010 (UTC)

OK. Runer5h 18:53, January 21, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

I'm fine with his help. However, I'll watch his edits and make changes if I see something wrong. And sorry Tantara, I've been busy. I'll start working on my Guide again when my schedule clears.--Akiza Izayoi 23:39, January 21, 2010 (UTC)

  • It's fine, I've been extremely slow with my Hopeless Guide, as well. This is a long-term project, so... --Tantara (talk) 00:09, January 22, 2010 (UTC)
  • Runer, i just read your monarch guide because i am building a deck for myself and i thought you might have something useful but i noticed you havent covered Macro, Gadget or Oppression Monarchs... You need to add them because they are key and probably the strongest builds. NYKid8295 18:40, January 23, 2010 (UTC)
I don't really know much about Gadget Monarchs. I suppose Oppression Monarchs uses recruiters like Mystic Tomato? Runer5h 19:15, January 23, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h
Gadget Monarchs pretty much just use Gadgets to search more Gadgets, keeping a healthy amount of hand advantage and readily available tribute fodder, also using common tribute fodder such as Treeborn. Most of them have "Ultimate Offering" to add for OTK potential. Once one of these OTK's are set in motion, they are very difficult to stop. DemonGodAsura 01:10, January 24, 2010 (UTC)
  • If you make the Monarch Guide, you probably should know about the most popular Monarch variants... Just google them and click on any TCGplayer/pojo results. You should get them just by looking at them... --Tantara (talk) 19:18, January 23, 2010 (UTC)

As long as we're discussing our work, I was wondering if I was missing anything in the Card Choices section, or any of the other sections that have information in them thus far.--Akiza Izayoi 19:29, January 23, 2010 (UTC)

Hey guys, this is me (NYKid). Sorry but i am at an internet cafe right now so yeah, i didnt log in. I can help out with the monarch guide and those variants if you want because i am am currently exploring them so i could do that for you if you like Runer. What do you think? I will try to get my infernity builds up but i have been busy so i havent had time and i have been dealing with requests on decks for free! as well. And while i am on the subject, what do you guys think would be the best monarch variant for me to try out? I think Gadget Oppression Monarchs would be nice but without Ultimate Offering and Royal Oppression the deck will fail before it gets the chance to do anything. I also like Macro Monarchs and they are probably the best variant for this meta but i cant choose between the two. Help. PLEASE!!!79.106.1.245 14:29, January 24, 2010 (UTC)

I've made a short Macro Monarchs section, with a link to the Macro page for more info. You can do Gadget Oppression Monarchs, as I'm not familiar with the archetype. Runer5h 17:16, January 24, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

Well, i think i can help out with Macro Monarchs as well because i looked at the section and its not great and i looked at the link and it was short and not the best. I can touch up both:) I can do it and you can change it if you dont like it. BTW, this is me (NYKid), I am in Computer class;)...lol. 80.78.77.78 12:26, January 25, 2010 (UTC)

  • If you have any suggestions, just leave them in the discussion subpages. We'll see what we can do about those tips. --Gadjiltron 12:39, January 25, 2010 (UTC)

Well, sorry if i said anything wrong. I meant Runer's section was too short and your's as ok excep maybe for the monarch suggestions which were ok but the thing is that i dislike the recommendation of Kuraz for two reasons: 1. Destroying your D.D. Survivors/Scout Planes isnt the best choice if you have them on the field because even though they come back, they do so at the end of the turn which will leave you out of tribute fodder unless you tribute Kuraz which might be good because after his effect is used he is only used as a beatstick so you can get a fresh monarch but i think that with Caius, Raiza and Mobius will be enough in one deck. I am already doing the Gadget Oppression variant in Runer's guide so if he gives me the approval i will just add some more stuff to his guide since he is doing monarchs which is where the deck is based even though it uses a D.D. engine. Your pretty much ok besides what i said about Kuraz but since i will add to the section in Runer's guide i will go more in depth so you dont have to worry much. NYKid8295 19:42, January 25, 2010 (UTC)

You can have my approval. Runer5h 21:08, January 25, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

Thanks a lot. I already did the Gaget Oppression Monarchs and all i have to do is give an example of the deck and explain some stuff and give a suggestion or two on the deck. I will do the macro monarchs soon, by the end of this week or by friday even, if i dont have too much homework:) Thanks for giving me a chance too:) NYKid8295 16:21, January 26, 2010 (UTC)

I fixed up your grammar and punctuation, and generally made the section flow better. Runer5h 20:05, January 26, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

