Since I haven't seen any fish decks around, and now that The Duelist Genesis came out with a few fish cards, I've decided to make be one of the few to make one =P. The following is a list of my cards, help on what to replace/add/remove would be appreciated.

  • put my deck into a drastic change, now all i need is to get draw power, ideas anyone?
  • another issue is having too many cards in my monster zone that cant do anything, does anyone know how an ice master would run in my deck? (i can easily get the fodder, to clear one one spot for my flying fish once i draw it).
  • trying to run synchros (found out with legendary ocean, krebon+2 fishes makes one stardust, or red dragon archefiend. So I'm trying to see if i can take cards out for a few tuners (its not going to be too synchro based, just built so that if i have the chance, all i need is a tuner to sync.

hey dude, nice fish deck i love original theme decks

yeah, thats about it, jk. well i am also building a coelacanth based deck called coelacanth monarch deck and i would go a little more aggro... i would might add one more teeroking salmon and a few ,moarchs because the fishes summoned ny coelacanth couldnt atk nor have its effect anyway. so they could be tributed. take out area B it doesnt work i dont think it helps. maybe add another warior of atlantis an replace space mambo with cards like abyssal king shark. beatstick and if u draw them first hand maybe also add spirit reaper and marsh to stall until u get the coelaccanrh out . or try a burn variant with dna transplant if i rmb correctly with prestess ohm

hoped i helped, and ill try to improve my user page Jetronix 09:58, 29 August 2008 (UTC)
  • thanks, but i use my summoned fish to tribute for golden flying fish =P. i want an abyssal king shark...but its so hard to find D=...i was thinking of making a coelacanth monarch before, but monarchs became dead draws for me half the time =/. I guess area B could be taken out, only used for stalling XD. DNA transplant would be deadly...then i could use giga gagagigo instead of terror king and more warriors of atlantis XD. Thanks for your help =).

A Fish Deck you say?

I have a real love for water monster and have kept an eye on the new fish theme. If you really want to try more of a fish then water theme you should take out A Legendary Ocean. Taking out that will free up a lot of space, and instead of ocean you can use Cyber Shark you quick high attack fishes =P 3 Abyssal Kingsharks are a must for all water decks. I got 3 in mine, not too hard to get just a little pricy. You also might want to try the Ocean's Keeper set. Even if you do use all 3, Cranium Fish is another must. Well good luck with your fish deck, hope it turns out good Bio 00:51, 30 August 2008 (UTC)

+... Bio's help was...amazing... anyways, add at least one more Warrior of Atlantis, I'd go with two to help out summoning high attack cards like Terrorking Salmon. --Tantara 02:44, 30 August 2008 (UTC)

  • thanks. but is there an easier way to get coelacanth out? the way it seems, it'l take 2 tributes to get the trumph card out, and cyber shark doesnt seem that great (much like cyber dragon, but with a requisite. i want to run more abyssals instead of space mambos...but they're so dam pricy (like 20 each X__x). with regard to cranium fish, is it possible to run it w/o using the ocean keeper's set (i want to base it more as a coelacanth deck rather than an ocean keeper deck)? Dragonmaster69 02:12, 31 August 2008 (UTC)

thanks

This is the part where ...

  • You take out 2 Metal Reflect Slimes
  • You take out 1 Tornado Wall
  • You take out Submarineroid
  • You add in 2 Salvage (1 pot of av isn't enough)

That will take out the interfering "goo" in your deck, by a tad. Chris427 18:20, 30 August 2008 (UTC)

  • i dont have a target for salvage though...o_O...cept crystal seer and penguin soldier...i dont believe those 2 cards salvaged will help much in the later stages of a duel (not to mention the chances of sending them there o-O...although i dont disagree with submarineroid being taken out (1 less salvagable monster?).
    • just aquired ice master to use (16 water types fodderable), draw power still sucks in this deck >.>...field control is almost absolute with the king fish on the field, but the hand control is none. Should i run ice master? (sorry, im dragonmaster69, but im not logged in >.>) 75.157.19.139 07:46, 25 September 2008 (UTC)

