Forum:Future Fusion

I was just wondering. Even though Future Fusion is a continuous spell card, its effects activate one at a time and at a given condition. I'm just wondering what alternatives are there to keep the summoned fusion monster while getting rid of Future Fusion itself. By this I don't mean using cards such as Polymerization (Fuse it into the next stage) or De-fusion (Breaking up Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon into 3 Blue-Eyes White Dragon). I'm also curious about what it means to "negate the activation and effect of a spell card". I'm just wondering why can't you use a Magic Jammer to negate the activation and effect of a continuous spell card on time it comes into effect, not necessarily meaning the time it was first activated but when the effect is once again used like Ultimate Offering. In particular, I'm comparing this to the trap card Divine Wrath which does the same thing but to Effect Monsters. I've used Divine Wrath on Chaos Command Magician by "activating" its effect using Man-Eater Bug and then chaining Divine Wrath to Chaos Command Magician's effect. So what I am really wondering is the possibility of chaining a card like Magic Jammer to prevent the last effect of Future Fusion, when it is triggered (Say if I were use a Mystical Space Typhoon on it and then chain Magic Jammer to negate the activation and effect which would destroy the fusion monster). --125.161.173.103 9:31, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

  • Continuous Effects cannot be chained to, and they cannot be negated with things like "Magic Jammer" because they do not activate. Danny Lilithborne 13:13, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

Paragraphs, please. They make it easier to understand your questions. Also, remember to sign your posts with four tildes ~~~~, since that automatically creates a signature for you.

If "Future Fusion" is negated while it is destroyed, then the monster isn't destroyed. Try "Spell Canceller" or "Cyber Phoenix". Also, if the monster is flipped face-down (e.g. with "Book of Moon"), then it is no longer tied to "Future Fusion", so it won't be destroyed.

The "activation" of a Spell Card is when you play it from your hand (or flip it face-up). When it's already face-up, you're activating the effect of a Spell Card. "Magic Jammer" negates the activation of a Spell Card, not the activation of the effect of a Spell Card.

"Divine Wrath" negates the effect of a Monster Card, since you can't "activate" a Monster Card (you Summon it). It work differently than "Magic Jammer". Also, you cannot negate "Chaos Command Magician" with it, since his effect is a Continuous Effect, to which you cannot chain.

Finally, that is not possible. You cannot chain to "Future Fusion"'s destruction effect. Also, "Future Fusion" isn't being activated, so you cannot use "Magic Jammer" against it.