Hey guys, I'll complete the Dark guides ASAP. Busy with school and band. I'll try to rush everything in 2 weeks time. And shall we do a mega-anti meta section ? Like compiled by all of us together. I suggested this quite sometime ago, and I think its high time that we take action. --Flushy 09:28, January 27, 2010 (UTC)

  • I want in on this. I've already covered Counter Fairies, and since I helped with the creation of the origional Rock STUN, I'd like to cover them. I could cover other things as well, I'm relatively experienced with most STUN builds, multiple Skill Drain variants, and a plethora of others. I like the idea of a group guide. --Tantara (talk) 00:59, January 28, 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, I forgot you helped create that archetype. Now don't forget to include Koa'ki Meiru Sandman. I've found Skill Drain variants to be a lot of fun... as are Macro Eatos decks. Runer5h 01:47, January 28, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h
  • Sandman, though it's still one of my most desired cards, hasn't been released into either the TCG or the OCG, so it shouldn't be included. I love Macro Eatos as well, simplicity is key, in anti-meta. I say that we start compiling a list of anti-meta builds to be included. So far, Counter Fairies, Macro Eatos, Chaos STUN, Rock STUN, ALICE (though it's impossible to use due to the limitation of Summoner Monk), Gadgets, Macro Monarch (maybe?), Wanghu Control, DARK Drain, LIGHT Zombies, Oppression Gadgets (falls under regular gadgets, perhaps?), Moja Drain, DARK Anti-Meta (the one that's ripping up the OCG, not sure if this'd go under the stall guide, here, or instant-win guide. This is a tricky one). Those are the one's I've thought up in a few seconds, anyone want to add? --Tantara (talk) 02:10, January 28, 2010 (UTC)
  • I'm not sure if Drain Plants would fall under this category...--Akiza Izayoi 02:21, January 28, 2010 (UTC)

... Alice? Runer5h 02:26, January 28, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

  • Plant Drain might fit in well. Runer: It's a brilliant anti-meta deck developed by an unknown duelist. It was quiet popular among the better TCGplayer duelists before summoner monk was limited. The point of the deck was to use a toolbox based around Summoner Monk. It would grab things like Snipe Hunter, Sacred Crane, etc. I recommend you google ALICE TCGplayer Pojo. You should find an example. --Tantara (talk) 02:43, January 28, 2010 (UTC)

I could just copy and paste my Plant Drain guide into the Anti-Meta guide... Since it covers both categories, it should be in both guides.--Akiza Izayoi 02:48, January 28, 2010 (UTC)

  • Just give a link to it. I'm going to do the same with the Counter Fairy Variant. --Tantara (talk) 02:52, January 28, 2010 (UTC)

All right then, i'll do that.--Akiza Izayoi 02:57, January 28, 2010 (UTC)

HOLY **** I CREATED THAT. http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/User:Runer5h#Summoner_Monk_Anti-Meta_Toolbox
I CREATED A DECK THAT CREATED AN ARCHETYPE. (I hope I hope I hope.) Runer5h 03:02, January 28, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h
  • Whoops, I described it wrong. Haha, It's a deck that uses Summoner Monk to gain gadgetlike advantage (Volcanic Rocket, Sacred Crane, Ra-Oh, etc.). The origional idea was netted from some online duelist. --Tantara (talk) 03:09, January 28, 2010 (UTC)
...FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
Eh, not a problem. I'm fine about not creating a whole archetype... (sob) You could actually use Gadgets - their effects actually activate when special summoned. I used it in my Gadget Machina deck (Machina Frontline+Gadgets=WIN) Runer5h 03:19, January 28, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

Erm, so sign up somewhere? So that we will not like have too many people making the same guide. --Flushy 13:42, January 28, 2010 (UTC)

  • Don't give up on me, guys. My Zombie Guide is still a Word document. But, I will try to get it done within a week. It is just that I have Decks for Free, Tournaments, regular life stuff... -bewk 06:00, February 5, 2010 (UTC)

  • Whoa! Hey guys! I haven't been on here forever... so much stuff I need to get done, like my Morphtronic Guide. Sorry I've been slacking off on that, but it always seems as if I don't have enough free time to get that sort of stuff done. I looked over it, and a lot of it looks like it needs a little updating... Also, I'm totally up for doing the Alien Guide again. I've created a whole new varient for them thats really kickass! Probably the most competitive Alien deck there is, too. Morphtronic OTK/FTK is shaping up rather nicely... not very consistent, but when it works, its fantastic. :P --Lifisali 04:59, February 16, 2010 (UTC)
  • BTW, I already just added Alien Guide next to my name up there. Since I know I'm the only person on this site worthy enough for the job, and Tantara knows this as a fact. ;3 --Lifisali 05:05, February 16, 2010 (UTC)