  • Cranium Fish can still be tribute summoned like normal, just can use Ocean’s keeper to special summon. As for your big fishy, you may want to use Aqua Spirit. It may not be a fish, but can easily be used for tributes. Bio 03:00, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
  • i've tried my deck at a hobby league, i did fine (6-6 duels, 2-3 matches), however, the thing that bugged me was having no hand control whatsoever. Does anyone know what i can run to increase draw power? i'm thinking of running common charity, but it would mean having one of either my 7 coloured fishes or mambos in my hand, which usually end up in the graveyard later on in the duel anyway.
thanks Dragonmaster69 07:37, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

hand power?

  • Change your fishes to suit Salvage. Otherwise you'd be wasting a good card. Water decks naturally are weak at hand advantage, so their only choice is to inflict it on their enemy as well. Look up Spiritual Water Art - Aoi, Trap Dustshoot, and Mind Crush. Chris427 00:59, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
  • my deck is made to special summon fish from my deck, not normal summon from my hand (and i've looked up the fish cards 1500 atk or less, and the only worthy ones are Cure Mermaid and Ocean's Keeper. Cure mermaids effect would be useless, but ocean keeper's graveyard effect can be used...overall, unless there are some cards that were released that i dont know of, i dont see the point of trying to run salvage (remember, this is a fish deck, not a water), but i like the idea of aoi (kind of like a fish depth charge a +1 hand advantage as opposed to field).Dragonmaster69 03:03, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

You might want to take out a Warrior of Atlantis and replace it with A Legendary Ocean I see how it could be a good thing to send warrior to the grave (Coelecanth), but it's still kind of stupid, you can replace Warrior with a better card...--Tantara 01:39, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

  • XD, wasnt it you that suggested putting another atlantis in? *stares* well..i can summon my fish in 1 turn sometimes (discard atlantis, get ocean, remove atlantis, summon aqua spirit, tribute for coelacanth), but it burns my hand through almost instantly. i'm open to any replacement for atlantis =/...looking for one, still looking X__X Dragonmaster69 03:03, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
  • Yah, Water Decks main flaw is that they have no draw cards, maybe more seers? Common Charity isn‘t really worth it probably. I would say to keep with 3 Atlantis and maybe add 3rd Ocean. Besides that only thing I could think of is maybe changing amounts of certain cards (maybe more penguin soldier?, he is very fun XD) and adding me a couple book of moon. Also Cranium and Abyssal of Course. Water FTW Bio 06:30, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
  • thanks bio, tan, and chris for helping out. Bio and Tan, what do u think of chris' idea of ruining my opponents hand as well to match mine? since i can easily get an oyster meister onto the field, and if i tribute him, i still get a token anyway (not like 1600 atk is gonna kill much anyway). i used to run 2 penguin soldiers, but they were only for annoying my opponent (didn't help much...lol), book of moon, used for offense (penguin's flip used again?) or defence (like econ)?
  • what do u guys think of running more macrotremas so i can tribute him with my effect, and boost my other fishes up by 500 (so they survive for their purpose, not get killed in battle).

Dragonmaster69 07:24, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

hello again

hey, well im back and i dont know if i could help much but im gonna share my idea that ive been creating and kept as secret for so long. i know that fishes don't have much draw power, but anyways, how bout u try a fish synchro deck? i think its gonna be nice. see, oyster leaves u with two tokens when it is destroyed (i dont know if that includes when its sent to GY or not. but u get a whole school of fisheys to synchro out. then it would thin out ur deck. and pot of av is very needed in this deck since the mons would be depleted out pretty quickly. Jetronix 11:04, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

hey, yea, i was looking into that today after the tourney. After losing 2-1 to a lightsworn deck (the decks coming along >=D), someone suggested a fish synchro deck. The only problem is there are no tuner fishes, no synchro fishes (i can still summon other synchros though), and the maximum level for a synchro would be 6-7 (depending on my fish summons). I would run a few tuners + synchros in my deck, however, it would require putting in even more monsters (might slow me down even further), and the only level 6-7 synchro im interested in putting in is *Goyo Guardian, but its $30, hard to find, and i would prefer using a stardust (too many levels though >.>)...

