Forum:Flawed Strategy or Something, I don't know

This is my Justice Twins Deck, it is based on Elemental Heroes and Gemini Monsters, it has managed to win some duels, but I have not won a match, with it. Meaning either the deck isn't that good, or there is something wrong with my strategy. I know that sometimes, I get my Fusion Summon out in the first turn, but then the monster is destroyed and I get forced onto the defensive. Here is the deck, I have made more modifications, as I didn't have alot of destroy monster counter cards. I also didn't have enough defensive cards to keep my Light monsters on the field. My friend tells me it is the weakest deck I have. I don't know but here it is:

I have run out of ideas and strategies. I was thinking of maybe taking out the Gemini Monsters then using some tuner monsters in their place, thus making it a fusion/synchro deck. But was hoping to avoid that until the last possible chance. Any thoughts, ideas, new strategies would be greatly appreciated. The ceck is built around getting my Fusion and Synchro Monsters to the field. My problem is that none of my opponents let them stay there long enough to be of any use. The only time I win, is when I get Stardust Dragon on the field, then my girl usually beats it in battle and then wins the duel anyways.

Ok, take out the Spark Blaster, Mei Kou, Harvest Angel, and Paladin of Curse. Add 3 Swing of Memories, 1 Double Summon, and 1 Cry Havoc!. I know you don't have them, but they're mostly commons or rares from Tactical Evolution or Phantom Darkness. Go to a local tournament or ask your friends; they probably own dozens of each card. And, theres always eBay... Thanks for being brave enough to try a Gemini Deck, as me and you are one of the few who have. Blue-Eyes White Boy 20:20, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

other modifications

I have at least two Swing of Memories, and can see your focus there. But taking out those 3 monsters takes away 3 of my 4th level light monsters. I can probably get Cry Havoc! which also seems like a good way to get those monsters back. I have a Double Summon, I believe because I had it in this deck before. I can see taking out Mei-Kou, Master of Barriers because it's attack score isn't that great. But Harvest Angel of Wisdom and Paladin of the Cursed Dragon are pretty decent attacks, that are 4th level lights to go with my Lightwave Tuning, what do you guys think about this decision. I will pull my Spark Blaster as I have yet to get that out since it being there anyways. I will replace that with a Double Summon, I will pull Mei-Kou, Master of Barriers and replace that with a Swing of Memories any other modifications, I will have to think about a bit longer. With those cards in play, I can get my 4th level light monsters back on the field a bit quicker. Let me think about that, but those modifications are definately going to be built. Thanks BEWK, I appreciate your thoughts. I only have One Swing of Memories so I will put that in, I found my Double Summon, I can add Dark Factory of Mass Production along with a Fusion Recovery since I need multiple Fusion Material Monsters for my fusion monsters. I have modified the deck list above to reflect these changes. I have to work today so probably won't be able to test until tonight when I get home.

I finally won a match

It took me and my girl down to the final duel, and both of us with only 8 cards left in our deck zone, but I finally won a match against her. The reason that I won though was due to some mistakes on her part. So, I can't take all the credit. But, without getting my Stardust out, I won a duel and a match. I still believe there is flaws in my strategy, but am not sure of all of them. If anyone can help me out with this deck, maybe some strategy ideas that I haven't been able to see it would be great.

  • First of all. I'd like to say that I haven't had much experience neither with E-Heroes nor with Geminis, seeing as I was out of the game when they were being played. Nevertheless, I can still offer advice.
You deck's card count is more than 40. I'd see to that by removing 2x The Warrior Returning Alive, 1x Fusion Weapon, 1x Ray of Hope and the Dust Tornado. The deck is now 40 cards. Even so, there still are some cards that must go: 1x Exiled Force, 3x Remote Revenge, Infinity Dark, Ancient Gear Knight. That brings your card total to 34.
Now, what to add: First of all, you'll want to add 2x Reinforcement of the Army. Searching = thinning = less dead draws = a good thing. Then, add 2x Dark Valkyria, one of the best Gemini monsters ever, and get your Future Samurais to 3. That adds 6 cards.
You should then substitute Sakuretsu Armors for Threatening Roars, since they are much more effective. You can alternatively use Waboku, although it won't be as good. Sub Fissure for Smashing Ground, and Fusion Recovery for Monster Reborn.
With these changes, the deck should run much more smoothly. If you find it slow or prone to dead draws, tell me and I'll try to find you an easy-to-use draw engine. --Darth Covah (Talk | Contribs) 18:14, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

Darth Covah, Above is the modified deck

I have made some of the modifications you have suggested, those that I could make, along with those that I was willing to make, the deck does seem to have sped up, and I am having more success with it. So, thanks for your assistance. If you can see any more modifications you might make, post them here. I would like to do that On line dueling with this deck vs one of yours. Perhaps, you might see the flaws that still occur that way. I have to work, but you can email me a time in Eastern Standard Time to perhaps duel. I am limited as to when I can get on the computer as my Step Daughter usually has to work early in the morning, so when I get home from work, she is asleep. The computer is in her room. Thanks again for helping me out. I appreciate it, and again I hope I didn't upset you by emailing you multiple times about the same thing.

Again, thanks;

Joe

  • Dear Joe, I'd be glad to help you. You can, if you have MSN, add me. My contact email is the same as my regular email. Add me and feel free to talk to me whenever you wish to duel. Know, however that although my exams period is over, I still have to attend classes daily, and complete coursework, study, and also enjoy the rich nightlife of my city. As I see it, the best bet would be a Sunday evening. My timezone is GMT+2, so take that into account. I'm looking forward to our duel.
P.S. Did you make changes to your decklist? I could see none. Maybe you forgot to edit it? After you edit it, I'll try and help more.
P.P.S. Of course you are not bothering me or anything. Yu-Gi-Oh! is a pleasant passtime for the both of us, and I'm always glad to oblige a fellow duelist.

Take care, and enjoy the game. --Darth Covah (Talk | Contribs) 23:45, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

I must not have

Made the edits, I copied and pasted it from my 4 decks forum, but then wikia was having problems, therefore it wouldn't let me post. When I was able to post it was in a hurry, must of forgot them. The edits have been made and are posted.