I haven't forgotten my guide, either. I'm currently in the midst of adding The Shining Darkness plants, and adding a few new varients.--Akiza Izayoi 20:42, February 17, 2010 (UTC)

Well, now that we've got ABPF, I might as well do the normal X guide. DemonGodAsura 20:43, February 17, 2010 (UTC)

  • Glad to see that Lifisali hasn't gone idle... How are you all doing? --Tantara (talk) 02:45, February 23, 2010 (UTC)
Let's just say I've had a full plate. Of course, I'd be happy to offer opinions on deck guides. Runer5h 02:46, February 23, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

Indeed, my plate is quite full as well. I'm slowly working on my guide though, and would be happy to offer opinions on anyone's guides.--Akiza Izayoi 02:58, February 23, 2010 (UTC)

Should I add Widespread Dud, Trap Stun and Dust Tornado to my GB guide? -bewk 17:36, February 23, 2010 (UTC)

Dud's actually a pretty good idea. Destroy it with your own Bestiari, or activate it before your monster tags out to destroy one of theirs. Runer5h 20:33, February 23, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h
  • Go for it, actually, this gives me an idea. Would anyone like to to take up a half-guide that would go over multiple under-the-radar, but notable cards such as Dud, Trap Dustshoot, Soul Release, etc.? Just an idea, but a list with good but little known pieces of tech could be helpful to starting duelists. It could just be a guide to side-decking or something. --Tantara (talk) 00:52, February 24, 2010 (UTC)
So basically a card guide? Well, Tips pages are for things like that, unless you want to go into extreme detail on how the card works, best time to use it, etc. DemonGodAsura 02:46, February 24, 2010 (UTC)

I actually think that the guides to Side Decking should be left on each individual guide... If a duelist is looking for a deck, they should only have to look at a single article, and not have to go to a different one for a Side Deck.--Akiza Izayoi 03:34, February 24, 2010 (UTC)

  • Akiza's right. It was a stupid idea. Oh, DGA, sorry about getting so angry at you on the IRC. We're cool, right? --Tantara (talk) 02:56, February 25, 2010 (UTC)
  • Well, I'm a bit sorry for slacking off on finishing my Morphtronic guide, and my excuse being the usual "I'm always so busy doing other things though!". Not like I'm totally unfocused on it. I noticed that what I've made so far on my Morphtronic guide is aimed mostly for Synchro based Morphtronic decks, which is what I'm most familiar with. So I've been spending some time studying the second best variant they have: Boarden OTK. Doing so will give me a wider knowledge base on the archtype, effectively giving my Morphtronic guide a bit more solidness to it as well, since it'll need to cover all the bases of course. :P I'm also trying to work on improving the finer points of the varient as well as I study it.

Also, the new Alien variant I'm developing is showing great potential. It can be really amazing in the way it can flip the duel around in the most dire situations. It's a extremely combo heavy deck in such a way that it's a bit inconsistent, but I'm working on improving it. I'm sure you're all dying to here the specifics, but I'd rather keep it hush-hush. I've posted info and proto deck lists on other minor sites, but other then that it isn't too widely and publicly known just yet. I prefer it that way anyways.

Now lets all cross our fingers and hope that Lifisali actually, FINALLY, gets around to working on said guides. Hopefully sometime soon. XD --Lifisali 07:14, February 25, 2010 (UTC)

  • Oh my goodness! I just read a bit of some of the recent stuff posted and noticed some stuff regarding Infernitys and a guide for them. I know the PERFECT guy for the job! You guys should see his deck(which will TOTALLY be Tier 1 as soon as The Shining Darkness gets released) in action. It's so godly you're eyes will bleed and you'll beg for... yeah, you get the idea. I highly doubt he'd take the offer though. He despises web sites like this, so yeah. So much for that. And I got so hyped up about it too...