but what you said about oyster meister is right (he's become my best summon with coelacanth), you get a token when its sent to the graveyard (its a graveyard effect, so it still works with coelacanth, since coelacanth only negates while its on the field). Thanks for the idea, i'll put it to use once and if they release fish tuners =P. Dragonmaster69 02:26, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

  • Isn’t Goyo suppose to be in the Exclusive Tins? That will make him easier to get anyway. Also water arts is good, I always tend to run out of monster with it though. But with oyster it may be a very good thing, I would be good to add in a few. A second deepsea may help, not sure. I never really used him but could be a nice combo with water arts. As for tuners, not sure what would be best. I remember in japan’s duel terminal thing there was some water ones, for get if any were fish... Well good luck with deck Bio 03:28, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
  • Goyo Guardian comes in the duelist genesis, and the only cards of use from the terminal were synchros, not tuners D=...thanks for trying anyway. Can u keep me up-to-date on any good new fish cards? =P, thanks. Dragonmaster69 04:44, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
  • Goyo is in TDGS and in Tin supposedly. Also one of the Duel Terminal is a Water Tuner, Practitioner of the Ice Boundary, Which is not really that great of tuner. I was bored so I tried to fix up deck a bit and came up with this. It is still rather rough of a deck list and I didn’t add in Solemns since you seem to be fine with out them already. I oddly chose a fire tuner for a water based deck lol. It is level 2 so you can easily use it to bring out Goyo Guardian and even Magical Android. If you manage to get a level 4, Deepsea, and it you can get out Nitro Warrior and draw a card =P You might need to get some cards still, but I think this will work better. Hope you like it!

Bio 06:59, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

That looks like quite a powerful deck...except...i cant summon anything lk stardust w/o using cranium fish as a tribute D=, and since i'm probably running ocean at the same time, my 4 stars turn into 3 stars, so id have to use 3 star tuners D=...although stardust+coelacanth=invincible...well...i dont think this is going to be easy to play, and i'm having second thoughts about cranium fish (i already have bad hand control), and abyssal (his effect is negated and he has less attack than 7 coloured. btw, by taking out 1 body as a shield and putting in book of moons instead, do u think it would work better for defence against cards that would destroy coelacanth, specifically, m-force and l-vortex? (only fear here is if he tries to destroy it in facedown (2200 def, effect doesnt work))...and if a metal reflect slime is changed into a aoi, it seems to be okay, only fear i have is i need coelacanth out before almost ANY of my combos work, so i'd need a faster way to drag him out before getting raped (hmm..coelacanth for synchro would work, only i'd lose my trumph card XD). any ideas to make the deck more stable? Dragonmaster69 23:02, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

