Have a question. Can I use the effect of Geargiano to bring Geargiarsenal from the graveyard, then use the effect of Geargiarsenal? 'cause Geargiano only negates the effects of Geargiarsenal while on the field. This can create a loop with Inferno Reckless Summon bringin Geargiano with the effect of Geargiarsenal use IRS to bring all the copies of Geargiano tribute them to bring Geargiarsenal and use it to bring up to 3 LV4 Geargia Monsters from the deck, filling the graveyard and Xyz summon any rank 4 monster that needs 3 LV4 monsters. Or Xyz Summon Gear Gigant X and special summon another LV4 Geargia monster to use the effect of Gear Gigant X use its effect, bringing Geargiaccelerator summon it Xyz summon another GGX etc, etc. and have card advantage. No, even though it's in the Graveyard when the effect finishes resolving, it was activated on the field. Every effect resolves at the same place as when it was activated, regardless of where the card itself ends up. So, by, 'effects on the field', it means effects that activate on the field. Geargiarsenal activates by Tributing it while it's on the field, so that is an effect on the field. MadRest 18:43, September 24, 2012 (UTC)
actually, you are wrong master d, it's true that Geargiarsenal's effect will be negated, but since the tribute is a cost, the effect won't be stopped. just like Stardust Dragon vs Skill Drain. Stardust can still negate cards like dark hole succesfully while skill drain is out because skill drain only negates monster effects on the field. since stardust must tribute as cost, the effect won't be stopped. just like geargiarsenal, so, from what i understand, that combo is possible.D-range (talkcontribs) 19:32, September 24, 2012 (UTC)
No, this is different from Skill Drain. Skill Drain only affects face-up monsters. This case is similar to Effect Veiler vs. Exiled Force. Effect Veiler will still negate the effect of Exiled Force, even though it's Tributed.