EDIT: Well... actually, perhaps I really should ask him to consider it. Although I'm guessing the answer will no doubt be a solid "No.".--Lifisali 07:29, February 25, 2010 (UTC)

Well, at least give us a link to his deck, so we can see. Also, what's his name? Runer5h 18:34, February 25, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h
His name is Matthew, if that means anything to you. i_heart_necro on Gaia Online. Just type in Infernity in Gaia's search engine. infernity.dek or something like that is the title of his thread, I think. --Lifisali 20:21, February 25, 2010 (UTC)
Alright, found it... Interesting ideas. Double Summon as something to drain your hand is pretty ingenious. The main problem as I see it is a lack of defense - my deck uses 3 Waboku and 3 Necro Gardna (of course, I'll need different defense after next banlist), but it doesn't look like his deck would hold up to a serious counterattack (IE: Threatening Roar after he fills his field with Synchros, then something like, say, Lightning Vortex). Runer5h 20:55, February 25, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

I've used Double Summon before, it didn't come in too handy. It's decent in an opening hand, but other than that, dead draw.--Akiza Izayoi 23:41, February 25, 2010 (UTC)

Would anyone mind checking my Guide, for grammer errors, incorrect information, ect.? It's not finished yet, but I would like to know if I missed any cards.--Akiza Izayoi 23:24, February 28, 2010 (UTC)

I took the liberty of adding in Cactus Fighter and Cactus Bouncer. I hope you don't mind. Runer5h 23:38, February 28, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

I do not mind at all. Thanks.--Akiza Izayoi 00:17, March 1, 2010 (UTC)

  • @recent comments: I wouldn't be too judgemental. That deck is built to OTK very, very consisntently on the Infernity Player's second turn. Trishula spamming and what not, etc. You'd have to see it in action to believe it I guess. --Lifisali 01:25, March 5, 2010 (UTC)
  • Oh, right. The once and a while T-Rawr and so on, but they kinda shrug that off. Although I'm not sure my opinion is worth much, as I've only played aginst them twice. I was very impressed of what I saw though. --Lifisali 01:34, March 5, 2010 (UTC)
I've used Infernities. I know that they're fast. I know their secret - you don't empty your hand until the turn you go in for the KILL. But I think that his build could conceivably be faster and have more backup. Runer5h 02:44, March 5, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

  • Alright... I'm finally going to get some more work done on my guides. I've been sick for a few days, and having next to nothing to do, I guess I'll have to work on my guides. Finally. Lol. Looking at my morph guide, it needs a lot of fixing and doing over... and new stuff as well. --Lifisali 22:47, March 5, 2010 (UTC)

Phew

  • I thought that we needed a new chat outlet. @ Runer, I know I need to add Kristya. Both my Fairy guide and my Hopeless guides have been partially abandoned as school/sports/social life/decks for free! take up most of my time. Runer, if you'd like to add it yourself, feel free. Otherwise, it may not be till my spring break that I can catch up. And wingggys, I took you off as you were totally inactive. Both here and on this sight. If you're interested in doing the guide, feel free to add yourself back up as a guidemaker. --Tantara (talk) 00:27, March 6, 2010 (UTC)
  • I've done a bit of my Morphtronic guide. I decided to cut the whole card list for them, as that seemed a bit more opinion based anyways, and filler. The section for Morphtronic Synchro OTK is more or less complete. I might be adding a bit more to it, but it's generally complete, as I think I've covered the major parts of that variant: the win condition and how the OTK he done, and suggestions for side deck options for the current format. Not much else to say, other then various tid bits of info. Competitive wise, Boardan and the Clocken OTK decks are rather insignificant. Boarden OTK requires far too much set-up and is slow in general. The Clocken OTK deck is more or less just Boarden OTK with Morphtronic Clocken splashed in. So maybe I should focus it more towards the Morphtronic Synchro OTK deck? Since it is the most important and competitive out of the three. --Lifisali 01:13, March 6, 2010 (UTC)
  • BTW, it's only a FTK if my opponent takes the first turn, so I dropped that from the deck name. Just saying. --Lifisali 01:23, March 6, 2010 (UTC)

@Tantara+ all Guides Look at my Gravekeeper and Gemini deck and see if i am fit for being those guides. If so i will start on the Guide Asap Plus i was inactive cause i quit and i came back cause you always gotta come back to yugioh sometime in your life Wings of Darkness Unite! 02:47, March 6, 2010 (UTC)