  • OMG, I can’t believe I forgot about ocean for synchro part >.< Maybe you should just try to speed up main strategy first, then decide on synchro. “i'd need a faster way to drag him out” well why didn’t you say so sooner? I got a very simple card to use, Deep Diver! Add in 3 of these and first hand you should get a Deep Diver or Coelacanth near every time (6 of a card is good like that =p). This card works with salvage and it very useful for getting monsters when you need them. Also I would still say go abyssal, since he is immune to mirror force, smashing ground, torrential tribute, fissure, lightning vortex, and much more lol. It is better to have effect over few extra attack most of the time (even if effect won‘t work if you summon with coelacanth). Also Book of Moon has many uses, most for use on opponent. I am working on updating build to be bit better and more of a turbo. There, I updated deck above now. It is made to quickly get Coelacanth, Destroy opponents Spells and Traps, and Flood them with fish for a swift win. First Turn set Deep Diver (and any Spell and Trap removal like Dust Tornado), next turn you should get Coelacanth and hopefully have Aqua Spirit and A Legendary Ocean. Then destroy there spell and trap, activate ocean, summon aqua, tribute for coelacanth, discard to get fish, attack for game =P At least that ho it is suppose to work in theory lol. Bio 02:28, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
  • ASDHJOENHWGOW RAR~! SUCH AN EASY CARD TO USE! AND I DIDNT KNOW ABOUT IT! you sir, are a genius! that decks looking very deadly, but i think 6 cards is too much for him, mayb 1-2 (since it counts as 1 draw). imo, theres not enough fish to summon now (9 of them, 3 are good to use their effects (oyster), the other 2 fishes should be regular summoned. I'm not too worried about destroying traps/spells (coelacanth can tank most with fishes, and i can body as a shield). now with metal reflect slime+aqua spirit, coelacanth is very easy to summon, if i have him in my hand...=P. but deep sea diver...dayum, finally, something with draw/deck search power. Dragonmaster69 03:08, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
  • I’ll keep working at deck some more. I will probably downgrade on dust tornado and add in more means to special summon monsters and more fish. I’ll try to get another updated to you soon. Bio 11:44, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
  • thanks, but i dont think deep diver is going to work too well (i tried proxying it, but it weakened my draw power too greatly).Anyway, ive updated my deck a bit, but now im not sure if i should run destruction jammer or my body as a shield.
  • I would say to use body, since you can use it during turn you draw it while jammer needs to be on field one turn. Also jammer needs a discard, which you already do enough of. Only other way I can currently think of to get Coelacanth would be Gold Sarcophagus, but that is near impossible to get currently lol. Fish actually got it rather easier compared to normal water decks for hand, since they don’t have anything like depth charge lol. Well I will keep trying to think of something. Bio 23:00, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

synchrooooo?

  • Different Dimension Capsule? lol, since i DO have 3 coelacanths in my deck, i could just put 3 in (no need to replace anything since this card will help me pull it, and if one is destroyed, my deck has like 3 of most of my important cards xD). if i do that, mayb i'l put in 3-4 tuners and stardust/goyo, since i'l have some search power. Do u think krebon can be used as a tanker? like a marshmellon or spirit reaper with cost? that'l put my deck to 46 cards, 3 search engines though. so realistically, 43 cardsish.
  • DDC has one huge flaw which is why I didn’t suggest it. It says one field until you get card, so if it gets destroyed card gets stuck removed from play. There is a pretty good chance in 2 turns you opponent can destroy it too. Krebon’s cost can quickly become a lot, Use it 10 times and your dead. Also remember ocean downgrades levels by 1, so a level 3 tuner would work best. I would suggest Psychic Commander or Dark Resonator. Commander can easily boost its attack to high amounts, which is a great trick when used right. Resonator won’t be destroyed, so is good for defensive. Now main problem now would be some monsters won’t be effected by ocean and others would. Golden Fly Fish is light so it would be effected and stay 4. Oyster once again become a key card letting you get stardust and other level 8s with ease (Aqua spirit, psychic commander, and Oyster=8) and if ocean isn’t on the field it can be used for Goyo. You may want to add in more Ocean and Atlantis now, I still plan on making a new build. Bio 22:07, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
  • tried running it against my friend's zombie deck (which he put in all sorts of counters just for my deck), the matches were so dam long...stardust got swapped, had 2 fishes, and i knew he had a mforce face down >.>, and i alrdy used up my 2 body as shields...>.>...anyway, the decks kinda slow, but powerful, and ddc can actually help me thin out my deck (i just pull something useless half the time, or play around with aqua spirits and coelacanths since ihave many copies and they put pressure). as for krebons, they just annoyed the crap out of him lol, although i didnt synch. much...him and his dam creature swap...>.>...

anyway, syncing is quite easy (fish+oyster+krebon, or fish+fish+krebon). Golden isnt so useful for syncing =/...i might put in some e.teleporters for search power (good idea?)
