Can I use Miracle Dig to return removed-from-play mosters to my graveyard while Macro Cosmos is face-up on the field? If not, what is the easiest was to special summon an Envoy while Macro Cosmos is in play (assuming I have no monsters in my graveyard)?

oh wait xD does that mean I cannot use Miracle Dig to place cards in my graveyard that did not originate in my graveyard? my plan was something like this: if I happen to have Macro Cosmos on the field, and no monsters in my graveyard yet (or no lights and darks) and a few turns later, after some lights and darks have been rerouted out-of-play by Macro Cosmos (without ever hitting the graveyard) I draw an Envoy, I use Miracle Dig to place some lights and darks directly into my graveyard.

since the card says "returns," does that mean that the cards must have originated in the graveyard?

  • No, it still works, somehow. It's like how you can return a card to your Hand, even if the card was never in your Hand. --Deus Ex Machina (Talk) 22:53, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

okay, thanks :) well I came up with a non-obvious question for once xD sweet :D

Well "send" isn't the same as "return". My doubts were correct then. "Deus Ex Machina" thanks again.
"Specter" your trick should work then. You can return light and dark monsters to the graveyard, with Miracle Dig, and summon the Envoys while Macro Cosmos is in play.

thanks guys :D I needed a few extra brains to help me with my strategy. and yours are the best I know when it comes to cards conflicting. I think if my idea didn't work, I probably would have just ditched the Envoys altogether. Envoys and Macro Cosmos just don't mesh well.