  • Added "reasons for certain odd cards(why and why not they're used)" to the Morphtronic Synchro OTK section of my Morphtronic guide. Mostly too say why certain, usually questionable by most, should be used or not used. Specifically to explain why Morphtronic Cameran is so good, why Videon is sub-par, and why you don't need more stat boost equips other then United We Stand and Double Tool C&D. I'll probably add in a tid bit for Boarden, as he doesn't see to much use in a MSOTK deck. I'll highlight his usefulness though. --Lifisali 20:27, March 6, 2010 (UTC)
  • Well, I've got Pure-X up now, though it's not very exciting. Pure-X is very bland and straightforward. DemonGodAsura 16:56, March 7, 2010 (UTC)
Umm, DGA, Emmersblade is boss. It adds a whole lot of consistency to the deck, makes Faultroll more playable and makes Hyunlei actually usable, and maintains a monster for Saber Hole to do its job. Stalling by summoning Fulhelmknight for an attack blocker, summoning Rags to get your monster back from the grave... it's one of the key cards of the X-Saber deck that just won 3rd place at Shonen Jump Nashville. See here for that deck, you might get some ideas. Runer5h 17:14, March 7, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h
Ah, ok, I'll add it. DemonGodAsura 17:24, March 7, 2010 (UTC)

Blackwingggy's was admitted to do the Blackwing guide. I don't think h knows Gravekeeper's enough to do them. --Tantara (talk) 03:16, March 10, 2010 (UTC)
  • Recently bought the new 2010 game for the DS. I call dibs on Jurracs, Naturias and Fables! >:U Oh, and Dragunitys too. --Lifisali 04:59, March 20, 2010 (UTC)
Now then, I see no reason for you to call 4 at a time, not to mention that Runer has quite a bit of Dragunity experience. DemonGodAsura 05:01, March 20, 2010 (UTC)
And Juraccs. Most of the info on the Jurrac archetype page was put there by yours truly. I've got a pretty good idea of their strengths and weaknesses. Of course, my Dragunity deck didn't include cards from DT08, or quite a few from DT07. It was more synchro-oriented (though nailing your opponent's monster for free courtesy of Legionnaire is always fun) using Dragunity - Dux and Dragunity - Legion to get easy 5, 6, and 8 synchros in tandem with Phalanx. (To get to 8, synchro summon Dragunity Knight - Vajuranda and equip Phalanx, special summon it, and synchro for level 8.) Runer5h 05:06, March 20, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h
Argh, copy protection got the better of my copy of the game. --Gadjiltron 10:41, March 24, 2010 (UTC)
  • Aww. Fine. I still get Naturias and Fables then. >:U Mine! --Lifisali 05:36, March 24, 2010 (UTC)
  • I updated the Blackwing Deck Guide deck guide for the March 2010 list, and made some minor changes here and there. I added cards for side decking, but haven't done the discussion yet. I think I'll have some free time this weekend, but can't promise anything =\. Feel free to comment. I'll be looking through the rest of these guides more thoroughly, so that I can do my part in making suggestions. The more comments we make on each others' guides, the better guides we'll have =P. --Sub (Talk | Contribs) 03:23, March 25, 2010 (UTC)
  • Yeah, I need comments on mine. Could you guys read over what I have so far for my Morphtronic guide? I mean the Morphtronic Synchro OTK section(aka Morphtronic Sync'n'Equip). What seems to be missing? What could be further explained? What topics need more covering? Etc. I'm sure there is a lot of stuff it needs more of, but I need your guys's opinions on the matter. --Lifisali 05:41, March 26, 2010 (UTC)

I have added many new cards to my GB guide, and have refined the text. Check it out and tell me if you see anything wrong with it. Also, for about a month, I put a poll at the end of the guide, asking readers if they were satisied with it. 12 replied, and they all answered "yes". -bewk 21:04, March 26, 2010 (UTC)

  • I'm going on a long vacation. Good-bye. --Lifisali 02:14, March 27, 2010 (UTC)

I say sure. -bewk 21:10, April 12, 2010 (UTC)

I've talked with him, and he seems like a smart guy. I say welcome aboard. Runer5h 19:37, April 26, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h
  • Hey guys. I havent had time to be on the wikia or work on my guide at all. I still need to fix up Runer's guide as well. I was hoping to drop Cloudians and work on Fortune Ladies instead. They are a very interesting archetype and i know a lot about them seeing as i took it as my Decks for Free! trial and did a lot of research. Tantara can attest to the caliber of my build. I just wanted to check with you guys and what you thought. I promise i will start working on all of that as soon as my schedule clears up. Hope you all have been well =) NYKid8295 16:34, April 26, 2010 (UTC)

Don't sweat it, we're all busy. Like Tantara keeps teling us, this is a long term project.--Akiza Izayoi 20:38, April 27, 2010 (UTC)

  • Yeah, I know =) I was hoping to get your guys' approval on me taking the Fortune Lady deck guide. What do you guys think? NYKid8295 14:39, April 29, 2010 (UTC)
No objection here. Runer5h 19:38, April 29, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h
Thumbs up as well. -bewk 20:49, April 29, 2010 (UTC)
Sure, I'm fine with that. DemonGodAsura 21:52, April 30, 2010 (UTC)
  • Ok, X-Saber Deck Guide is up to date for post-TSHD. I even added the first milestone of X-Sabers. Have a look. DemonGodAsura 21:52, April 30, 2010 (UTC)
  • I started the guide yesterday and I'm almost finished with the card lineup so im about halfway there already. This is the link: Forum:Deck Guide/Fortune Ladies Check it out and tell me what y'all think so far. Do you have any suggestions for other monsters that you can include in the deck. I included the main ones you can use but Fortune Ladies are so splashable, you can put the engine into any deck that can support it. If you have any suggestions for the overall guide, put them on the discussion page so i can check em out and edit accordingly. NYKid8295 10:12, May 2, 2010 (UTC)

Why is my Mill Guide being harrassed by spam? That's the 4th time in a row since I last touched it. (Thanks, for those who reverted it each time) Maybe we should lock the Deck Guides, though leaving their respective discussion pages free to all. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 03:53, November 5, 2010 (UTC)

Surprise!

It's me, Lifisali, and I'm back better then ever! Wow, that was an amazing vacation.

To start things off, I pulled a little something on Tantara the other day: I went under another username, Envoy of Love and Justice, and did a little experiment. Sure enough I got the results I exactly wanted. Hehe.

My Morphtronic Guide is going along smoothly. I'm spending a lot of time and effort into making it the best Morphtronic guide ever.

Also, I think this topic needed a little BUMP anyways besides me giving ya'll an update on what's happenin' woth moi. o3o --Lifisali 02:03, May 16, 2010 (UTC)

He~h. It's been a while since I last worked, hasn't it? Well, if you guys don't mind, I'll pick up the Cyber Style Deck. --Gadjiltron 07:47, May 16, 2010 (UTC)

  • Lol, you got me Lifisali. Glad to see this is going strong, I'll be finishing/updating/taking a new guide over the coming summer. Again, glad to see that this project keeps going. --Tantara (talk) 15:46, May 16, 2010 (UTC)

Cyber Style Deck Guide is complete. Check it out here. I've also included Cyberdarks in it because they're also part of the Cyber Style in a sense. --Gadjiltron 10:15, May 17, 2010 (UTC)

I'm sorry, but... my heart has been ripped out. It's gone and ripped to shreds. I'm so sorry...I'm...gone..., everything, it's all gone. Ripped to shreds... --Lifisali 03:07, May 19, 2010 (UTC)

Someone please help me! The bleeding won't stop. They took it away from me, ripped and torn, my soul... I can't stand the pain. Dear god, someone save me, someone hear my cry. -- Lifisali

Query: Where does it hurt? --Gadjiltron 12:01, May 21, 2010 (UTC)
  • Gadjiltron, i looked over the cyber style guide and i'll have to say you did a great job on it. I only noticed one flaw. And that is that the light machine summoned by trigon must be level 4 our lower. The way you had it worded sounded as if you could special summon cyber dragon or cyber end from the grave with it hahaha. Anyway, i hope i'm allowed to comment here already o-o TwosidedDragon 01:49, June 5, 2010 (UTC)
    • Oh, and if i have already been accepted into this, i would like to take on the alien guide. I heard Lifisali dropped it. If that is true, i would like to do them. I have some fair experience with them and they are absolutely my favorite decktype. TwosidedDragon 01:53, June 5, 2010 (UTC)
    • Thanks for notifying me. The error has been rectified. --Gadjiltron

So...

Anyone have any progress? --Tantara (talk) 13:11, July 26, 2010 (UTC)

Haven't moved since my last guide. Year-end examinations are approaching and work's piling up, etc. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 13:50, July 26, 2010 (UTC)

I've been making some minute edits on my Plant Guide, and I think it's slowly but surely coming along.--Akiza Izayoi (talkcontribs) 15:37, July 26, 2010 (UTC)

  • I've nearly completed work for the new Lightsworns, and Twilight (I work on my computer first, then post it when ready - that minimizes edits). Expect it to be posted within the week. --Darth Covah (Talk | DeckZone | Binder) 18:56, July 26, 2010 (UTC)

I think i might have added a little too much of my personal opinion, but other than that i believe it's good =D TwosidedDragon~ 06:10, July 31, 2010 (UTC)

Hmm, I've noticed the increased prominence of Rock Stun Decks. Knowing that they use Rock monsters along with a fair bit of Koa'ki monsters and support, would Rock Stun fall under Rock, Koa'ki Meiru, or Anti-Meta? --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 09:48, August 16, 2010 (UTC)

Although Koa'ki Meiru is a key part of rock stun, i really think it deserves it's own deck guide... as (the variants i've seen at least) are quite different from Koa'ki meiru decks. But otherwise, it would probably fall under anti-meta. TwosidedDragon~ 13:20, August 16, 2010 (UTC)

Definitely anti-meta. There are too many non-Koa'ki Meiru monsters for it to be under Koa'ki Meiru, and Rock should mostly cover defense decks, which is a shame, but, all the same, its what should be done. Battlemaniac (talkcontribs) 11:27, August 19, 2010 (UTC)

  • Umm, Battlemaniac, who are you? Please note that you have to be invited to post here... And a person called Drew-Gi-Oh wants to join us. He'd like to do the Non-Hopeless Dragon guides, the Volcanic Guide, the Gemini Guide, the Exodia Guide, and the VWXYZ guide. --Tantara (talk) 23:32, August 25, 2010 (UTC)
  • I am in favor of Drew-Gi-Oh joining. I would like to take the non-hopeless dragon guide though. TwosidedDragon~ 20:46, September 15, 2010 (UTC)
By the way, I've decided that I want to do another deck guide. It's a toss-up between my two favorites - Scraps and Dragunities. Suggestions? Runer5h (talkcontribs) 23:24, September 15, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h
  • Runer. Do Dragunity's. Please. :) oh and I'm not in favor of Drew-Gi-Oh... I've dealt with him on Decks for Free!, I gave him a trial deck and... well, he seemed to be missing a few crucial deckbuilding concepts.--Tantara (talk) 01:03, September 16, 2010 (UTC)
I agree with Tantara. -bewk 01:34, September 16, 2010 (UTC)

OK! The people (two of them, to be precise) have decided. I'll get cracking on a Dragunity deck guide. Runer5h (talkcontribs) 19:48, September 16, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

ExCUSE me. Could someone please comment on my guide? Runer5h (talkcontribs) 22:33, October 1, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

Hello, it's nice to see this is still going.

Due to some real life... difficulties, I had to leave. I apologize for my long absence. Also, disappointed about the Alien Guide. It's rather poorly done. I might make time in my busy schedule to make a more proper one. The current one contains some... less then satisfactory logic, and misleading information. Again, my apologies for disappearing like that. --Lifisali (talkcontribs) 00:43, October 3, 2010 (UTC)

  • I've decided to leave wikia. I no longer have the time to do what I have joined for. I knew i would eventually have to move on from this game. Now is the time I suppose. I never was quite good at it anyway. Farewell to you all ;] User:TwosidedDragon

I still think that wink is suspicious. --Lifisali (talkcontribs) 03:40, October 3, 2010 (UTC)

I've actually decided that I may return in the future (only if i'm still interested at that point), so I won't delete my account. And Lifisali, it's has nothing to do with you. I'm not like that. I've just honestly lost interest in this game. TwosidedDragon~ 17:59, October 3, 2010 (UTC)`

  • Gah! TSD... be back soon ;) --Tantara (talk) 23:30, October 4, 2010 (UTC)

Updates

I've updated the "X-Saber" guide for the new format. I can't believe it took me this long to get to it. Runer, I'll have a comment on your guide soon, like within the next couple days. I'll be reading it tonight, then rereading it later. DemonGodAsura 08:06, October 3, 2010 (UTC)

Been a long while since I took up a guide. Alright, I'll do the Spirit one. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 05:38, October 8, 2010 (UTC)

Spirit Guide is complete, though feel free to give suggestions on what I missed out. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 09:36, October 13, 2010 (UTC)

Where'd everyone go for over a month? Seems like I'm the only one here who's actually doing anything lately. Getting started on the Gravekeeper's guide. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 14:47, December 14, 2010 (UTC)

Is it because of the template, that the deck guides themselves, never get archived? --Dark Ace SP™ (Talk) 03:31, July 8, 2011 (UTC)

Archived?BobaFett2 (talk)

Yeah, you know how forum entrys get unedited and then are considered archived. Like this one => Forum:The Seal of Orichalcos --Dark Ace SP™ (Talk) 12:34, July 8, 2011 (UTC)
I suppose it's a flaw in the archiving mechanic. Surprisingly, just giving a slight tweak to one of the Deck Guides under this thread will result in the thread being considered "edited", and removing its "archived" status. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 02:11, July 9, 2011 (UTC)

Commencing work on the Gadget guide. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 02:17, July 9, 2011 (UTC)

I figure since Boba keeps asking me for advice, I might as well join as a guide writer, and there doesn't seem to be much of a team to say that I can't. Since it looks like just the two of you, if neither of you objects I'll start off with a Mist Valley Guide. It's a deck I'm very familiar with, seeing as it's my Main Deck. Lappyzard (talkcontribs) 17:21, July 17, 2011 (UTC)

Well then, welcome to the team. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 23:30, July 22, 2011 (UTC)

Anyone else feel like there should also be a General Guide? Basically, tips for building any type of deck, like: run decks at 40 cards, focus on a central theme, traps to avoid falling into, in-depth discussions of card advantage, situational cards, and usability. If anyone else feels that this would be a good idea, I'll start on it. Lappyzard (talkcontribs) 00:09, July 23, 2011 (UTC)

Sounds like a good idea.BobaFett2 (talk)

Alright, first draft is done. User:Lappyzard/General Deck Guide Draft. Check it out and let me know what you think. Lappyzard (talkcontribs) 19:11, July 23, 2011 (UTC)

General Guide completed and posted. I'm still open to suggestions for it though. Lappyzard (talkcontribs) 20:12, July 28, 2011 (UTC)

  • I'm a little iffy on the tip to avoid Magic Cylinder. Yes, it's card-for-LP advantage which is largely undesirable, but sometimes this immense damage is welcome if it finishes games. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 07:51, July 29, 2011 (UTC)
So can Wave-Motion Cannon. That doesn't make it good.BobaFett2 (talk)

Updates

The following need updated
  • Blackwings 2 formats behind
  • Koa'ki Meiru ...isn't well written
  • Fairys need Agents or at least a link to 'the agent' as i looked under 'a' for it :3
  • Crystal beasts need Phantom Horn build,
  • Glads 2 formats behind & need GLabbits
  • Exodia needs Truce
  • Lightsworn...... needs made
  • Normal needs more Rabbit
  • Spirit need more Ho-o
  • Monarch needs more Ho-o
  • Psychic needs less mind master
  • Chaos needs slight update for banlist
Just some notes
-Resk ()() 14:48, October 14, 2011 (UTC)
Unfortunately, most of the Deck Builders have left. I'll update Psychics and Chaos (I thought I had modified it already). Gladiator Rabbits are dumb and not any good-HERO Gladiators are far superior and so are standard Gladiators. As for the other ones, should we ask permission to edit them? A third of the original guide writers have left wiki. Most are still here tough. ---Dark Ace SP™ (Talk) 16:00, November 5, 2011 (UTC)
Could I possibly have permission to redo your main page? Its really cluttered up. And I could do what we did on WDC. ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 19:22, November 13, 2011 (UTC)
Saying your ok with me changing the look of the page. Could you also tell me what guides need improvements? Unless Resk listed all of them, or which you have already updated. ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 20:37, November 13, 2011 (UTC)
Go ahead. Why did you remove the poll from the Blackwing Guide? I was thinking we could have a poll on every guide in order to see how helpful they were. Basically, every guide not written by me or Lappyzard is from earlier formats and needs updating (Lappy's might, I don't remember, but he can update those himself). To update a guide, make a page [[Forum:Deck Guide/DECKTYPE/1]] BF2 Talk Deck Guides 20:47, November 13, 2011 (UTC)

Do you want it in a template box by itself or I can make the wording on the section bright as well. ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 01:35, November 15, 2011 (UTC)
Or name it under a section labeled General Advice? ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 01:36, November 15, 2011 (UTC)

"Spirit needs more Houoh"? Is it really that good, seeing that it only picks off set S/Ts? --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 03:27, November 19, 2011 (UTC)

Well, given the other Spirit Monsters out there, yes, I'd say it's pretty damn good for a Spirit. Lappyzard (talkcontribs) 05:55, November 27, 2011 (UTC)

Seeing as the Deck Guides section has "(out of date)" next to guides that are out of date, should we replace the that with "(has updated version)" for the guides that actually have an updated version? ---Dark Ace SP (Talk) 22:58, November 22, 2011 (UTC)

Eh, sure, why not. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 04:06, November 27, 2011 (UTC)
